I briefly looked at it once; I need to revisit it.
I'm pretty sure that Twitter has an API that I can subscribe to.

However, I did start looking at the API again the other day.
One stumbling block I'd have to overcome is a somewhat technical (and also financial) one in that I'd have to secure the site with SSL, it seems, to make use of their Cards API.

You can get SSL from namecheap.com for 10 bucks.
Its really not difficult.
It only becomes slightly more technical if you change your url and need to do a redirect. Such as removing www
I dont recommend removing www. I did that, when I switched my sites to https, and google decided to derank me.
