I'm a bit confused on how PMs are suppose to work.

For example, there are posters who say "will you guys please take your arguments to PMs instead of cluttering the board?"

On the other hand, there are posters who whine and cry about what is posted in PMs. There are even a couple of posters who lie about what is posted in PMs. I sent the refs an example of that when a poster said I threatened him and cussed him out in multiple posts. I finally sent the PM to the refs to prove that was a lie.

Now, I have a guy who criticizes me over and over again in the public forum. Instead of cluttering the public forums, I PMed him a couple of times to ask that he "please stop responding to me."

He is saying to not PM him and only respond to him in public.

So, what gives?

I have no problem w/not asking people to stop responding to me in PMs if that is what you wish, but then again, other posters need to stop saying "take it to PMs." On the other hand, if we are supposed to take these petty arguments to PM's, shouldn't they not be posted in the forum?

I don't know. I know of one guy that, being embarrassed, threatened to make public pm's I supposedly sent to him/her. It was an effort on his/her part to attempt to subtlety convince the board I was being a jerk.

I encouraged the person to post the pm's. He/she never posted any, because what he or she posited never occurred.

Weird, I know.

Since when did anyone need to be convinced?

JMO, but I dont think you really have the right to tell someone not to respond to you when you post something in a public forum.

Agreed. But please note, there is very, very little truth to the op's post. But, he is what he is.

Well not to get involved in your guys battle, but he says in his original post about people whining about what is said in PM's. But this is the same guy who reported my PM to him and got me suspended but then PMed me asking to meet up and fight
