My god this guy looked amazing. Will he become our #1 TE? The guy is huge. Is this just another example of Dorsey working his magic?

ALL of our TEs are HUGE. I stood by Pharoah Brown and was dwarfed by his presence, Harris is also big and Njoku is incredibly fit.

All of the TEs's played well last week ... and it was good to see ... and other than RSJ on the receiving end (amongst his other receptions) of a Baker TD, Harris help seal the crease (and Brown was available for escort duties, although The Chubb train was already rollin) for Chubb's 88 yard TD, and Brown was instrumental (A beast) in Nick's shortest of the three TDs', with Joel Bitonio kicking out and sealing the edge.
They help our OL have their best game of the season imo ... I hope to see more of this good stuff moving forward.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I believe Freddie gets some of the credit for picking up Jones. Probably, he was with Zona when Freddie coached there.

I think we've been more aggressive with Njoku's routes than RSJ so far. He very well could surpass Njoku (I have no favorites), but let's not get carried away. RSJ's blocking does seem to be better already, though. I'll point this out again... that highlight of RSJ running down the sideline made me laugh. The guy looked like a monster running among the Balt DBs, and his running stride looked kinda goofy.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

that highlight of RSJ running down the sideline made me laugh. The guy looked like a monster running among the Balt DBs, and his running stride looked kinda goofy.
He was interviewed by Zegura after the Balt game and he admits he isn't in full shape yet. Keep in mind he was brought in late so missed camp. However, once he gets there he will be even better.

It would be something if we pick up a guy not in the league and turn him into a monster ... I'm pleasantly surprised, but will wait over time to believe that we have found someone better than Njoku ... I've been disappointed with Njoku - but that's based on Uber high expectations....
The more things change the more they stay the same.

This is not a knock on RSJ, but I noticed that Freddie did a good job of scheming to get him open by taking advantage of all the attention OBJ was drawing. Also, there was another play where the defense was paying particular attention to both OBJ and Landry, which left RSJ wide open.

One game and three receptions is not a sufficient body of work for Njoku to lose his job. I'm glad that we acquired RSJ. He might ultimately rise to the #1 TE spot. If he does that by consistently outperforming Njoku over time, so be it.
Keep in mind, this fanbase was clamoring for more 2 TE sets. I think there is a role in there for 85. All the TEs' could stand the improve their blocking, though.

That OBJ "bait and switch" should be there for RSJ; or would you rather let OBJ get a chance at his magic. I want to see some more of this kid! And you still have Chubb to catch and mayfield to turn it up.
Wrinkles give Freddie a chance to put layers of hurt out there on a defense. How about a 4 TE set? We are getting into single wing kinds of mismatches.

It was as if he was a different player. Heck, we were practically a different team the second half of last year. As to availability - I think this is his first injury since he was drafted. And I do not place this injury on him. His QB hung him out to dry. As to blocking, well, that is not why we drafted him. He is not good at that, I will grant you that.
How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

Just remember that Njoku came out early. He was not 21 in his rookie year if I recall.
I still have high hopes for him as a player.
It there are two viable pass catching TE's, that that is even better.
There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

Pharoah listed as our #1 TE, then Harris...quite frankly I prefer Ricky Seals-Jones! He's a good blocker also and the only one who can play H-Back.
Harris has not impressed me yet. Gosh darn he reminds me of Quincy Morgan regarding his hands. Everything seems bobbled and all thumbs!
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off!
