I had a chest cat-scan and blood work don't know why jusking for some prayers for a good report Monday .... Thanks God Bless

Well thanks for all your prayers and the cat-scan seems to be good but my blood test revealed Type 2 Diabetes. I had no Idea, but the Doc said I wouldn't need insulin just a couple pills a day and a BIG change in my diet. I have peace with this thanks to knowing that God is in Control thanks again God Bless

I have peace with this thanks to knowing that God is in Control thanks again God Bless Likely, since you didn’t feel the symptoms of your diabetes, with an adjustment to your diet (carb reduction) and some exercise you may get away from the need for the oral medications. If you’re a ‘big guy’ do the work to make the changes in your diet. It doesn’t mean starving yourself. It just means more protein (fats are fine too), less grains/potatoes and sugar. (Beer is bad. Vodka is fine. ) You don’t have to join a gym. A walk every evening can help stabilize your glycogen spike post meal. Don’t get me wrong. The drugs do a great job. But they come with side effects... an example...metformin=diarrhea fo a lot of folks. Plus the long term effects of diabetes is just not good. Kidney disease, eye problems/blindness, peripheral blood flow issues (this can lead to amputations), and in general slow healing processes. Good luck with your management of this. I have faith you can do it.

Fats are not always fine. My cholesterol is high, so adding more fat would not be good. The best is to do your best to follow your doctor's plan.
One thing that has helped with my sugar readings is carefully adding some whole grains to my diet. The only problem is that some has a lot of added sugar, so they have to be carefully added.
