We ran the ball 29 times. (Not counting QB scrambles/runs/kneel down)
That is a lot in today's NFL.
Pitt ran it 31 times against a bad Bengals' defense.
Teams simply don't run the ball 40 times in a game anymore.
Counting scrambles, we passed 34 times, and ran 31 times. That's great balance, and excellent play-calling. It's about situational football.

Counting scrambles, we passed 34 times, and ran 31 times. That's great balance, and excellent play-calling. Balance is good but when your up 34-17 and going for more late RUN the ball, if it wasn't for penalty things could have gotten sticky ...

It's about situational football. This is where Freddie has a major disconnect. Winning/playoff teams do not have this.
The Browns finally have a leader in the building. It won't be long before Jim Schwartz is in charge. Thankfully.

I agree ... but to be fair, I've said I want to see improvement from FK as HC ... and even during the wins vs Pit and Bills I don't think I saw any maturation or improvement from Freddie. . . . this week vs a bad Miami team it did feel a bit better. Let's see how we do against a motivated Pit team in their house.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

I swear u guys could dig up Lombardi for head coach and say he sucks cause he runs the ball every play.. Can we please let a coach stay for more than a year ? Amen!

Our second 40 this year how good could this offense be with a great play caller ... We don't have a great play caller. We have Freddie. Hopefully this is the last season we have him. Gawd awful. His teams will never be better than .500. He just doesn't have what it takes to be an effective leader and a decent play caller. I don't think that Freddie is necessarily a bad play caller. I think the issue is that he has too much on his plate. He can't do his HC duties AND call the plays. Does he spend any time with the D? To be a good playcaller dont you need to know what to call when? That last INT shouldn't have happened! That's not good playcalling. That is exactly my point. Trying to be the HC and OC, he just doesn't have time to give consideration to the situation and make the play call, etc
