It figures. 60 degrees and sunny for what was supposed to be our home opener. I guess I'll be happy if we can get 120-130 game season, kind of like 1994, when the Indians won 100 games out of 144.
Speaking of 1994, Sports Time Ohio is showing the opener from 1994, the first game ever at Jacobs Field, at 12:30 today and 7:00 tonight. At 4PM today, they are showing the 1997 All Star Game from Jacobs Field (MVP Sandy Alomar). If you don't have cable, I think these games are being streamed on Fox Sports Ohio's website as well as Indians.com.
Last thing: right now I'm watching Len Barker's Perfect Game from 1981 on STO. Play-by-play is Herb Score with Nev Chandler. Its in the 7th now. Good stuff.

Ugh - Chris Berman along with all his stupid nicknames is doing the play by play for the '94 rebroadcast.
(Or should I say Chris "I'll never be your beast of" Berman? Sorry.)

Watching the '97 All Star Game now. After almost 23 years, Randy Johnson is still one ugly ma'afala.

I don’t know if it’s coincidence or not, but one of the movie channels I get is airing Major League tonight. No bleeps.
I have it set to record, love that movie, my favourite baseball flick.

Take me out to the ball game, Wait, the gates chained and locked. I brought my glove and my baseball hat, I planned to eat dogs till I got really fat.
Now it’s root, root, root through the tool box, For, the bolt cutting tools. I’m getting in don’t care what it takes, Running the bases like I’m on ice skates.
Oh my, the badges are chasing me, They’re, getting closer each step. Six landed on me; I’m feeling stressed, A new orange jump suit is how I am dressed.

Virtual Home Opener! Hey ..... it's almost something. Cleveland Indians pound Detroit Tigers, 15-4, in virtual reality season opener - cleveland.com https://www.cleveland.com/tribe/2020/03/...son-opener.htmlCLEVELAND, Ohio -- Be it video game or real life, the Tigers are in a bad spot when they play the Indians. With MLB’s season delayed because of the coronavirus, cleveland.com enlisted the PlayStation video game MLB 20 The Show to play a virtual season opener Thursday at Progressive Field. The Indians beat the Tigers, 15-4, as Francisco Lindor, Jordan Luplow and Franmil Reyes each hit three-run homers. Last year the Indians went 18-1 against the rebuilding Tigers. It was more of the same on Thursday in front of a sellout crowd over over 35,000 in 55 degree temperatures. Shane Bieber went five innings for the win. He had a no-hitter going until Christin Stewart hit a two-run homer with two out in the fifth. Bieber (1-0, 3.60) allowed two runs on two hits with five strikeouts and no walks. Subtext subscribers put a pitch limit of 72 on Bieber and he was at 70 when Stewart took him deep in the fifth to make it a 3-2 game. He retired the next batter on a liner to short. Lindor eased the pressure with a three-run homer off lefty Matthew Boyd in the bottom of the fifth. The Subtext subscribers stepped into manager Terry Francona’s shoes once again when they called for hard-throwing James Karinchak to start the sixth. On Wednesday, the Subtext subscribers picked Karinchak, Oliver Perez and Nick Wittgren as the three relievers they’d most like to see get the ball to closer Brad Hand in a save situation. Hand wasn’t needed Thursday, but Karinchak, Wittgren and Perez held the Tigers to two runs over the last four innings. The Indians took a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles Carlos Santana and Reyes. They made it 3-0 when Jose Ramirez scored on a double-play grounder in the fourth. After the exchange of homers between Stewart and Lindor in the fifth, the Tigers made it 6-3 in the sixth on a single by Austin Romine. It was clear Karinchak needed some help and the texters were once again asked to channel Francona. They made an overwhelming choice to bring Wittgren with two out and a man on second to face JaCoby Jones. The Indians put the game away with a six-run seventh inning highlighted by Luplow’s three-run homer. RBI singles by Perez and Ramirez and a sacrifice fly by Domingo Santana accounted for the first three runs in the inning. Box score of Indians’ simulated 15-4 win vs. Detroit Tigers on ‘MLB The Show 20’ - cleveland.com https://www.cleveland.com/tribe/2020/03/...he-show-20.html

Nice! Since I’m unemployed and self-isolating, I’ve watched that movie three times in the last week. Once from start to finish, otherwise I skip through until the highlight scenes.
