I thought that all the Brown's decision makers were sold on Baker as the number one pick?

Same here. My understanding was that Dorsey spent a lot of his down time before coming to Cleveland scouting Baker and Baker checked all the important analytics boxes too.

I try and never reply to you, but that wasn't a slam on Baker. I was saying that I believed all the decision makers wanted Baker as the first choice and it wasn't just one person.

I have no problems bashing Baker and will do so when I feel like it, but that was not a criticism on Baker at all.

I did not bring it up. I was responding to this comment:

Quote:

No - Dorsey drafted him Dorsey had complete control of the team and Dorsey was high on Baker.

What do you call this post of yours? Would you like some cheese with that?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

IIRC Dorsey had 3 or 4 other members of his staff go out and independently scout the 5 QB's in that draft and everyone of them said Baker which is whom JD liked but didn't mention it to anyone. They all agreed he was the QB to draft.

My understanding is that both scouts and analytics agreed that Baker should be the pick.

I think that pretty much confirmation of what some of us have said for many years. A draft pick can't be judged until year three. When looking at a draft selection, you must consider where he will be three years down the road.

Our problem here with all of that has been with no continuity, it's hard to develop a draft pick when he is constantly learning new systems and dealing with new coaches, "teachers" all the time.

BB drafting system is well defined within their PROGRAMS on O and D they defined a rating system on pieces of the PUZZLE within their system parameters.

Something we cannot do as well for the simple reason we do not have any consistent program...its always year ONE too often as is the case of 2020 we have to get usually a year of play under the belt of our Coaching and System to fully evaluate who we got and if they fit the puzzle we are making.

All too often that never gets off the ground.
