He actually served as the teams game captain for the Cowboys game.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I know we are down two safeties but I don't think there is much of a drop-off from Joseph to Harrison to Redwine.

I really wish we had Teller. That man has been a beast. Luckily Hubbard has been playing well too.

Yea, I am not liking the outlook of our secondary against a red hot Ben. Lets hope our offense can click and keep up with the Steelers. Starting to shape up to be a potential shootout.

We are down 1 starter? Harrison is the backup to Joseph and they both play the same position.

Redwine looked good last game and has a 93.6 PFF rating.

Best Defense in the world is a Pass Rush. We will provide plenty of that as Pittsburghs O line is very suspect, and will probably be without David Decastro. Ward, Mitchell and Johnson are gonna have to produce. Running game is our key, Keep Big Ben off the field and he cant hurt us. I believe their corners are very vulnerable, Joe Haden is their best and he is well past his prime. Watched the Philly game, T Fulgraham torched Mike Hilton in the slot for like 10 catches. Our TE's can eat ALL day if we establish a run. Hope Landry and OBJ are good to go, that will open the middle of the field. Go Browns!!!

The problem is that Ben is getting rid of the ball quickly. Our QB is not.

Yet, until the Steelers brought in Todd Haley as OC, he did not get rid of the ball quickly. He held the ball for 4-6 seconds, routinely.

A QB can learn to speed things up, with time. Last year, Freddie ran an offense more in line with Bruce Arians, which is more of a deep, attacking offense. This year he is being asked to learn a whole new offense, with a whole new set of reads and a different style of progressions. It will be interesting to see how he progresses over the rest of this season, and then into next, when he should, presumably, have the same offense in place, along with a normal off-season.

I get that you want to defend Baker and I'm good w/that, but Ben had the ability to extend plays because he is a giant of man and could shrug off tacklers while keeping his eyes downfield. Baker is not that player.

But again............I was just talking about this upcoming game. Baker holds it longer than any qb in the league and Ben is getting rid of it quickly.

I agree that he does get rid of the ball quickly now, and your point about his ability to shrug off tacklers is also valid ..... and it is also valid that he had to learn to speed up things mentally after several years in the league.

I am not defending anyone, just stating what has happened, and what could be a possible path for Baker, as well.

Just took a look at NextGen stats. Baker holds it longer than any other qb at 3.19 seconds and Ben is getting rid of it quicker than anyone at 2.37 seconds. Wait, he's tied w/Haskins.

I was talking about this in a few other threads and not sure if I want to add these numbers to those threads because it seems like overkill, but knowledge is a good thing. I hope people read these things when posters try and fabricate things across the board.

No way Baker aint playing Sunday...his mother didn't make no wuss...lol laugh

Hopefully one of those situations where the OL plays amazing and keeps Baker clean and not hit. Our O is predicated from our Run game, The little I have seen from the Steelers is their Run D has not been that good. We will miss Teller but Hubbard will be in Sync with our OL unit and the Steelers are his old team.

My fear is the lack of safeties. So far as a unit they have been playing way over their heads. I think we will see Taviere Thomas at the safety position, shame I was liking myself some Ronnie Harrison but he is out due to Concussion protocol.

Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off!

I understand the stats about how long QBs holding onto the ball, but they can really be misleading.

If you QB is doing a lot of designed rollouts and play action (like Stefanski has been doing for Baker), it's definitely going to skew the numbers.

So, I never really put a lot of emphasis on that stat.

I respectfully disagree. I think it is an important stat. I remember how everyone was saying we had the worst OL in the league when Charlie Frye was our qb. DA comes in and we hardly gave up any sacks and the OL was praised.

I do agree that the rollouts will take more time, but we aren't running that many. I will also say that qbs that scramble around a lot like Mahomes, Watson, etc will have slower times. However, it's very evident that Baker holds the ball too long on many plays in the pocket. This occurs when his first read is not open. He is slow to go through his progressions and there is film breakdown to verify this claim.

What's crazy is that Big Ben used to hold it forever and now is getting rid of it quickly. One of my keys to the game is to get pressure on Ben, but it's tough to do so when a qb gets rid of it that quickly.

EO...I agree about Baker showing up and starting against the Stoolers...he will be there!

But, if Mayfields ribs are much worse than reported...if the ribs are fractured or broken, the passing game could suffer and how long Baker is able to play will depend upon how good the Browns pass protection is.

Protecting the QB has a different meaning to Offensive Lineman...protecting your QB is not about Stats

...protecting your QB means not allowing the Defense to hit, hurt and punish your QB the instant the pass leaves the QBs hand.

The Colts put a "physical beating" on Mayfield...

...and the Steelers lead the NFL in sacks (20).

The game will be decided by the Browns offensive line and their ability to "protect" our QB.

I’m a bit concerned about about our secondary tomorrow (and I’m usually concerned with it haha)

Not true. We're not "fully loaded". We're missing Teller and Chubb.

Context: I'm generally not a fan of media, especially the uninformed.

Yikes. Definitely didn't think it was that bad (I saw his final play and him walking off the field).
