let's see, they've traded a ILB that has huge upside for an aging veteran RB that has talent but also a lot of mileage. then they send two picks to Minnesota for a 33 year old guy that has had some success but is on the downside of his career and another draft pick?

I'm not seeing this as being smart.

At least with McGowen, there is some ties to Flip? Not sure if that means anything either, but at least there is that.

I hope they don't mind watching the Pats win their 6th SB then.

well, then it couldn't be for next year's game unless the NFL is going to make this year worth 2 (Pats are now 4-4 in the SB).

Dang, that's right. I thought Brady and Bill had 5 for some reason. It's hard to keep track.

I'd like to have the same problem with a Cleveland team.

FOX Sports reports the Bills will also receive a sixth-round pick in 2015 in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2015 and a seventh-round pick in 2016. The trade will not become official until the start of the new league year on March 10.

me too (and glad you took that in stride, comment came off more terse than I meant it). they were founded in 1960 and have been to 8 championship games since that year.

then again, it took them 25 years to get to their first one. so, we only have to wait another 10 years since our expansion year. then, another 15 years to actually win one.

that's 25 years from now. at least most of us should still be alive?

High draft picks are overrated. Just ask the current and previous Browns GMs.

It's like the Bills GM is playing Madden right now haha

But at least they're trying something

Wait. They got Cassel and a 6h round pick for a 5th and a 7th? Is that right?

And you guys are ragging on them?

You do realize the Vikings were able to trade Cassel because they ACTUALLY drafted a franchise qb, while we were forced to sign a guy who went 1 and 10 last year to a fairly lucrative contract.

Is Teddy, with such a small sample size playing indoors, a franchise QB?

I wouldn't call only 6 million guaranteed lucrative, either.

Why did they trade Cassel if he isn't.

We are signing QBs.

Minnesota is getting rid of them. Figure it out for yourself.

Oh, btw----------Teddy played outdoors in Minnesota last year. Not that facts matter much around here.

In their minds he has all the earmarks of one and they feel they have no need at the QB position.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Oops, forgot about their stadium issue.

I've figured it out to "this is what makes the most sense to the Browns FO". I'm just a fan. No need to get all worked up over something I can't control. Only thing we can do is watch and see what happens. I just try not to jump to too many conclusions when it comes to life.

No problem about forgetting about the stadium. It's a common mistake because they played in a dome for so many years. However, one might want to give Teddy a bit of credit for having such a good season playing outdoors in places like Minnesota, Chicago, and Green Bay, eh?

I respect your right not to get worked up. It's all good. However, I think I am entitled to my own opinions on the subject matter.

I was more impressed with Bridgewater than I thought I would be; however, I'll reserve some judgment until I see how he performs this year.

Teams will have a year of game planning to exploit his weaknesses.

I'm not sure ... I'm just saying pro scouts/coaches are very good at pinpointing weaknesses and exploiting them.

I wish I was that adept with my own eyes haha

True, but he is extremely football intelligent. You are not going to confuse him too much.

His arm was more than adequate in windy conditions, which totally blew away the stupid pro day results.

He is calm under pressure.

Not sure what there is to exploit.

I will say that he threw more picks than I thought he would have last year. I look for that number to improve w/experience, but I was surprised.

Now.........whose weaknesses do you think it would be easier to exploit............Teddy's or Manziel's?

I watched him early in the year, but I didn't watch him much later in the year. By all accounts, he improved as the year went along.

What I saw early in the year was a smart QB, but a QB with average arm strength and a tendency to want to make the easy, check down play...the safe play. You can't win long-term like that, but I don't think it would be fair to assume he will always play like that either.

The bottom line is only time will tell if he is a franchise QB or not. Being disappointed in your own team's choices doesn't make him a franchise QB. I think mostly everyone on this board understands that. And Matt Cassell leaving simply means they no longer need him to be a bridge QB. Time will still tell on Bridgewater.

And tape is a very real thing. It's a chess game. Teams will adapt to Bridgewater. He will have to counter those adjustments. I expect teams next year to make him beat them deep.

And if it turns out that he's good enough to win a Super Bowl with, then good for the Vikings fans. It's water under the bridge, pun intended. Complaining and wallowing in your misery is a choice. But that's what makes some people happy.

Lol well all you'd have to do is dangle a bud light bottle in front of JFF

But seriously, Teddy is about a light year ahead of Manziel right now ... anyone can see that IMO

I am just amazed that the Vikings were able to get anything for Cassell. He has not played a full season in 4 years. He actually won the starting job in Minny last year, but got hurt. He has not really been good since 2010.

It will be interesting to see how he does on a team where the QB should have a lot of pieces around him, and a staunch defense backing him.

Coming from the guy who recently called someone's post "one of the dumbest posts ever".
