Yo,

So I live on a friggen cattle ranch now with satellite internet. Much of the time when I post I end up with duplicates.

Weirdly when I go to delete them I get:

UBB Message
This post may no longer be deleted.

Happens before anyone else has responded etc. Happens for both posts.

Not sure whats up. Satellite has like 800? ping to most things so my internet is certainly wacky. Not sure what is causing things specifically though or if anything can be done outside of me only posting from work

And now we can see if creating a thread ends up with a duplicate or not so that'll be neat

Yup: Right after hitting submit I got:


UBB Message
Post already exists.

So that is a convenient way of cutting down duplicates. I'm fairly certain this will duplicate as well... lemme test my slightly slower satellite and see if it does it.

So my slow satellite doesn't seem to have the same problem.

One more test and it can be deemed corrected.

Still no idea why I can't delete duplicates if you have any thoughts on that UBB forum masters.

None of us can delete a post we can only edit it. So next time that happens, edit the 2nd post to read:

The proprietors of this establishment have deemed me unfit to recognize a mistake has occurred and while I could take care of this easily enough of my own volition, it will have to wait for others in power to execute this post adding to their already over-burdened work load considering all the crap in pure football lately.

It used to be that I could create, and then delete a post, or even a thread, as long as no one responded to it. (for a short period of time, anyway)

That appears to have changed.
