I'm not a country fan, but "The devil went down to Georgia" is a pretty great song.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
I saw him in concert many, many years ago. I was a kid and unhappy I was being forced to watch a country show. They put on one of the better concerts I've ever seen. It was a high energy show from start to finish. I think he changed his bow 3 times.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

You live and learn. The CDB could hammer down.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
I liked Charlie Daniels. When I had my Harley, I used to ride w/a guy who absolutely loved Charlie Daniels. When I went to his house to party, he would blast some of Charlie's songs on this elaborate reel-to-real system that he had w/humongous speakers. Old Charlie could get your foot a-tappin.

I was mostly unhappy because we saw him at kings dominion. I would have rather been on rides. In hindsight, I'm really happy I saw him.

I don't know about kings dominion...maybe a amusement park? Anyway, hindsight usually brings clarity. Glad you look back and are happy. Charlie was a talented guy. He may not have played the music you liked, but it is hard to deny the talent.

Cool my friend. Johnny Cash, Marty Stewart, Travis Tritt. Seen all three live. Cash and Stewart multiple times. Not sure who was the fiddle player.
Thanks for sharing. Anything with Johnny Cash is important.
Johnny and Elvis were running buddies in the early days of rock. As their careers skyrocketed, Elvis leaned a bit more towards rock, but stayed true to country and gospel. Johnny veered more towards country, but stayed true to gospel and rock.
It's why both are in all three hall of fames. Johnny was more the songwriter, thus he is in that as well.
In another vid you posted, Marty Stewarts band the Superlatives....Cousin Kenny...as good as it gets, man. If you get a chance to see Marty, go! I have seen him twice, and look forward to the 3rd.

The Charlie Daniels Band was the post-ceremony entertainment when I graduated boot camp or perhaps it was part of a 9/11 remembrance ceremony that just happened to coincide ( link ). The memory is a little hazy. They played this song. I thought it was a somewhat strange choice.
You mess with the "Bull," you get the horns. Fiercely Independent.
John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Think Kings Island. I believe there was one in Ohio. Same rides, different names.
Saw CDB live in a college concert with ZZ Top of all people. Thanks for all the fine sing along fiddling'. Could not ignore it when he caught fire. RIP, big fella.
"Every responsibility implies opportunity, and every opportunity implies responsibility." Otis Allen Glazebrook, 1880
Apparently Alexa wanted to tribute Charlie Daniels, and woke me up to Devil Went Down To Georgia this morning. 4 snare hits and a fiddle is a heck of a wake up.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

That would have been a great concert. Charlie was a country guy mostly, but he charted on the rock charts all the time. I don't know that ZZ hit the country charts, but they have that Texas Blues things going on. I don't know many country fans who don't like ZZ.
Good music is good music. You may not like everything, but if songs have a hook, they can catch a lot of fish.

I saw Charlie Daniels once. Did a cover of Free Bird, and preached before the Devil Went Down to Georgia. Good show, but those are the two things I remember most from it...
