What is on the menu this Sunday?

Here I will be making a pot of Taco soup with chips. I may also have some wings.

To start, I made a pastrami for sliders with stone ground dijon mustard and swiss cheese. We’ll have a cheese dip and a french onion dip for veggies and chips. The options become, wings, potato skins, and mini tacos.

The wildcard became the weather. It’s going to be 70 here, so this opens up grilling and possibilities it offers.

A pitcher of margaritas will be in the mix, regardless of the weather.

We’re planning on some nachos, cheese sticks, pizza, fries, wings, etc ... just a lot of finger foods

We're going with chili. Queso, salsa and Tostitos along with other pre game snacks. Just the family this year. No parties or big gatherings.

Those are great for the atmosphere and festivity aspect. Not so great of you're actually trying to concentrate on the game.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I'm thinking something like:

Pizza (variety of toppings)
White chicken chili
Mixed veggies
A dessert of some sort - maybe a pie or muffins

Plus an assortment of beverages.

I make a mean homemade guacamole, but we're not going anywhere or getting together with anyone, so I don't think that's coming out.

Probably just some pizza.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Whatever is on the menu at the local watering hole with a bunch of GM Lordstown transplants here in the STL.

I'll definitely miss our annual party in the C-Town area. About 80 of us usually stamp our $75 ticket for an enormous buffet, an open bar, and a bunch of raffles and freebees. We gamble like fools and carry on shamelessly til midnight or so. Hopefully I'll be back in the area by next year.

Everybody be safe and have fun. Don't try to deep-fry any half-frozen turkeys in the comfort of your garage!

Wife and I are going all out again this year. Youth group at church makes subs as a fundraiser. We're getting 1 ham, and 1 turkey.

We will be enjoying them with a house not full of others.

Nathan's jumbo kosher dogs, with cheese and chili, stadium mustard, on hot dog rolls from the in-store bakery at Giant Eagle. (You gotta "cave" the roll to keep everything from squirting out the other end.) Some baked beans, doctored up with Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. Carrot sticks and ranch dressing. Beer. Easy prep, easy clean up ... that's perfect for me.

A friend of mine calls it "the gray box". Seems like we've been in it for a long time, and its only Feb 1. Oh well, its supposed to be sunny and 46 tomorrow. I might go sit on the patio, let my dog get some air and exercise - she's got the cabin fever, just like her dad.

It's going to be 50 degrees here tomorrow, so I'm firing up the smoker. 4 slabs of babyback ribs. I prefer full ribs, but the price was outrageous, and Kroger had the babybacks BOGO. Not sure what the wife's whipping up for sides.

We call it winter out here. It’s generally overcast from late October until mid April. A fairly constant 40-45 degree drizzle. It’s the tradeoff for relentlessly sunny, rain free, summers.

I cooked a 3lb pork butt in Cuban mojo seasoning yesterday, to make Cuban sandwiches. I have enough pork left over we're adding Cuban street taco's to the menu today.

Took my first tasting of the Taco soup a few minutes ago...decided it needed a little chili powder...added about a tbs. I will check again in about a hour once he blends in.

About 3lbs lean chuck, cooked and drained.

2 packs mild taco seasoning
2 good sized white onions diced
1 bottle mild taco sauce.
3 cans diced, roasted tomato's
cilantro
2 cans Mexican beans...1 kidney, 1 pink
2 cans roasted corn

water to cover

Don't add any salt...serve with Grated Mexican cheese blend and 4-5 crushed up tortilla chips....they get the salt level to where it needs to be.

I just use mild, that way everybody can heat it up to the level they like...I have 5-6 different hot sauces.

I’m traveling and will be watching in my hotel room. So, had to keep it simple, given I only have a microwave to cook. I’m making a spicy Mexican cheese dip and a crab dip. I have some pot stickers also. I picked up some local IPAs, and I’m looking forward to the game!

You have to make due. Mexican cheese dip and crab dip are always good spread over crackers or baguettes. Pot stickers, maybe a little soy
along with a few IPA's, I would add a bottle of wine...sounds good, wish I was there.

Where are you on this assignment?

I’m south of Chicago. I rarely work in this part of the country. I’m usually out west. Not loving being here this time of year! It is in the 50s today, so really can’t complain.

I know I am a little late to this thread (I have been pretty busy lately and away from the board)

I had:

12 hours smoked pulled pork butt
Smoked Beans
Smoked Mac n Cheese
Homemade Beef Jerky
Hamburger Bombs (these came out awesome - first time making them)
Lobster dip
Millers Mustard Dip
Spinach Dip
Beer Bread
Chips, pretzels
Dos Equis and Angry Orchard on tap in the kegerator.
