I was stoked about the Browns this year. I thought this team could and would go deep in the playoffs. The level of talent on the offense is insane: Mayfield, OBJ and Landry (is there a more talented WR duo that those 2?). Chubbs backed by Hunt (Again, is there a more talented group of RBs in the league?).

Defense seems to be loaded with talent.

I don't know about the quality of the O-line. But from an outsider, it seems like coaching.

I know GW from his stint at the Saints. He's a turnaround specialist whose players love giving all out for him. Just look at his interim record last year. However, we can almost guarantee he loses his team year 3. I don't understand hiring Kitchen over GW. But what do I know.

Hey Dawgs, what do you all think of the near future for the Browns? Should I let myself get pumped up next year? And would greatly appreciate opinions on why the major disappointing season this year. If any fanbase deserves a SB, it would be you wild Dawg fans, as good and crazy a fan base as any in the league. Thx muhc-dan
what happened is that our QB is less drew brees and more case keenum.

shouldve hired GW over kitchens.

shouldnt had made the vernon trade.
I would stick with the Saints if I were you. Don't get sucked in if you can still avoid it.
We got Freddie Kitchens'd.
One of the worst coaches in NFL history, a team full of talent but poor attitudes, not enough put into the offseason, a bad set of OTs, a Myles Garrett debacle, etc

Funny, but true.

caju, a lot of stuff went wrong. Too many personalities and me-first players. A coach who was in over his head and couldn't handle said players. Lack of discipline on both sides of the ball. An ill-advised partnership between head coach and offensive coordinator. The brawl that led to Myles Garrett's suspension. The end of season rebellion.

I'm skipping over a lot of things but you get the idea.
How do you feel about Pete Carmichael ?

I thought the Browns would give him a interview for the HC job being that he has worked with Drew.

This is a great summary.
I'll add a little more...

A lazy attitude going into the season. It was all fun & games because the expectation from top to bottom was that this was going to be easy.

All chemistry destroyed on offense with the addition of OBJ... It made a WR in Perriman "expendable", he was a "go-to" the previous season. It helped put Baker's favorite receiver, Higgins, in the dawg house. We cut another dependable TE in Fells, then Baker hung Njoku out to dry in game 1 and he was, in essence, lost for the season. Callaway was off smoking a joint and laughing at the whole thing. Without Landry, we may be talking top five pick in the draft.

OBJ was still being told where to line up week 14

Freddy did his best to always tip off the defense to his play calls, especially on crucial plays.

Baker became a fastball pitcher with bad mechanics and bad decisions.

The defense folded after Myles flipped his lid.

Leadership sucked from the top down and did little to right the ship at any and every detour.
Worked with Browns as position coach under his dad who was OC,under Marty at San Diego first go around with Drew Bress, then at NO with Drew Again. His system fits the the skill position talents we have same he had in NO and Baker size same as Drew. Don't think he'd leave to be OC or doubt Saints let him go as OC. Has Browns ties maybe sway him this way. Like to see him at least get a looksee.
