He played in the same offense as Roethlisberger, and Flacco, and Dalton, and Newton ........ and so on ......

lol, that's what no_logo said. Actually it took about 15 minutes. Once I figured out the quickest way to do it, it was basically done.

Flacco and Newton got to spend significant time in the shotgun as part of their transition
Roeth was basically allowed to do nothing his first 2 years
Dalton did struggle especially once teams learned they had to bracket AJ.

Because I foolishly took Holmgren and Heckert's comments about taking starters "to put around the quarterback" at face value, so I really didn't think we were drafting a QB on days 1 or 2.

I'm questioning why I get excited when yes the Browns don't pick from myriad players I would either be thrilled with or content with.
If that's whining then so be it.
I'm tired of hoping the Browns take one of my favorite guys only to take David Veikune.
Three years later we have a new front office, new head coach, multiple losing records and we get to debate again how to pull our franchise out of this hell hole.
