Woman 'stabbed her boyfriend after he farted in her face'

By Rachel Quigley
14 May 2013

A 37-year-old woman told police that she stabbed her boyfriend because he 'farted in her face'.
Deborah Ann Burns, from Immokalee, Florida, is accused of throwing an eight-inch-long kitchen knife at her boyfriend last week after he purposely passed gas in her face as he walked by her.

She claims the couple started arguing on Tuesday night while they were watching TV when the alleged incident occurred.

Accused: Deborah Ann Burns, 37, told police she stabbed her boyfriend after he farted in her face while they were arguing

Burns then 'confronted him about the fart and Willie became agitated, telling her to shut up,' the police report said.

When officers responded to a report of a possible stabbing, they found Burns' boyfriend in front of his house, with cuts on his abdomen and left arm, according to a Collier County Sheriff's Office arrest report sent to The Huffington Post.

Her boyfriend had a different story and told police they were arguing over money, and continually stated to police that if Burns returned he would 'kick her (butt)'.

When detectives interviewed Burns, she allegedly asserted that her boyfriend became agitated and began yelling only after she confronted him about his fart.

She was charged with aggravated battery and is being held on $50,000 bond.

Wow....this'll make me think twice the next time I get the urge to fart and hold my wife's head under the covers.

If my friends and I reacted like this every time something like that happened, we'd all have been dead years ago.

we even have a game where each body part has a name to let the others know what you did. For example, if you get someone in the hip it's a "Bo Jackson", back of the head it's a "Lincoln" and in the face is a "Harvey Dent". EVERY body part has a name. And we have riders to explain what the process was too...walking by is a "drive-by" and if you're hiding around a corner and the person walks into your "action" it's called a "Jack the Ripper".

We've been meaning to get a laminated card for each to carry in their wallet.

I know, it's gross....but we're guys. It's funny.

That's what happens when you use weapons of mass destruction.

We had a large woman in our company who used to "crop dust" the entire office on her way to the toity each morning. It was brutal.

If it was me she would have passed out and been unable to stab me

My wife jabbed me with a fork once for making a joke about her cooking.

Just feel the need to point out... she stabbed him with an eight-inch knife. If this was a man stabbing a woman this would be a very different thread. Domestic abuse ain't cool no matter who's dealing it.

You could also point out that the original paragraph states that she threw the knife at him... later it says he had multiple cuts to his abdomen and arms... you generally don't get that from somebody throwing a knife at you.

Immokalee, FL .... ahh yes. Mostly an immigrant farm worker town, probably half the population lives under the pverty level, and it's probably higher than reported do to many undocumented workers/residents. Several human traffic rings busted there, regular drunken fights and beatings. Not really a family vacation town.

Also, where Edgerrin James and Brian Rolle hail from.

Around here it is better know as the home of the Immokalee Indian Casino.

About 40 min drive from me. I wouldn't be there after dark unless I was at the casino.

Yeah, I just figured he raised his arm to block it, it cut him and bounced onto his abdomen.

I wouldn't joke about that as I'm sure they will actually pull that card during trial if it goes that far.
