So ....... as you may have heard ...... my right shoulfer decided to join the tear parade. So did my right bicep, and the labrum. This sucker hurts! I was mostly OK yesterday, (one day post op) until last night .... but last night and today are pretty torturous. Ice is my friend. crazy If you are so inclined, I would appreciate prayers for pain easins, sanity remaining, and good healing. 6 weeks in the sling to look forward to. Yea.

You got it, but dang man. Whats going on.

I know you are a Christian and either don't drink or try to moderate, but for the next week or so maybe you need to increase your intake of Jack and don't pay much attention to what you pill bottle says.

In my experience, a pain killer doesn't kill the pain. It might kill 10%. Doctors only prescribe enough to keep them out of trouble since the opioid deal. They aren't the ones dealing with the pain, so sometimes self medication is in order.

I'll say some prayers. That's gotta be rough. You're already doing the ice, that's probably the most important thing to do right now. You've sure had a rough road over the years.

I got a series of pictures of the inside of my ahoulder/arm, and my biceps looked like a combination of Aliens and spaghetti. My rotator cuff tore from the underside. Weird.

Ice is definitely a friend right now. Massive doses of morphine might help too. lol

Prayers are in order. Real painful neighborhood you are in. Are you going for a record? Trying to win a bet? Dude, stop hurting stuff. Maybe ice, moderate drinking, but take them early to stay covered up if possible. I am pulling for you, pal. Go easy.

Life? Really, no idea. I tore the rotator in my left arm a few years ago. That was easy. This one is brutal.

Sounds painful. Hopefully, this week will be better and you can have less pain. Meanwhile, sending more Vitamin P (prayers) your way.

Went through the incredibly painful phase, and was in the mostly pain free phase ...... until this mor ing, until I reached for a towel after my shower ..... and used my right hand ... which sent waves of sharp pain up my arm. Guess I'l remember that I am not supposed to use my right arm next time. crazy

Luckily I am feeling pretty good today. I called my doc's after I did it, and they said that I probably didn't do any harm ...... and that the pain is to get me to stop what I shouldn't be doing.

I have given this a lot of thought, and watched a ton of videos on this injury, and after hearing about some of the types of trauma that can cause these specific injuries, I remembered that I fell, head first, down the stairs months ago, and broke my fall, shoulder first into the wall. That has to be it. This has just bugged the heck out of me for quite a while now, but that must have been the initiating cause.

I remember feeling really lucky that I didn't break my neck, buy it's possible that I tore my shoulder up instead.

It sounds as though you've solved the mystery.
Landing awkwardly and absorbing impacts in vulnerable places make up the lion's share of injuries that sideline pro football players.

At our age, almost anything we do that shocks the system is prob gonna have after-effects.

Ballpeen suggested Jack/self-medication for immediate short-term relief. I won't argue with him. Sometimes, I manage pain with our house doctor: Austin Nichols. His prescription's name is 'Wild Turkey.' wink

I'd suggest this, as an alternative: cannabis. Ask your doc if you're qualified to get your 'Green Card.' It could really help, AND... you'll never run the risk of becoming a 'opioid statistic.'

100% in your corner for a full recovery,
clem.

Pot makes me feel sick to my stomach, and I gave up drinking about 13 or so years ago.

I am actually feeling alright now. It's still sore ..... but I probably move my arm more than I should, without pain. The sling hurts my neck after hours and hours, and I have noticed that I have been subconsciously lifting my arm instead of letting it lie in the sling. I also do the exercises where I can let my arm hang more than recommended. (ones with no direcetd motion of the arm/shoulder)

I am on the way.

3 weeks and 2 days till this sling hits the trash for good. laugh

I'll say prays for you......JMHO, I'd listen to the doc (I assume you trust him/her)-- thinking you're or we are smarter than the docs hasn't worked for me. Pain, as a Christian offer it up for your and my sins- ain't no one perfect but JC- all the best in your recovery.

The 2 cuff tears seem to be completely healed. The bone anchor still smarts, but nowhere what it was. (they drilled a hole in the larger arm bone, and put the biceps tendon in it, then set an anchor "screw" that twists in and holds it in place. the bone then heals around it, and locks the tendon into its new anchor point.)

I listen to the docs, unfortunately, I also do a ton of research into these things. lol I stop if I feel any pain at all.

When I am recovered from this, I get to have surgery on my middle and ring fingers of my left hqnd. Yea! wink My million mile teardown and rebuild, evidently. rofl

Thank you for your best wishes and prayers. I am a firm believer in both. Jesus is the perfect sacrifice for our sins.
