I've got the 49ers winning but I'm rooting for ATL
quietly Julio Jones has becomes Matt Ryans go to man.
I wonder if you asked the Falcons would they trade Jones for Little and Taylor what
would they say?
everytime Jones makes a big play, Tom Heckert looks dumber and dumber.
this game could be a classic for the ages
Opposite for me. It's tough to go on the road in those loud domes, let alone with a rook QB (as incredibly dynamic as he's been).
ATL got stuffed running on every first down and it just didn't matter.
Jones is solid, but that was clearly a coverage breakdown.
But hey, any crack of light that points towards, "I told you so" is perfect for ego tanning, right?
I think Jones is more than solid. He's in that tier below Megatron.
133 2100 and 18 TDS in 2 years time is more than solid.
you never pass up elite playmakers and difference makers in a draft.
Julio Jones already has 100 yards ..... on the Falcons' second drive ..... with 3:30 left in the first quarter.
just got the game on... saw the FG, how did the 7 get on ?
I don't think Greg Little has a 100 yard game in 2 years as a Brown.
I got a feeling Atlanta has too much for San Fran to overcome. a loud Georgia Dome doesn't help matters.
Kaepernick already looks out of sync.
Or it could be said Matt Ryan is 9 of 12 for 139 yards.
Julio Jones has to be glad he was drafted by a team with a good QB.
What would Jones' career stat line look like if he were a Brown? I garantee it wouldn't have 18 TDs.
It takes both positions to make the dance work. I honestly think Gordon can be our 'freak'. Let's find, or develop, the QB to make it happen.
Good was the more appropriate word, but "elite" is a bit of a stretch. The attention given to White and Gonzo (him in particularly on the breakdown drew both defenders) is a huge part of his success- even without mentioning Ryan. I have a hard time believing he'd be putting up anything near those numbers with what we've had at QB and how we have no one else to take attention away from him.
Jones smoked the secondary and their wasn't a DB within 10 yards of him
Watching the 9'ers pass block can be funny.
Iupati still sucks at pass blocking...good to know
9ers are toast the moment they HAVE to pass
Ryan looking fantastic slinging the ball around.
This same Falcons team blew a 20 point lead in a quarter.
This thing is far from getting out of hand.
Jones could be a 1,000 yd WR with just about anyone throwing him the ball.
he caught 90.8 % of his targets this year.
he has the best vertical leap of any WR in the NFL.
He's unreal.

Even Colt?
Niners like to come from behind. I dont think this is going to be a blow out.
even Colt. yeah Jones could average 66.6 yards a game.
even Greg Little had 700 yards with McCoy and Wallace.
Jones wouldn't have as many drops as Little.
sometimes WRs can make even make average QBs look good. WRs that are special that is.
Just clicking
Kaepernick's running ability made that TD run. Defensive end had to keep an eye on him and that helped James get going.
Iupati and Davis get too much love for the 9'ers. Iupati is pass protection alone makes him not worth his 1st round status. But hey, he's "all-pro", so it was a great selection! He's not even the best guard on his team.
9'ers making it look easy
With the help of Vernon Davis we now have a game in Atlanta.
Joke of a flag...Kaepernick didn't even care.
Way to influence a game refs
If Ryan would quit turning it over you wouldn't have that flag to worry about.

It's bad that he didn't care?
So you'd rather he be like Brady and whine and complain every time a defender comes near him?
I'm really hoping Atlanta can run more time off the clock and finish this drive with a TD
I again. Have no idea what a catch in the NFL is.
There's the give-back call then.
That was not a catch.
No reason Harbaugh needed to act like that. I do disagree about the call, though.

Uh. Maybe a trip to the SuperBowl being on the line has something to do with it?
Good teams overcome bad calls. Maybe they shouldn't have let up 24 points?
Wow. Great D. Good no call.
Are the Falcons the new late 80's Browns?
The Falcons continue to cement their reputation that they are as tough as Charmin...
Iupati is better than starting OG on the Browns.
he was part of that draft really helped ignite the turnaround in San Fran.
Davis,Iupati and Bowman.
and now you throw in some smart moves in free agency.wow what a concept, using FA to help fill needs. you go from 6-10 to Super Bowl appearance 3 years time.

Sorry to say, I think so too.
I like the Falcons, they are the closest NFL team to where I live, so I get or am forced to watch them.
I don't know what to say. I was hoping they would win
Yeah, I wanted them to win as well, though it's less about liking them and more about hating Jim Harbaugh, hehe.
what the heck is a yipi ki yay post game
Atlanta is not soft.
It's just I don't see a lot of talent on that defense. They have decent players but not a lot of studs if there are any.

I don't think they're soft.
I just don't think they have a defense.

Crazy what can happen when a guy gets to sit and learn a system.

He taught harbaugh the pistol
I have 3 thoughts to end the day.
1. Atlanta had 3rd down in the red zone, 16-14 yd line, down 4 points with a minute 43 to play. Matt Ryan had just been knocked down. I would have called a time out, I think they should have called a timeout on offense, even if they hoped to run out the clock after a td.
3rd and 4, 2 downs to get to the superbowl and your Qb has just been knocked down. Call a timout.
2. The Ravens beat Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady, now they'll face Colin Kaepernik.
3. Just to gloat. Back in August/September, ( At work) Jordan thought I was crazy to say RG3 was a better qb than Peyton Manning going forward from this point, and expecting a crazy answer asked who'd be in the Sb, Balt, and San Fran, because of the two harbaugh's.... and because whoever drafted LaMichael James.
This is the first time in my life, I can remember picking both teams right, going back to picking when I was 4, 1/2 yrs old. You're family forced you to pick a superbowl winner at 4 1/2 yrs, right? Pfft! Raised into a life of wasting so much of a lifetime on football, watching football.
Quote:

He had 131 against Arizona last year... but I know what you are saying..... I also know Greg Little isn't Julio Jones, but he's also never played with a QB who completes almost 70% of his passes and threw for 4700 yards... and he doesn't exactly have Gonzalez and White to take attention away from him...

Yep. I remember that. You're not crazy if you're right.

and his first year and part of last year, he dropped far to many balls. But he sure turned that around in the latter part of this past season. If he continues down that path, I can see where he could have a number of 100 yard games.
Exactly, there have been times when the offense (QB) seemed to have lost confidence in him... I will stress that he is not now, nor will he likely ever be, as good as Julio Jones... but if he can reach his potential and Phil Taylor can reach his potential, I don't think the argument of would you rather have that or Jones is quite as much of a slam dunk as Storm seems to think it is..
