Not up yet and wanna discuss
not sure why but i want NE
Sick of NE and Boston and their woe is us fans. They just won a World Series for crying out loud. Want KC to win but It will probably be NE.
Half the quarter is already gone and the patriots still have the ball on opening possession.
Talk about perfect execution.
yeah...they have the best qb/coach...i always root for the team that has the most ex browns..might be chiefs
Horrible defense by the Chiefs though. No pressure on Brady or blitzing at all.
pats gonna trick pat into anything?
erving shwartz and sorensen..
If the chiefs plan on coming out like that, this is gonna get ugly real quick.
Refs won't help KC against Billy and Tommy ...
chiefs are gonna have to run and quick pass
the more things change the more they stay the same
mahomes -14 yards passing
Brady just big ben’d that pass.
They’ve got their shot at that now.
Man, when Mahomes gets sacked, it’s for massive amount of yards.
pat missed his td...oh my
Man, when Mahomes gets sacked, it’s for massive amount of yards.
He seriously needs to learn when to give up on the play and get rid of the ball.
or pat needs to just live for another down....or fg
Mahomes sewing why regular season means nothing when you have to go through NE
Mahomes is looking awful.
Man, when Mahomes gets sacked, it’s for massive amount of yards.
He seriously needs to learn when to give up on the play and get rid of the ball.
he did it again too.
That frickin sux.......So much for Saints Chiefs.
Mahomes is looking awful.
maybe he pulls another 2nd half mayhem like in the regular season?
Boomer not holding back on the early game refs at halftime
Owners need to unite and do something about the officiating
Boomer not holding back on the early game refs at halftime
I like it too. He’ll never work for the NFL Network, but I think he knows that.
Mahommes only chance for a TD he overthrows
Just as I wrote that he hits a 54 yarder followed by a TD
No coach can come up with a defensive game plan like Belichick.
Skills showdown prob. Best part of probowl
That kicker should be priority one for fa
chiefs gonna make it a game?
Huge stop there by the chiefs
Leaving your feet ona 4th and one
Eldeman. Stupid decision.
He touched it with his thumb
Pretty sure he didn't actually touch it, or he would have dived for it.
There was not enough evidence to overturn that. It looked like it hit his fingertips on the one view.
Blow to the head on Edelman just ignored
Brady has 2 interceptions, tonight.
Somebody wanted it to be chiefs ball there, because one play later the chiefs intercepted it.
This challenge will be an incomplete pass, it's not even close.
Blow to the head on Edelman just ignored
It was a clean block not to the head
With 7:45 to play in the 4th, the Chiefs take their first lead of the day, 21-17.
Blow to the head on Edelman just ignored
It was a clean block not to the head
Lol no
And the refs give a phantom roughing call out of thin air.
ref magic again....we know who is gonna win now....wwe
But why would the NFL want the Pats in there at this point? Ratings would be higher without the Pats.
hitting brady on the shoulder is roughing the passer. nfl officiating is such a joke.
Breeze got hit in the face on the interception. No call. It was pass interference on the interception too
chiefs...false start...offensive interference...
Man oh man that Jackson DB for the patriots is getting cut after this game if they lose.
I'm not so sure I agree with that last call on him, but still
Reid is an offensive genius
The bar is super rowdy right now.
Drama
Drama
2 minutes is an eternity for TB tho
Brady with 2 minutes and 3 TOs...KC defense needs to step up again.
Brady builds to his legacy or is this the end of the run?
They need an int or fumble
The bar is super rowdy right now.
Drama
Drama
my sunday bar is closed..town got snowed in...
BB tossing tablets is something I enjoy every time I watch the pats. He’s been doing it for a while now.
Damn, Brady just went down the field in the blink of an eye.
Damn, Brady just went down the field in the blink of an eye.
Can't stand the pats but have to give props to Brady.... he's unbelievable
He’s going to get intercepted. That’s how this game will end.
New England screwed up calling timeout
The illegal pick play, that set up the chiefs big pass play, was what Bill was mad at apparently.
and it was a clear leveling of the db by the receiver.
Oh man, how do you put a little guy on gronk there with no help
Chiefs just had a turnover negated by penalty that would have sealed the game.
2 minutes ago, the Patriots had a turnover negated by a penalty that would have sealed the game the other way.
Gronkowski catches at the 5, NE down 4 less than a minute to play in the 4th.
Patriots run it in for a TD, 38 seconds to go.
That’s why you have to have some presence on defense to win
The patriots are great. But man this chiefs defense has been trash all season, and they’ve been horrible when it matters most.
Love or hate the pats what they are able to do is just legendary
39 seconds, they need a Field goal to tie it.
Patriots kicking off to the Chiefs.
39 seconds is a lot of time with this offense.
The best part about this game almost being over is we're done with Romo for the season. He's knowledgeable, but annoying as heck. Not Joe Buck annoying, but really close
I’ll predict a hail mail’ish type TD here.
We know Mahomes has the arm
Man I think kc might win this
All they got to do is run that pick play again, the refs allowed it last time.
KC is in field goal range. off an offsides
A phantom 5 minute time out,
lol, as if it made a difference
Crazy... two overtime games in championship weekend
Tie game, 8 seconds to go, Mahommes scored 10 in the final 4 minutes,
and the Patriots 7 in the final 2.
Romo hasn’t had a great game.
Crazy... two overtime games in championship weekend
Especially considering how bad the first playoff weekend was
Crap, KC scored 24 in that quarter!
Praying for a turnover...
Stupid Announcer, I don't know who Matthew Slater plays for, I don't know who gets the ball.
You have one job, Say who won the toss. Stupid announcers.
They kept saying the only other AFC championship OT was 1986, Denver and Cleveland.
Which game was that? Was that where they gave them the missed field goal?
Eldeman just can’t be stopped
That should have been a flg
This would be a great time for a sack
Pats to the 15 yd line, they go either Gronkowski or Edelman when its on the line.
We know what KC is going to be drafting
Pats to the 15 yd line, they go either Gronkowski or Edelman when its on the line.
And KC can't stop either
2nd and goal on the 2, you can almost taste it!
Great job patriots.
Chiefs defense? Y’all need to do some soul searching. That was embarrassing.
Can’t say I’m surprised. Pats unstoppable once the weather turns cold
Outside of the rigged game, great day of football
Chokey Reid strikes again.
Outside of the rigged game, great day of football
The NFL doesn’t want the Pats in. The would have wanted the Chiefs. This PROVES it’s not rigged.
should be a good superbowl
I haven't seen a win like that since George Forman won the heavy weight title at 65 years old,
75 years old??? I think he waa a hundred and ten years old!
Well I was 1-1 Today and 5-5 for the Playoffs ...
Pats going to another SB, gee, what a surprise.
should be a good superbowl
It's the Super Bowl the NFL wanted!
I am rooting for NE, Rams do not belong in the game. Saints got screwed.
I am rooting for NE, Rams do not belong in the game. Saints got screwed.
+1
I was just going to post the same thing.
I'll add that I hate the NFL for forcing me into rooting for the Pats.
I am rooting for NE, Rams do not belong in the game. Saints got screwed.
I agree
Pats D will own Goff. I saw him panic today, SB will be a whole new level.
I think this Super Bowl should be attributed to the zebras, "This Super Bowl brought to you by the Zebras"... bad calls/ no calls both games.
well, Pats/Rams ... just like Brady's first Super Bowl
Pats D will own Goff. I saw him panic today, SB will be a whole new level.

Yes, Goff sure showed his panic on the last plays of the game...

What about the Helderman fumble?
They tried to remove his head.
j/c...
point blank, the Chiefs do not deserve to go to the SB if you cannot play defense sorry you don't belong in the big game.
Unless you are the Rams and lose the game and then have the referees give you the game...smh.
Should have been a Brees, Brady Super bowl...now we got a team playing that can only beat you if they get the refs behind them. smh Sorry, but that ruined it for me and thought that to be an ebmarrassment to the NFL THE ENTIRE SEASON...decided on the poor job of referees...smh disgusting
I think Pats, Saints would be a better game and I agree the Saints got screwed. I think BB will be able to control Goff because that's what he does with young QB's. He did it at least in the 1st half of yesterday's game. By the way, did anyone notice Danny Shelton hardly played at all? Maybe he's not that good.
Exactly - call a damn timeout in OT to give your defense a rest. Idiot.
should be a good superbowl
No it won't...because EVERYONE outside of New England is SICK and TIRED of the Patriots. Now, if the Rams blow the Patriots out AND Brady retires, that would be an AWESOME Super Bowl.

I agree. The Patriots are obviously a great team, but I'm sick of 'em too.

Agree, and the Pats fans that will show up are obnoxious as hell.
I am rooting for NE, Rams do not belong in the game. Saints got screwed.
I could never root for the Cheatriots.
I have a great appreciation for football played the right way, therefore I have been a closet NE fan for many years. If they win, good,if they lose, too bad.I just enjoy watching them play.

This is what I don't get. All over social media AND here, people were complaining that the fix was in and the NFL wanted the Pats to win. You're either a fan of theirs, sick of them or like me, enjoy watching a historic dynasty even though I'm ready for it to be over. Meaning, most of the country is ready to not see them in the Super Bowl. Heck, a small amount will boycott the SB because they're in it again. The NFL wouldn't orchestrate the Pats into the Super Bowl again, on purpose. They'd be doing whatever they could to get the Chiefs in instead.
Exactly - call a damn timeout in OT to give your defense a rest. Idiot.
Reid never wins the big games, that’s why he was fired in philly. I suspect probably won’t here if he can’t win with that talent. They need defensive help though. You can’t have the best offense and the worst defense and think you’re going to win in playoffs.
That being said pats are love/hate for me. Hate all their bandwagon fans but respect what they’ve been able to do. Probably won’t ever see another dynasty like this in the FA era
I have a great appreciation for football played the right way, therefore I have been a closet NE fan for many years. If they win, good,if they lose, too bad.I just enjoy watching them play.
I agree. We are watching/witnessing history in color.
I hope that they win ... and like all old Hollywood heros ... ride off into the sunset. A new era is on the horizon.
I have a great appreciation for football played the right way, therefore I have been a closet NE fan for many years. If they win, good,if they lose, too bad.I just enjoy watching them play.
There are a lot of us out there. I get that some people are sick of them, BSPN seems to especially have it out for them, but there are a lot of us who respect what they've done over the years and appreciate good, sound football.
What I've seen from the Patriots over the last several years is not winning with superior talent. It's winning by being more clever, with solid/cunning coaching and game planning, accuracy and great decision making by Brady, and that sort of thing.
The Pats winning will never be like the Browns winning (to me anyway) but I've been pulling for them in the playoffs and will in the Super Bowl as well.
There's no reason to hate a player or team for being successful. Observe what they do and figure out a way to do it better.
j/c:
I had to work last night so I just watched some of this game late this morning then the rest of it this afternoon. It was very enjoyable to watch/really good game. Too bad the Patriots won, but they are a hard team to beat, so hats off to them.
The best part about this game almost being over is we're done with Romo for the season. He's knowledgeable, but annoying as heck. Not Joe Buck annoying, but really close
I have some bad news for you. CBS has the Super Bowl this year; Nantz and Romo are doing the broadcast. Personally, I thought he was spot-on during that final Patriots' drive, calling at least 3 key plays just before they happened.

There's always the mute button. I use it quite a bit for NFL broadcasts.
It is a matter of respect.
I respect them. I don't care who wins so much.
But to do what they have done is remarkable.
Best part about the Pats winning is that we won't be subjected to the irony of Pats fans complaining about the referees.
should be a good superbowl

I admire and respect the Pats. BB and Brady are two that are well heroes of mine basically my Post season guys that give me something to look for after the regular season is done and we establish where we are picking in the draft.
Maybe if the Browns were in the AFC Championship game or something and the Pats were like the Broncos voiding us out of the SB game. I would have a different view.
But BB was our last great HC he was fired by the evil doer who sold out and moved the Browns to Baltimore.
Brady a 6th round QB pick turns out to be the Best QB ever with possibly the exception of Otto Graham.
But in this day and age of Parity the two...BB and Brady have done amazing things. I see them treating the regular season as a practice session for them to set up for the POST SEASON...and they have everything under control and they GET BETTER, at the post season while other teams are trying to survive.
I don't know why so many fans HATE the Pats. Hey until our Browns are in the Post season mix...I respect these guys. Sad part is that probably both will retire before we get to beat them.
jmho
Why they're hated:
1. They win so much.
2. They cheat.
3. Belichick has the personality of a footstool (in public at least).
4. Brady screams at his teammates on the field and on the sideline, and seems to have a sense of entitlement. A good leader does not embarrass a teammate in public.
5. Joe Montana is the real GOAT.
5. Joe Montana is the real GOAT.
Sorry, but no ... 5 (going on 6?) > 4.

Hope Baker breaks that record!
Hope Baker breaks that record!
I'd be ecstatic with 1.
Dynasty BABY!!!
5. Joe Montana is the real GOAT.
Sorry, but no ... 5 (going on 6?) > 4.
Joe was 4-0 in SBs, and didn't throw a pick in any of them.
And now I'll really nitpick.
...Brady is barely above .500 and shouldn't have won in 2002 (tuck rule), and should have lost to Seattle and Atlanta were it not for coaching miscues.
Pick #199 has 5 Super Bowl rings on his fingers, playing the hardest position on the field. I’d say he’s over-achieved.
Say what you will but Otto Graham was 7-3 in 10 straight Championship games ...
Pick #199 has 5 Super Bowl rings on his fingers, playing the hardest position on the field. I’d say he’s over-achieved.
I think Montana was a QB also, so he played the hardest position on the field, as well.

Montana was like a flash fire, burned bright but not long. Brady’s burned all night, brightly.

If you consider 11 or 12 years not very long. He played at a very high level for over a decade, which was perfectly normal back then. Not many (and by that I mean nobody) has done it as long as Brady has.
They didn't protect QB's or put as big an emphasis on passing offense like they do now. I'd like to think some of the greats would have had similar success. No doubt in my mind had Marino played in this era and played for BB he'd probably have 6 rings by now. That dude is still to me the best QB to throw a ball
Joe was 4-0 in SBs, and didn't throw a pick in any of them.
5 > 4
I never understood why a player would be punished by advancing to the title game/series more than others (or having the longevity of a career that enabled him to play better longer). 4-0 is not better than 5-4 (probably soon to be 6-4). Had Montana been able to win more playoff games, he might have lost a few Super Bowls, but he couldn't get his team there that many times.
Ultimately, they're both on the Mount Rushmore of NFL great QB's. However, If I'm drafting one of them at 21, knowing how their career shakes out, I'm taking Brady without a bit of doubt.
Brady has the edge because he sustained this dominate QB play over a lengthy time of the league. NINE SB games, 9 that is freaking amazing and in an era that is more governed by PARITY.
That is why I mentioned Otto Graham besides being a HOMER but I believe (could very well be wrong) he played in 10 NFL CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES. Of course now a days the season is longer and there are many more contenders making it harder to get to the Big Game.
Btw, what exactly does GOAT mean, represent???

Well if you are going to make the unreasonable leap that QBs deserve all of the credit for winning super bowls without considering the 100 other factors in play that it takes to win in the NFL.... then I suppose you can also blame them unreasonably too.
I've seen the argument, "How many SBs does Tom Brady win without Belichick?" Which gets the obvious response, how many does Montana win without Walsh... and on and on it goes....
In the end, we are assigning full credit to one person, that which it took 80 people to accomplish...

I agree 100%..

It's kind of the Lebron vs Jordan argument. Everyone says Jordan is better because he went 6 for 6 in the Finals. As if that is the end-all-be-all or any comparison. He also lost in the first round 3 times and missed the playoffs twice. Lebron missed the playoffs in his first two years, but hasn't lost earlier than the 2nd round since then. In the same number of seasons, Jordan "averaged" a playoff exit deep into the 2nd round, while Lebron has averaged an exit early in the 3rd round. So while Jordan has more overall championship, you're more likely to get deeper into the playoffs with Lebron. And that's before you get into the whole, "Did Jordan ever have to play against super-teams in the playoffs" arguments.

It's a bar argument in the end. It's meaningless.
Sure, as you said, it's a team game, but for QB's, that logic gets thrown out the window sometimes (I suppose it also happens for NBA superstars too, as Excel pointed out). Brady gets "credit" for beating the Seachickens, but if Butler doesn't intercept the DUMBEST PLAY CALL in the history of sports, Brady loses that SB. Somehow, the credit ends up on Brady's resume. Heck, Peyton should have been to another Super Bowl but that stupid DB on the Broncos let that Raven WR get behind him, boom. That somehow gets on the "Manning can't win the big one" resume.
It doesn't make sense, but that's how the QB argument goes in a bar. Maybe that's how it only makes sense, it has to happen in a bar.
There are still people out there saying Marino is the best QB of all time. Are they wrong? Maybe or maybe not. I think each person gets to make up their own rules when forming that opinion. Would putting Marino with Bill win more Super Bowls than Tom? Does Tom have "IT" while Dan didn't? Who knows. I suppose you can only argue what did happen, not what might have happened.
Tom has 5 going on 6. Heck, he might get 7. It wouldn't shock me.
I'd like to see Baker get 1.

For the Lebron/MJ argument to truly work like Montana/Brady, Lebron's Finals records needs to be 7-2, not 3-6. But yes, it's generally the same thing. You'd still have people saying MJ's 6-0 would be better than Lebron's 7-2...but nobody is wrong or right. It's your opinion (and bias).
Personally, when the argument comes up here, I say Lebron has 3.5 rings. Winning in Cleveland counts for 1.5. Heck, Durant joining a team that would have probably won the last two titles should somehow count as .75. I'm not salty though, we got our ring and there are 20+ NBA cities that would give their left nut to have the four year run we just had.
I suppose you can only argue what did happen, not what might have happened.
No, no, no... all of the fun in the argument is the "what might have happened". Hypothetical equivalence is what makes this so entertaining..
Would Brady be the goat if he had spent the last 20 years with the Bills (and without Belichick)?
If Manning and Brady had switched teams for their careers, all other things being equal, what would have happened?
Those types of arguments are what makes this fun.. and what makes them REALLY fun, is when somebody in the group thinks they know the absolute right answer.
My favorite of those is switching Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith. Put Barry behind that O-line and with Aikman, he'd DEFINIETLY have more yards, TDs and rings than Emmitt, or so "they" say.
I don't buy it, but who knows.

Then instead of 3 super bowls, Aikman might have 5, which would put him in the running for GOAT.
Thanks, been bugging me for a while...lol
There is only one GOAT in my football Vocabulary:
JIM BROWN
Brady is the GOAT. Sorry. In the toughest sport to win multiple championships, Brady has won the most, and been to 9 Superbowls. That will never be beaten, until Baker makes 10
