I think the 9ers are fool's gold. I don't believe in Jimmy G. I expect that to be a close game.
Ravens are not as good as it seems. They are good but they haven't been tested. Them and the Steelers are a case study in continuity and stability and the success it breeds. Harbaugh isn't learning on the fly. Kitchens is. Big difference. I think Lamar is fine and I'm not a Lamar hater but he still hasn't answered his lingering questions. He still made plenty of poor throws in the Cardinals game. Lot of work for him to do yet still.
In addition to our great match-up w/the Rams, I am looking forward to watching the Ravens vs the Chiefs and New Orleans [w/out Brees] vs the Seahawks. The Steelers vs 49ers could be interesting. The Chargers are devastated by injuries, but their game against the Texans might be good.

I agree. BUT...you can say the same about us. Sunday night will reveal a lot about who we are and the physical/mental & intellectual team we have compared to the names in ink that inhabit a piece of paper.

I took the Steelers +6.5 and the Chiefs -6.5. The lines have since moved to +7 and -7 respectively.
The fact that we let the Titans score FORTY ONE points on us is a freaking embarrassment
Yep just about everyone knew titans were a below average team, despite how many tried to say they were solid to minimize the beating we took. And we had the whole summer to plan for that game
Yeah, I understand protecting the QB, but they are football players as well. Heck, many today are dual threat types, and get hit as a runner .... and that might be more dangerous.
I think all of the Browns players agreed with Jamal, including Baker.
I wasn't bad-mouthing the Browns or Baker. It was just a really bad call.
I think the worst part of the roughing calls on QBs are how inconsistent they are. I was watching a show this morning while working out and they showed Adams push on Baker and then showed the play where Chris Jones injured Foles. He picked Foles up and pile drived him w/all is weight on top of him. Adams got called for a penalty and was fined. Jones was not penalized or fined. It's crazy how often this stuff occurs.
The whole body weight rule needs to go away. It's gotten ridiculous.
They should just make the QB two hand touch. Like, you can still shove them or run into them with shoulder, but no need to wrap/bring them down. As soon as contact is made, whistle is blown.
Then players won't feel the need to fall on top of them to secure the tackle.
With all these penalties, it’s reminds me of watching a college basketball’s last minute of the game. No flow, constantly stopping and it feels like a different game. Baseball has more flow than this (ok, maybe that’s an exaggeration).
I was against the PI challenging. I think all challenges should be penalized 15 yards instead of a timeout. The replay stops the game and provides rest (or a break in the momentum). Hurt then with yardage and a first down if a challenge fails.
man how the hell did we get our doors blown off by this trash ass team?
Poor coaching. Poor QB play. Poor OT play.
Yeah, exactly ... and it seemed to snowball as the game progressed ... and we just got totally owned (and I never say this, but it started with coaching)
We gifted them a gajillion penalties which kept their offense alive and further stifled ours (on top of not getting into a groove at all on O). D got tired. Game was close until very late, and then the wheels came off. Score was close most of the game.
Judging by the game tonight, we just never elevated our game to where it should've been. Game was close until the 4th, though.
J/c..have any of you played much attention to the Titans? This is like what they do, ball out a game and then lay some eggs...that's how they seem to consistently finish like 9-7 every year.
Admittedly they got the bad end of the ref stick this game, the officiating seems to be at an all time bad level this year though. These roughing the QB calls are so inconsistent and I won't even comment on all of the holding calls
I have a little bit of a conspiracy theory when it comes to the refs.
I feel like they got together and had a secret meeting in their secret hiding place and basically said "we'll show them; we'll make it so unbearable no one will want to watch."

I agree, it was "close" either way on Adams, I would not have questioned it if a flag wasn't thrown, but I didn't question it since it was.
I will say though, we had leading up to that game all the talk about dirty hits and Greggs defense from OBJ, and then you had the play where adams came in late on obj when he was wrapped up by another guy and adams came in to land a little extra. I easily could see the refs throwing that flag to say "hey, this aint going to get out of hand" and wanted to put a stop to it before it started.
I'm surprised the Patriots are favored by that much. Sure they are clear favorites over the Jets. But if one looks at history, the Jets usually game plan for them very well and usually give them a pretty good game. Not always, but more times than one would think.
I'm interested in watching the KC vs Baltimore game.
Watching the Baltimore and Cincy games on split screen. Baltimore looks like a contender and Jackson is much better than I thought he would be. But I still think he will burn out with all the running. Hits will take a toll.
Baltimore is going for every gamble today. Going for 2. Going for every 4th & short. Bit 'em in the ass just then, and I hope it keeps biting them all day.
To be honest I dont know. I dont pay attention to them much until the playoffs because they usually get in. All I notice is some games they look really good, and other games they look awful.
These announcers are making Buffalo world beaters ... They came from behind to beat the Jets 17-16 they beat a bad Giants team 28-14 and now a bad Bengals team ...
I already feel bad for Lamar Jackson's joint pain after he retires. Dude is running himself into the ground.
Guy makes plays though because he's hard to bring down. Anytime it goes to backyard football mode, it's advantage Jackson.
He didn't throw the ball well today.
Oh for sure, right now it's helping his team. I'm saying I feel bad for him later on as a human being. Still better than not getting paid millions to play a game tho :-P
Watching some of these other games makes me feel better about our chances in the next 5 weeks and beyond especially when we get healthy and Baker gets back to being Baker ...
SF running too much time off the clock here, gonna give PItt the last possession.
These two things do not make sense together.
Yes they do.
There was 6:30-ish on the clock when they took over possession.
You want to either run the clock out entirely, which is hard to do because the field is so short, so in that case you want to take shots at the end zone and leave enough time that if Pitt can drive for a FG you still have ~1 minute for a return FG drive.
If they got it on the 40 it would be a different story because you could just run the clock out entirely. We'll see tho, maybe they'll manage to run it out cuz of all these penalties eating up extra time.
The Steelers are losing by four in the fourth quarter of a game where they have a +3 turnover differential. Did they replace Mike Tomlin with Hue Jackson?
Bad. He took a running back second overall. He took a QB he could have gotten in the middle/end of the first round with the sixth pick. Unless he is smarter than everyone, his pressers reveal he is drafting for a team in 1992 not 2019.

He also signed OBJ to a huge extension and then traded him eating a ton of dead money.
So the Ravens came back and made it respectable against the Chiefs but got dominated most of the day... we played back and forth and lost on the last play to the Rams.. so what does that tell us about next week? Nothing.. other than what we already know, IF we can clean up the mistakes, we CAN beat the Ravens.

I don't see this happening for the following reason.
Freddie and Baker have not been able to out coach, out scheme, out think, or out execute a team with a winning record, and they will be going against a team with a winning record and a veteran coaching staff that consistently out coaches, out schemes, out thinks, and out executes opposing teams.
I only read page 9 in regards to yesterday's games, but...
--I really enjoyed watching Mahomes vs Lamar. These two guys are special. They are fun to watch. I think Mahomes is the best qb in the NFL right now. Lamar makes things happen. Those are two good teams and KC is still my Super Bowl favorite.
--Philly blew their game. Dropped passes, dumb mistakes, poor protection.
--Buffalo gets the most out of their talent. Allen is improving.
--Rosen actually looked okay despite his poor stats. Man, they dropped a lot of passes. I am not sure how focused Dallas was, though.
--Daniel Jones was impressive.
--The Chargers are really beat up. That's a shame.
--I love D. Watson. Great kid and he is much better than I thought he would be.
--D. Cook is so explosive. He breaks spectacular runs every week.
--J. Brissett looked good and Indy is playing some good ball.
--Carolina looked better w/out Cam.
--S. Payton is one of the game's truly great coaches. He did a great job of putting Teddy in good positions and didn't ask him to do things he isn't capable of.
--SF tried to give the Steelers the game, but Mason didn't take it.
So, the Bears dont have near the talent that we do ... and their FORMATIONS and PLAYCALLING just scored an EASY TD in the red zone ... take notes Freddie
