I hesitate to post this only because I'm sure it's somewhere else on here, but I'll be damned if I can find it.

The NFL has said teams can have players in starting today as long as they follow local and state guidelines.

Has anyone heard of that's the case with the Browns?
Colts plan to start "gradual and deliberate" opening of facility Tuesday - ProFootballTalk

Teams front offices may re-open, but no coaches or players, unless they are rehabbing injury with team personnel.

Thanks Ytown. Is no news good news? LOL
I suspect that they have to get union approval to move forward with players, given the circumstances.

Funny you should mention that., I was watching NFLN last night and they indicated that that is part of the process.

I think so. I was reading something by Treeter. All the players are concerned. They aren't going to play if it isn't safe.

While social distancing is the recommendation by health departments, I don't see how players can play or fans can be in the stadium.

I can see how NASCAR can start up. The drivers are in their own cars. 4 guys on 4 wheels, 1 on the gas can, 1 scrubbing the windshield, a Jackman, and 1 picking debris off the radiator. They can maintain some space.

Still no fans in the stands.

In football, it is hard to maintain space.

I can see golf and tennis kicking back in gear. You can maintain space.

Probably not badminton or pong though.

Didn't miss them in the first place. I just saw last night some "pro" wrestling. Two in and out of the ring, a ref, and no fans. About maybe a dozen folks watching, waving fists, hollering, but what was weird(er, I guess), was the thing had full crowd noise on top of this almost empty place. Just weird.

And I still miss sports.

Statement from EVP/COO Dave Jenkins on Browns' Phase 1 of return to facilities

https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/sta...n-to-facilities
Statement from Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer Dave Jenkins on Browns' Phase 1 of return to facilities:

"Following the league's instruction that team facilities could reopen on May 19, pending government approval and adherence to NFL regulations, we targeted June 1 as the start date for Phase 1 of our employee return to Berea and FirstEnergy Stadium. Since early March, we have worked closely with medical experts at University Hospitals to discuss COVID-19 and implement best practices and comprehensive hygiene protocols at both facilities that emphasize the health and well-being of our employees, their families and the entire community.

"During the past two weeks, we thoroughly reviewed all of the parameters and recommendations in place to ensure the responsible and safe reopening of our facilities. As planned, they will reopen to a limited number of employees beginning on Monday. We are proud of our entire staff's collective efforts and productivity while working from home, and our return to the building marks an important step as we continue to diligently prepare for the 2020 season. In addition to adhering to all league and government guidelines, we will continue to evaluate COVID-19 developments with University Hospitals while creating safe environments for when additional Browns employees are permitted to return."

I wonder how long protocols like that will be in place. If we have a decent summer without a significant spike, I wonder if the mask wearing will ease up.

And how would you even play a game? I guess all the players would be tested beforehand?
It looked like she was pressing the "no touch" thermometer to his forehead, creating the very cross contamination that a "no touch" thermometer is supposed to eliminate, lol

Not sure.

Nathan Zegura said that coaches of some teams were not coming back until July.

Yeah, I'd imagine players will be tested quite a bit.

Five players from Alabama tested positive.

Hopefully, this does not turn into another MLB situation.

I don't care too much about games right now... I just want to see guys on the field practicing!
