...so yeah, Lions have a 25 year playoff win drought. We knew that, but they just mentioned that 1957 was their last road playoff win. Anybody want to guess when ours was? I had to look it up because I didn't think I've ever seen one (!!--STOP reading if you want to guess==!!).
Feel bad for Oakland...got to play their Rookie who was not prepped to play this year and didn't take snaps with the ones or even scout O.
Oh and face the #1 Defense in football...lol Welcome to our World...lol
thought that play calling in the beginning was stupid. Run up the middle and nothing but screen passes...Gee ya think the Texan's D was ready for a screen.
Defense can win a Championship. Too bad the Texan's O sucks, yesterday was about as good as it gets.
Lions...didn't stand a chance either as Seahawks has their D dialed up to good form.
I knew Cook would have a rough go. Their LT was out. Their backup T was out. And they were facing a very good defense. Like others, I felt bad for Oakland and I don't even like them.
On the other hand, while I don't like Osweiler, I was relieved to see him not completely sucking. He had a lot of pressure on him.
P.S. Clowney looked great yesterday - a beast on the field.
Screw em... They were in the playoffs..had a 12 win season... And when Carr gets healthy will have their franchise qb back... I don't feel sorry for them at all....
I kinda think the "ball crossing the plane" rule is lame. I mean, just looking at Bell's right there it barely, like an inch, crosses "the plane". It would be more interesting if a touchdown were more like rugby...the scoring player literally touches the ball down in the end zone box.
In rugby where the ball is placed also determines the extra point angle.
Houston vs NE (most likely a blow out) Pitts vs Kansas City - could be a good game depending on big bens injury Seahawks vs Falcons - Seahawks defense against the Falcons offense could be interesting And Packers vs Cowboys which should be the best game of the weekend

The Pats game opened with a line of 16.5, biggest since 1989. I think it'll grow too. Brady will make that very good Texans defense look silly. Blowout.
Pitts will destroy the Chiefs. Alex Smith, not a fan.
I have no idea about the Seahawks/Falcons. Could be a great game with 80+ total points. I'd want the Falcons. So tired of Seattle's "12" fans.
Packers/Cowboys, dang....that could be really good. I don't like rooting for the Cowboys, but it's an easy thing to get over if the Packers are playing.
--Pittsburgh's 3 B's are so darn good. They have a chance against anyone w/those three.
--I have never seen a RB hesitate, and even stop, like Bell does. It's almost unbelievable. And it almost always works. I'm serious. I have NEVER seen anything close to it.
--Harrison is amazing for his age. He was dominant in the game. He pressured the qb, stopped the run, and maintained outside containment. Guy is a freak of nature.
--I am worried that Nelson might have broken his ribs in the second game. That would be a big loss.
--Rodgers is the best qb in football. The guy's pocket presence is uncanny. He buys so much time by moving up, back, and to the side. And that arm........oh my goodness.

Yes, isn't Bell somethin' else? A real trip to watch play. What technique he has. It will be interesting to see if he is copied.
You must of hit the SAP button on your remote. Or if they asked if you wished to hear in Spanish you hit the select button by mistake.
???
Again a back up QB Moore not ready for the big game and they were in it but made the mistakes at the worst time.
His RB knocked the ball out of his hands in one of those fumbles. They just made those mistakes and the Steelers took advantage of them...Oh and the Steelers had their usual REF breaks in the beginning of the game as well...lol
Giants WRs should have stayed in Miami...they dropped a lot of key passes early on to have the Packers take over the game and that last second Hail Mary at the half hurt...welcome to our world.

I agree on Bell ... its incredible how he literally stops behind the line ... looks around and then darts through the hole if it's there ... NEVER seen anything even close to it ... I find myself screaming at the tv .. "what r u doing .. run u jackass" .... then 8 yards later i'll be saying to myself .. "damm that guys good" .... *L* ...
Ben struggles on the road ... and he has been making more bad decisions and throws this year than in years past ... i wonder if he's starting to decline??? ...
I expect KC to handle them as Pitt is not a good road team ....
What Rodgers did against what IMO is the best D in football was pretty incredible ... especially w/o nelson the 2nd half ... losing cromartie was big ... but he still was incredibly impressive ... Rodgers is playing as good as anyone that ever played the game right now ... he's carried them the last 2 months ...
Losing Nelson would be a big loss ...
He still has Adams and Cobb ... Adams is VERY UNDERRATED ... he's one hell of a receiver ...
Looking forward to next weekends games ... should be much better than this weeks crap ...

Hey, that Taylor Gabriel isn't too bad with a real QB.
Didn't we have a chance to get that Julio Jones fella? Oh yah, we traded that pick away, huh, we would have let him go after a couple years, anyway...oh well.
The Cleveland Falcons have taken full advantage of the Browns' ineptitude. Maybe we'll trade the first pick to them and they can add another great play-maker like Julio and we can take another worthless NT by the likes of Taylor.
if you don't have a offense that can put up 23 to 26 points a game you can forget about making the playoffs I hope Hue can realize that funny how the Falcons took on 3 players from the North and all 3 became integral in the Falcons journey so far

Have you watched the Texans... I know they are in a terrible division which is why they made the playoffs.... But they average like 17 points a game... Just have an amazing defense..
the Texans have a very good defense but I will take a elite qb beating a very good defense every day all day. you just can't ride a defense to the Super Bowl any more
Brock is so frustrating to watch. This Texans D and playmakers are outstanding, and he just doesn't push the ball downfield at all. And the ONE time he did, Fuller dropped a dime in the end zone.
Brady seems off tonight. He's playing great, and the picks aren't really on him, but is it just me or do most of his throws seem like they're floating? I always remember watching Brady just whip the rock around the field. Now it just looks like it's floating everywhere (albeit, extremely accurate and effective).
No, I'm seeing it too and I don't really have an eye for this kind of stuff. It's almost as if Brock's field vision doesn't extend beyond 15 yards from the pocket. He just won't throw or even look out there.
I noticed a 3rd and 5 earlier where Hopkins got passed to the safety 1-on-1 and had most of the middle of the field wide open. Any NFL QB is salivating for that chance. They'd loft it up and pick up 30-40 yards and possibly 6 points....but Brock never looked and chose a 3 yard pass that fell behind the WR.
It's almost funny to say, but the Texans should have won this game. They made mistakes, couldn't score without Brock's mistakes and were daring the Texans to go deep.
Even with the game over, I'm watching because of the 16.5 line. A lot of people thought the Pats would kill them by 30...Vegas was right (as of now).
As for Brady, this is a good Texans defense. They're getting in his face, knocking him down and there seems to be a bit of rust as well. If the Steelers win tomorrow, I hope Brady wakes up because Pittsburgh would destroy tonight's Pats team.
--It's irritating to see all the ex-Browns winning w/the Falcons. Remember all the posts on here that said stuff like: The Browns won 3 games last year, how good could any of those players be?" LOL....
--Shanny is a genius when it comes to his play design and route tree. Oh, the route tree thang...."That" got a laugh out of it and used it over and over and over. Still laughing? Anyway, I don't know if he would be a great HC, but he is the most innovative OC in the NFL, and of course, the Browns alienated him and didn't want him.
--Seattle played dirty. And they hold on every play when they are on defense. Sherman gets away w/murder.
--Seattle's OL blows. Can't win w/an OL that is that bad.
--Atlanta has improved on D and they are fast, but they are not that good and will get exposed.
--Mack really solidified that OL. He is truly a great player, despite what so many people said on here.
--Houston's D is legit. Mercilus is a great player. I liked him coming out of Illinois, but he has exceeded my expectations. He is so fast, so versatile, so disruptive.
--Losing Demps hurt Houston.
--Osweiler played okay in the first half. The game got away from them in the second. His delivery is funky. Very compact. I always wonder if being that tall is almost a detriment. He almost throws the ball like a dart rather than w/a traditional motion.
--Lewis is a difference maker. Banner traded for him the year we traded the bum, TRich. People forget about that. Too bad he got hurt here, although Farmer probably would have cut him anyway.
--Eddleman is one of the toughest guys in all of football. He takes no crap from anyone and is constantly kicking ass.
--Brady is great, but I get sick of him complaining about getting hit. He is afforded more protection by the refs than any player in the league.
--I have one question: What was 40 talking about when he said the Steeler/KC game is boring and has too many commercials?
Osweiler for as tall as he is doesn't drive the ball downfield.he has the mechanics of a schoolyard qb..
Belichek does a great job of riding a hot player for 4 quarters. I've never seen a offense where aa many players have had a multiple tds game. Blount...one week...Lewis... Tim Wright a couple years back...Bennett....
The Falcons offense is on par with the Steelers everyone gets involved before it was White and Jones now any of 5 playears can score at any time
Today should be exciting day in the NFL. Both games have the making of a classic.
My nephew was born in KC and now lives in Boston. For his birthday his girlfriend bought him tickets for this game! So, he flew in yesterday. Lucky man!
Seattle's OL is the worst. Wilson has not looked himself not a good game for him.
Ryan has played amazing. Mack has done their OL wonders. Bad 2015 in Shanny's first year. What a difference year two makes and two additions Mack and Gabriel knew the O.
Those RBs as WRs are tough match ups.
Pats made some very key mistakes or that game was a laugher. Game plan against Brady and other great QBs is no surprise...hit him and hit him often.
TE miss match not there due to injuries...so the Pats go with RB miss matches in the passing game.
Happy for Dion Lewis he has had a tough go with injuries.
Thought BB was going to rip off the head of that DB who got the 15 yard penalty after stopping the Texans.
Pats took away the running game and had the Texans throw a lot more than they wanted to. The many air reps exposed their QB.
I'm disappointed that the Chiefs vs Steelers got moved to prime time. I like 1PM starts because I'm not in my "Sunday night, staring down the barrel of another work week mood" yet. Now I'll probably just skip it.
Sickens me to think we're going to have to watch a Steelers vs. Packers Super Bowl, again.
Go, Pack, go. Only thing sickening here to me is this Stooler talk.
I know a few on here like the Pack because they're a small market like us...but Packer fans are the most arrogant NFL fans I've ever come across. Plus, they've essentially been an elite team for what feels 15 years. I'm done with them, Pats too.
Steeleer fans tend to be more bandwagony, not all of them. It seems like you could walk up to half of them and ask to name 4 active Steeler players and they wouldn't be able do it past Ben, Bell & Brown.
They're my two least favorite teams in the NFL. Ravens and Bengals are behind the Packers.
I'm rooting for the Falcons. Partly because they are from Atlanta and partly because they are the only likeable team left. At least, likeable to me. I cant stand any of these other teams. The Chiefs are borderline ok.
If the Browns had drafted him, he would have been booed out of the stadium after his first poor start. Fans and Cleveland talking heads would have said he doesn't have it. He's a bust.
Romo needs to go to Denver or the Texans. Win now.
Houston have too much invested in Brock. They wont make that trade now. It would be admitting failure.
They've already benched Brock in favor of Savage. If Savage wouldn't have gotten concussed, he would have started both playoff games. It's over for Brock there and everyone knows it. They'll make a move for a QB this offseason. Brock won't be the opening Texans starter next year.
There was rumor talk, only by a few in the media, that the Browns would trade for Brock just to eat his salary next season. We'd get their first or second and they'd walk away from the contract since we have so much cap space. Essentially, we'd be buying a pick off of them. Not sure if we'd play him, but it would save the Texans from having him walking the sidelines in an obvious awkward situation.
After watching him last night, I don't think I'd want him anywhere near our team. He's so frustrating (unless we would immediately cut him).
I remember in the preseason I said how.impressive Dak looked right out the gate and the experts kept on saying "wait till he plays a real NFL defense.....or its only preseason " where are they at now?
God what it would be like to have a QB like that...
I just looked at the top 10 of that draft. Oh my...
1 1 San Francisco 49ers Alex Smith †QB Utah MWC 1 2 Miami Dolphins Ronnie Brown †RB Auburn SEC 1 3 Cleveland Browns Braylon Edwards †WR Michigan Big Ten 1 4 Chicago Bears Cedric Benson RB Texas Big 12 1 5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Carnell "Cadillac" Williams RB Auburn SEC 1 6 Tennessee Titans Adam "Pac-Man" Jones †CB West Virginia Big East 1 7 Minnesota Vikings Troy Williamson WR South Carolina SEC from Oakland 1 8 Arizona Cardinals Antrel Rolle †CB Miami (FL) ACC 1 9 Washington Redskins Carlos Rogers †CB Auburn SEC 1 10 Detroit Lions Mike Williams WR USC Pac-10
I remember in the preseason I said how.impressive Dak looked right out the gate and the experts kept on saying "wait till he plays a real NFL defense.....or its only preseason " where are they at now?
During the college season last year we were in bar with a handful of Browns fans talking about QBs and my dad says "I think the Browns should go for Dak Prescott at Miss St.". He was boo'ed, hissed and laughed at for publicly saying it.
It's all good dad....you got the last laugh on everybody.
I have to question Dallas wasting a down on their last possession. One, they preserved more time for Rodgers and two, they should have just run a play. Don't like that at all.
They should have been playing for the win anyway. "Play for the tie, you die."
that was a very entertaining game, even with GB brown-like secondary,(gunter probably isn't welcome in that state) shows you can win with an elite QB, he doesn't have anyone special at WR, but he elevates everyone. I think he's the most complete QB in game. Pack vs Patriots, not sure why people keep saying steelers, they don't scare anyone

And they have a WR who converted to RB earlier in the season (#88).
How come every time I watch a chiefs game its always so hazy in the stadium?
I went to college in KC and it is often foggy in the winter. It is SO flat and it is on a river so the fog lingers. If it is not that then it must be all the BBQ!
KC lost without allowing their opponent to score a TD.
That's just sad.
Alex Smith is about as undynamic as it gets. Having him is the equivalent of being in NFL purgatory. Good enough to not want to make a change and hold out hope, but not good enough to elevate the play of those around him when it really matters.

There's a reason Harbaugh left his ass on the bench when Kap took over in San Fran.
People give Alex Smith credit for being "smart." He made a lot of bad throws. Granted, his WRs screwed the pooch, but I didn't see a lot of smart throws tonight. He looked like an athlete trying to play QB.

I've had a sneaking feeling for months. Pittsburgh is the most complete team and will win the Super Bowl.
When I saw the holding call on the 2 point conversion I was worried it was going to be very questionable. I thought, that is such a Steelers thing to happen, to get a ticky tack call in that moment. Then they showed it and I was somewhat relieved that it was a very obvious call.
i haven't seen the line yet, but I assume NE will be a slight (3-4 point) favorite. I'd put some money on Pittsburgh. I strongly feel they're going to win.
Two great games yesterday. I love watching competitive football games. Some thoughts:
--Rodgers is the best QB in football. I think he deserves his own little section:
*I loved when the RG went out of the game w/a broken chin strap. Rodgers unsnaps his and plays a play w/out it. Then, he gives that cocky little grin, says something, and puts it back on. LOL...that was hysterical.
*He is the coolest, most confident QB I have ever seen. It's as if he lives for the big moment. He is smiling on many plays. Looking unfazed at other times. Cool as hell all the time. I think he gives his teammates confidence by just how cool and confident he is. It's remarkable.
*Dude can throw lasers w/out setting his feet and from all arm angles. What a gift. That last pass to Cook was a great example of that. Rolling left, feet not set, not a full delivery, 3/4 motion, and throws a dart that hits the bulls eye. Man!
--Back to the rest. Speaking of Cook, that was an incredible catch. Looked it in, secured it, and somehow kept both feet in. That's a TE we are talking about, folks.
--Other guys like Cobb and Montgomery really stepped-up.
--GB's secondary is really beat up and not playing well.
--Zeke is a true beast. He can do everything you want--and more--from the RB position.
--Dak is very good. The thing that strikes me about him is his poise. I don't ever remember seeing a rookie QB look so poised in a big-time atmosphere. He also has a nice arm and is smart when he scrambles. Comes across a very good leader. He's going to be a good one.
--Both FG kickers were clutch.
--Man, what a great game. That's why I love football!
--The second game was not as exciting in regards to offensive explosion, but it was a hard-fought game between two very physical teams. Sad to see it end due to a hold. That dude was a former first overall pick.
--I think Ben is hurting physically. He isn't moving well at all.
--Bell is the most amazing RB ever. We have talked about his style before, but man, it still confounds me as to just how well it works.
--Did anyone see Brown's speed on that last catch that secured the win? Wow!
--Hill's speed opened up a lot of things for KC because Pittsburgh had to honor that speed.
--Andy Reed is a great play designer. I was talking about Shanny's play design the other day, and I have to say that Reed rivals Shanny in terms of pure play design. Very creative.
--With that said, some of his play calls baffled me. Should have gotten Smith on the move a bit more and gave him a run/pass option. Dude doesn't look like it, but he can run very well.
--Imagine if a Brown's coach would put a DE on Antonio Brown like KC did w/Houston? LMAO.........he'd be fired before he made it out of the locker room.
--Should be a couple of excellent match-ups next week. The Divisional Playoff Round is my favorite weekend because there are 4 games, but Conference Championship is right behind it. Looking forward to it!
I appear to be in the minority here, but I think the love for Rodgers is over the top. I think he's awesome, and he's proven to be awesome over and over again, but I don't think he's as good as people keep saying. I won't say I predicted it, but I started noticing some flaws in his game a couple of years ago and I was questioning him before it was popular earlier in the year and before his recent resurgence. I think he has happy feet and does his dancing long before it's needed. He usually gets credit for this "pocket presence" because he turns that dancing into something productive, but that happy feet was also why he was in a funk the last couple of years.
And now you have a poll on ESPN asking if he's the greatest QB in the game today and 95% of the ESPN responders say overwhelmingly "yes". Yet you have this guy named Brady who's playing in something like his 6th straight conference championship.
To be clear, I think Rodgers is absolutely one of the best today and one of the best of all time. That last play was amazing. He makes a lot of amazing plays. I just think the love affair is a bit over the top. Heck, his poor play was a reason it even came down to the wire yesterday. The pick on the throw to Adams was a terrible throw and really breathed life into Dallas.
Again, I think the guy is awesome and a HOFer. I just think the love affair is a bit over the top.
IMO He's a better all around QB than Brady, Brady has had the benefit of being on a dynasty team, Rodgers always seems to have to throw to rookies and PS guys because they can't keep anyone healthy, same with their oline, last 7-8 weeks including postseason he's thrown 24tds to 1 int, he has like 5 seasons of 30+td with less than 10 int. I think why people put brady ahead of him is his post season success, and rightfully so, but Rodgers is only 33, he's got some time left to prove it in postseason.
I appear to be in the minority here, but I think the love for Rodgers is over the top. I remember you saying that and I remember disagreeing w/you then. I still disagree w/your take.
Yes, I see him bouncing around and moving all over in the pocket. But, what you see as "happy feet," I instead see as a guy who manipulates the pocket in order to buy more time for his receivers to come open.
Rish............you gotta notice how calm his demeanor is, right? You do notice how he is smiling all the time, right? You do notice that cocky grin he gives, right? You do notice how he is not flustered in big-time moments, right? You do notice how he will take a hit while delivering the ball, right?
--Brady has the same 5 seasons of 30+, less than 10 Ints and would have had a 6th this year if it wasn't for the suspension. The guy threw 2 ints this year. He had a season with 50 TDs.
--Brady has done it multiple times with multiple supporting casts. When his receivers are really good, his stats are off the charts i.e., Moss and Gronk. When he doesn't have those guys he raises the play of everyone else and his stats are still All Pro level. The team doesn't miss a beat without their best offensive players.
--Has Brady ever had any type of stud RB? Most Patriot game plans are built on Brady's arm.
--Rodgers has enjoyed the same consistent coaching staff that Brady has. GB's FO is consistently lauded as one of the best in the league.
Again, this isn't to say Rodgers isn't awesome or isn't deserving of praise. It's merely to point out its over the top. Vers mentioned Rodgers calmness and coolness in the clutch. Just two short years ago Brady owned one of the greatest defenses in the modern era in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl, the biggest of all stages after it looked like Seattle was going to get their second Super Bowl win.
Since then Brady has continued his stellar play and you still have an ESPN poll asking if Rodgers is the greatest football player in the league.
Again Vers, I'm not saying the guy isn't great or isn't clutch, but he's enjoying some over the top praise when you've got a guy who in my opinion is better and kind of forgotten. I mean that stupid poll on ESPN was just over the top.
Rodgers has led his team to one Super Bowl. He's enjoyed consistency in the coaching ranks and FO. Their FO is lauded as one of the greatest. He's always had great receivers to throw to.
I don't disagree with you that he's great. We can agree to disagree on the happy feet thing, but even when I had that criticism I would never dispute that he's great. I just think it's a bit much. Especially when you have a guy that's been doing it better and longer, IMO.
fyi, just looked the spread .. it's NE -5.5. I'm all over Pitt
I'm not following this line of thinking. I don't think Pitt has a chance.
I think Pitt is the better team with better players. They're hitting their stride. Good enough defense. Run the ball better. Better weapons.
Of course it's in NE and they have Brady/Belichick.
I just think Pitt wins though.
Pitt is not even close to being a better team than NE. You're in battered Brown fan syndrome where you expect the worse, including your biggest rival having success.
Rish...........Brady is generally considered the GOAT. Not Rodgers. The latter is starting to enter the conversation.
It's not over the top. It's just the way it is. Two great QBs. Both get lots of love.
Btw---------why even read an ESPN poll? It's most young and dumb people voting. What they say means as much as the vote that put's a guy in the All Star game even though he has missed most of the season.
And Rish..........do you see my point about the "happy feet" thing or not?
Said a long time ago they should have played Romo more in that last 4 game he is more aware of the playoff intensity. Although Dak made a valiant effort at the end. It should not have been that tough of a game. Not saying Dak is not their future...he is but he is a rookie I knew it was going to be tough for him.
As for the trade for ROMO people. One thing about ROMO is he "DOES" have very small hands...which maybe indoors at Dallas but he would not fare that well here. Note he fumbles a lot. I know its a bit iffy for some but he has smaller hands than anyone we ever talked about.
Dak played great. Hell, he is one of the major reasons they were even in the game. The Dallas defense got shredded by Green Bay. The Cowboys lost because of some dumb penalties and that..........not because of Dak.
I guess it wasn't really a poll. It was ESPN insiders giving their take. It wasn't your general run of the mill fan although many of the ESPN insiders are morons.
In regards to the happy feet thing, I never viewed it as buying time. It didn't appear that way to me, but this is an untrained eye. I'm not saying you're wrong but the only way for me to have my opinion changed is I would have to go back and watch some of those games and I'm not sure that's going to happen.
Damn really? Man I thought that could've been the best fit for him.
Thomas and sanders with Romo throwing them the ball? Eww. They would've been right back to being a top contender in the AFC as long as he stayed healthy.
The jets seem good. Marshall rides for his QB, decker coming back from injury and the emergence of Onu is a good receiving corp.
What's your picks? I think the jets is good. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Texans and Bears tried to get him.
You can certainly trot them out there next season. Especially if they think the QB class in 2018 is worlds better.
Man, do you guys want to win or not?
You're OK with tanking another season because the 2018 QB draft class might be better. And even if it is, we might not be in a position to draft any of them.
Make the team better now. Let's try to turn the corner.

Pitt is not even close to being a better team than NE. You're in battered Brown fan syndrome where you expect the worse, including your biggest rival having success.
We'll see. You may be correct. If NE had Gronk I'd tip it towards them. We'll discuss after next Sunday
Keep in mind, there's no gap between the QBs. Pittsburgh heavily relies on a massive gap between Ben and the opponents QB. They won't have that this Sunday. New England is a complete team.
Playoff football you get to see the best teams go at it. Great players on a big stage.
You see quarterbacks like Wilson, Ryan, Brady, Rodgers, and Ben. You know what to expect from guys like that.
Osweiler, Smith, Prescott and Wilson lost. Osweiler is not going to get it done in Texas. But you can see the Texan defense is serious. Seattle ran into a hot team in Atlanta. KC blew too many chances to win.
Have to say I was very impressed with Dak Prescott. Giant stage for a rookie and he played big. He made many terrific plays in a tough game. Loved how he came back after the pick. He is going to be very good.
Ben and Brady they just wait for the right spot and then beat you. Great players in the clutch.
Matt Ryan is having a season for sure. Smart poised guy who is leading the Falcons. Kyle knows offense.
Brady shows no signs of change. He knows the game so well. His record is a record of results. He wins.
Been watching football for quite awhile from Johnny Unitas on.
Looking at quarterbacks. Each guy has his own signature. His way to play the game. Bernie showed that.
However, I have not seen a guy like Aaron Rodgers. He plays quarterback like a shortstop. He can make throws from different body positions like no one I have seen. Across his body, off his back foot falling away, on the run off one leg. He can go in any direction and make a throw. He not only can make the throws but with mustard or touch as required.
I am not someone who will say this guy is the greatest etc. You have your top guys they are all great.
I will say that Rodgers can make plays like no one else. Maybe Brady, Montana or someone else would make a different play and still beat you.
It is kinda funny that the only other guy that comes to mind as a playmaker like Rodgers is Farve.
One last thing from watching the playoffs. Those who somehow think that Griffin or Kessler are the answer better think again. The Browns have a long way to go. It starts at quarterback but it goes much deeper as well.
Thanks for getting this back to about the Playoff games.
And btw............awesome post. I agree w/almost all of it.
I can't say who is the GOAT. Too hard to do. Johnny U was my favorite ever and I think he belongs in the conversation. He was putting up huge numbers in an era that was completely different from today's.
But again..........it's hard to compare them all. There are only so many great ones and to be included in that group is quite an honor.
And I agree w/you about Dak. What he did yesterday was amazing. I mentioned his poise earlier. It's so evident. Great leader. Smart. NFL size and arm. I am NOT knocking anyone, but man, he was had in the 4th round. That's amazing in and of itself.
I would just like to say, that after watching Aaron Rodgers' post game interview.. if he wasn't already a great QB, he'd have a solid career in NASCAR..
Dude was channeling his inner Dale Jr. last night..
Anyone notice the four QBs in the Conference Championships:
Brady = Elite Rodgers = Elite Big Ben = Elite Ryan = 2nd tier, but has the opportunity to establish himself as elite this year under the direction of a superior offensive mind in Shanny.

Headline from ProFootballTalk.com tonight:
Brady, Ben, Peyton are 14 of the last 16 AFC Super Bowl quarterbacks

This is the best post you've ever made.
And quite observant.
This notion that Pitt is going to beat NE at NE with Brady at the top of his game is absurd.
It's not absurd that the Steelers can win. It's absurd that D4Life is already crying about it. He's acting like NE doesn't have a chance. They're the better team with the better QB and they're at home.
But if you'd like to make a wager on the steelers I'll book it. Same odds and line as the vegas books. PM me the amount.

If I'm BB, focus on stopping Bell. Brady can go toe to toe with Ben. New England can't let the Steelers run it too.
What? You are the one going crazy on anyone who thinks that Pittsburgh has a chance. You used the word "absurd."
NE should be favored, but to say that Pitt has no chance is what is absurd.
It's absurd to act like it's for sure Pitt is going to win.
And I wasn't going crazy on anyone, just D4Life.
BTW, did anyone catch Tomlin's post game rant about the Pats? What a clown. He actually sort of validated what Bradshaw said about him.
haha you were going crazy on me? I wish I would have known, just thought we were having a discussion on a varying opinion.
Am I 100% sure Pittsburgh will win? Heck no. I mean, they are going to New England to play Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. But, if there's one team that can win this game it is them IMO. They can run it, they have an elite QB, and they can put pressure on Brady.
In the middle of the game he looked like he panicked. Question is how do you think ROMO would have fared its a question would Romo in this O score more often then Dak...who did not have a bad game at all. Just the Packers were scoring TDs mounting a big lead. As stated Dak made a valiant effort.
Funny thing is all are big on pointing to Romo's play off record well Dak now is 0-1 with maybe the best team I saw assembled for Dallas in Decades!
I don't like Rookies QBing their way to the SB...Just curious has it been done?
Ryan who has played about as elite as a QB can this year (the favorite for NFL MYP).
But yep Cannot make a better case for us trying to get an ELITE Franchise QB - got to keep drafting for one until we succeed. No more Manziel, Weedens, BQ with our 2nd Draft pick.
Made all the reads. Made all the throws. His most impressive throw was the incompletion to Witten in the end zone. What a professional throw. I think there are maybe one or two guys in the league that either attempt and/or can make that throw. The other one was on the opposing team.
I can't copy and paste the article because there are too many pics and vids, but this is an educational article written by the best in the business of evaluating QBs.
I get the feeling many won't take the time to educate themselves, just like they haven't read the articles and watched the tape on the Jimmy G thread, and instead make ridiculous Osweiler comparisons.
But, for those of you interested in educating yourselves, I highly recommend this article. It's not all glowing. It's not all bad. Seems pretty damn objective to me.
Maybe a slight positive tilt, but pretty fair all in all. I was hoping to see his take on the Hyde pick on the WR screen.
I agree with the take that Dak has performed well for a rookie, but that Dallas hasn't asked him to do a ton. He's exceeded expectations, and could be a great one if he continues to develop.
I wish we hadn't asked our QBs to do so much, but at the same time, we don't have the same personnel.
While as players Osweiller and Jimmy G are different, I don't think the comparison is all that ridiculous as far as situation. Both had limited tape in the NFL and were in line for big pay days. Jimmy G may be the better player but he's only started 2 games, and they were played within a well crafted scheme and his opponents didn't have a ton of film on him.
I'd feel a lot better about going after him if we were a dome team. That Towson tape worries me.
He looks like he'd be an improvement over our QBs from that limited sample of NFL highlights/tape, but I wish there was more of it with some cold weather/windy games thrown in.
I do like him as a prospect, but ~$72 Million and a first round pick is a lot to gamble.
Maybe James Harrison will do us a favor for once and give us another glimpse of Garoppolo. He's another of those "ageless wonders" like Brady, and has a pretty crazy regimen of his own. They said he spends 6 figures on his body every season, or something like that during the broadcast.
Well Dak is now 0-1 in the playoffs with a team that was SB worthy...so I guess I can say well look at DAK's playoff performance.
If I recollect Romo played pretty good in a lot of those losses.
Romo did not play with this team.
You can say all you want. 1. One I didn't say he played bad. I said he didn't play good enough to win.
2. Use that Objectivity that you think you are famous for and think about it.
3. This is nothing I am emoting on. I stated that they should have given Romo some starts Not the one series where he got a TD. Cause you never know if DAK can keep up with the Playoff pace which is on another level than regular season games. I thought Dak played well especially the last qtr. But just not enough. At home. jmho I am allowed you can have an opposite opinion I know its tough to express it without insulting me...but try and be objective...lol
I don't think losing the game means you "didnt play well enough to win"
Rodgers just played better.
If u lost ... by definition ... u didn't play well enough to win ...
Dak played very well ... he even played well enough to win most games ... just not this one ... he is certainly not the reason the Cowgirls lost ....
With that said ... they LOST .... thats all that matters ... would they have won with Romo .. who knows ... but we do know what the result was with Dak at QB ...
The point is - Not that DAK played bad...he did play good.
My point is could have ROMO with this offense taken them further. Match Rodgers where Dak could not? Your words.
That is all I'm suggesting and its a thought I had all the way back when they had 4 games left and Romo was declared healthy to play. They used him for one series and that was it. About as good a series as one could have had. But I would have like to have seen 2 or more starts so that if he was on FIRE let him take the team into the play offs...Dak is going to have a great career. But again I don't every remember a rookie taking his team to SB champions.
I think he had a better chance. Dude was a stud in that GB game. I still can't believe how poised he is. Hell, he displayed more poise than guys who have been in the league for an eternity. And he's a freaking rookie!
I have to say that we certainly disagree. Romo had been on the bench for quite a while. I believe rust would have been a factor and his play would certainly have been no better and probably worse than Daks.
Atlanta could very likely make it back to the NFC Championship if everyone if healthy. They lose nobody in free agency, they're young, and will have 40-50 million in cap space. They need to just keep drafting defense.

They're doing this without their best corner too.
They definitely have the pieces, and will probably draft a lot of defense.
However, maybe Shanny's exit will affect them? IMO he's a great coordinator.
Dak has just as good of a chance of pulling that off as Romo did.
Again you just cannot comprehend what I am saying. Romo has never had this team in the Playoffs. This team looked to be a favorite to get to the SB and go strong there. Instead it lost its first playoff game.
"Dak has just as good of a chance of pulling that off as Romo did"
lol really that is your argument...he LOST his first playoff game so he didn't pull it off did he. Romo could not have had a worse result.
Romo is 1-3 in the playoffs, 59 % completion and 832 yards. Also bobbled the snap in Seattle. Those are just stats. The eyeball rest and results test say he has not been good in the playoffs. Not as good as Dak was, albeit his was in a losing effort. Sure Romo COULD HAVE led them to a victory. So could have I.
watching Sanu tear the Packers up the Browns didn't even entertain him in the off season then seeing Shanahan carve up the Packers and he used to be employed by the Browns brillent FOs in Berea
Shanny is a football god. Lets offer him a hc position and freedom to run it however he wants.
Not taking anything away from Shanny...I agree he is smart and creative. However, it will remain to be seen what he can do as a HC. Many thought Chip Kelly was an offensive football guru and then he came into the NFL and was a dud.
That said, I do think Shanny will succeed as he has a foundation and support from his father who was successful and he is incredibly creative. Must admit, watching Atlanta reminds me a little bit of the Oregon Ducks when they were at their best. Their opponents struggle to slow them down.
Hope we trade Joe Thomas to the Falcons in the off season. He could play for a winner and our idiot FO could get a few more 6th and 7th round picks to add to the pile.
First the success of the Patriots is truly remarkable. The Pat's play team football. Outside of Brady not a bunch of super stars just players who get it done. The receivers and runners are just players that fit. They execute.
Quarterback play. The Browns QB's are so far away it is not worth any comparison.
The Falcon's. Until recently I lived in Atlanta for over thirty years. This team could very well win it all. Lots of weapons. Very well coached. Anyone that may have thought Shanahan could not coach. Rewatch the game and pay attention to the offensive game plan and play calling.
