How many of my fellow posters think politics is stupid? I have gotten to a point where I generally shut anyone up who even starts their monkey poo waving around me anymore.

There are no logical arguments anymore. Instead all you have is a competition to see which side can pick up the largest pile of poo and sling it the hardest.

The real reality is that the taxes we pay are such a small and insignificant amount of the US budget that we normal income Americans have ZERO financial value to the government. 80% of tax income from the government comes from taxes on trading. Things like tariffs. 15% comes from taxation of the wealthiest 10% of the country. You and I might if we are lucky equal 5% of the nation's income.

So if they don't actually gain much from taxing normal people why do they do it? The simple truth is to keep people too poor and desperate to stand up to them. Don't believe me? Then can I throw some simple math and logic at you? Cool, check out the following:

"What is the spending on Welfare?
In FY 2019 total US government spending on welfare — federal, state, and local — is “guesstimated” to be $1,118 billion, including $650 billion for Medicaid, and $467 billion in other welfare."
https://www.usgovernmentspending.com/year_spending_2020USbn_20bc6n_203031#usgs302

Now most of that is medicaid, sss, etc. However the government still spent 360 MILLION dollars on just foodstamps in 2018. Why is that an important number is showing how dumb politics is?

Ask your self a simple question. How many Americans are there? About 320 million right? Give or take. That means if we simply stopped ALL food stamp programs nationwide we could send every SINGLE AMERICAN 1 million dollars and save millions of dollars.

If that didn't blow your mind enough then lets do this. We can stop all goverment programs of EVERY SINGLE KIND that gives out aid and simple main every single american 1 BILLION dollars and it would save the US budget 600 billion dollars a year.

Is that sinking in yet? It would be cheaper to send every single American 1 billion dollars and stop all government aid. We would save at LEAST 600 billion dollars.

So why don't we do it? Who would work for our corporate masters if we ever did so? Enjoy your darn politics as the hatred you spew enslaves you even further to the political party machine.

No.

If you made every American a Billionaire, who would cook your food and serve you in a restaurant?

Who would build cars, police our streets, make refrigerators etc.

Not us, we be rich!

So we would have to do everything ourselves and buy everything from other countries.

Now you have no trade, no income, only purchases.

When the money was finally used up, we would be looking under rocks for grubs.

Enjoy your slavery to your corporate masters. Just don't whine about politics because BOTH parties are just peons to them.

I mean you want to argue that people should be poor and suffer so you can have your burger with fries.

Just don't feed me BS that our people cant be covered with health insurance, be fed, have shelter, and have good education because if you and your precious government can't do it by wasting billions of dollars then just give the money back to the people and let them take care of themselves.

Just don't feed me the nonsense we can't afford to take care of our people because we can. We just have to get the stupid government out of the way and throw politics to the side. It has to be better than wasting billions of dollars to let our elders be poor and suffering.

There is no reason healthcare and education can't be free for life. None. Just get rid of wasteful government spending.

Politics was fun to discuss on this board from 2011-2016.

Everything went to crap after 2016.

I second this. Personally I wish this section of the board didn't exist and I think it does more harm than good. I tend to get argumentative when I talk about politics and that's a personal fault of mine that I've been trying to work on more. I think several people should try and do the same as they'd be better off for it. The only thing this part of the forum does is turn posters against each other and people get attacked for what they believe in.

No, politics isn't stupid, politics is a necessity to a civil society...

Politicians are stupid
Non-objective people who put blind faith in politicians/parties are stupid
Political parties that demand absolute allegiance on all issues are stupid
Biased media and ranting talking heads are stupid
Political maneuvering to prevent the voting people to get what they voted for is stupid

Lots of stupid.

If there are 320 million people in the US, that would be $1.13 dollars per person.

We should be spending money on math education.

I know what food stamps are. I grew up in circumstances where they helped during rough times. I hold no judgement.

We send far more on other things.

But the poor make an easy target for GOP’ers.
I bet if Bezos and the Waltons were taxed properly the math would work out closer.

We each control our own actions. All you have to do is not click on this forum. Then, in your world it wouldn't exist.

I think your math is off.

edit: after re reading your post, I think your "every American 1 million dollars comes out to every American
3493 dollars and 75 cents,

Not even a down payment on a decent car, so, not quite like sitting in Oprah's audience.

I see no way where you get the "1 billion dollars" for every American.

About this stupid.

https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/spongebob-violent-racist-colonizer

"SpongeBob SquarePants," which celebrated its 20th anniversary on Friday, has millions of fans around the world, but one University of Washington professor is clearly not among them.

For a recently published academic journal, the professor, Holly M. Barker, wrote an article "Unsettling SpongeBob and the Legacies of Violence on Bikini Bottom," in which she offers a different take on the affable sea sponge.

"SpongeBob Squarepants and his friends play a role in normalizing the settler colonial takings of indigenous lands while erasing the ancestral Bikinian people from their nonfictional homeland," the article reads.

I read this.. it's actually funny the mental gymnastics this person did to reach their conclusions...

My favorite part is the part about them being ok with radiation poisoning because the characters are "mutated"... dude, we have been giving human characteristics to animals and inanimate objects in cartoons since... well since cartoons... the very first cartoon ever was a mouse that wore pants and could talk... calm down.

Fighting fascism by cancelling Spongebob.

320 million people x $1 billion = 3,200,000,000,000,000,000

2020 Estimated US Tax Revenue = 3,643 billion (3,643,000,000,000)

Going to be short a few dollars. smile
