I can take a lot of jokes, but what Carlson is doing is among the worst I’ve seen in recent memory. Let me tell you a little story to show you just how moronic you sound here. Bill and Sam live two doors down from each other. Each morning they both come out on their front porch to read their newspapers and each day when the mailman runs they witness the dog in the house between them chase and try to bite that mailman. They witness this same event day after day, week after week and month after month. One day Bill says to Sam. "You know Sam, that mailman is going to walk through that same gate in the morning and that same dog is going to try and bite him again."

And Sam looks at Bill and says, "How can you know that? Tomorrow isn't even here yet. Do you think you have some crystal ball?"

That was good. They both did good impressions.

I willingly admit that how funny SNL has been has had its ebbs and flows. They change cast members and writers with great frequency. As such there have been seasons that certainly haven't been as good as others. But over the past 20 years there have been many seasons that have been very funny. That's why making a claim that "it hasn't been all that funny for two decades" is such nonsense. As of now both the writers and cast I find to be very funny.

Yeah, it definitely ebbs and flows. Sometimes it feels like they are forcing it, which it felt like until recently. Other times, they have the right cast and the right chemistry. A lot of it also depends on the hosts. So far this year, they have had a good lineup of hosts overall. Adam Driver may be my favorite. It appears they might be entering into another upswing. Weekend Update is probably what I look forward to most now on a consistent basis. Mikey Day and the Do Not Destroy clips I find consistently funny as well.
