Actually I'm not thrilled with it at all. You see, those struggling to make a living have to pay 9.5% to buy all food to make up for a lack of stater income taxes. 9.5% is the sales tax rate as well. That applies to everything but medical devices in Tennessee. So on one hand it requires everyone to contribute to the states income no matter their economic status. On the other hand it requires those who are already struggling to pay a high tax rate on everything they buy. Pick your poison.

And you missed the message. My question was at what point is enough, enough? Trump gave business well in excess of a trillion dollar tax cut. He gave business 900 billion in interest free loans. In Tennessee you have few regulations to help attract business. You have two years of free community college to attract business. The pot has already been sweetened to attract business. So at what point is enough, enough? At what point do you stop creating corporate welfare benefits for business?

Ask your non income tax having state. They apparently felt that a 900 million dollar tax abatement was worth the thousands of jobs the new plant would bring.

Construction jobs, cement jobs, wiring, plumbing, on and on. Allow the company, Ford, 900 million (you still haven't told us over what period of time), to bring in construction jobs (tax payers), and thousands of full time jobs (tax payers). Pretty darn sure the offsets favor the state.

If you think about it the "No State Income Tax" is a variation of the "Flat Tax" that disproportionately effects the less affluent people as they tend to spend what is earned.

State taxes with progressive rates are less favorable to high earners.

There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

Still avoiding the question I see about when is enough, enough? Over one trillion in tax cuts. Interest free loans from the feds. How much more should big business get? At what point is the price tag for give aways to business become too much? It's a good conversation to have but I can see you want no part of it.

Well Tax cuts are one policy that can be used to stimulate or keep an economy going if it is danger of slowing/lagging. But the Trump tax cut was simply an act of poor fiscal responsibility when our debt is still so high. The tax cut Trump inacted overwhelmingly favored the wealthy - and did absolutely nothing to help an already vibrant and strong economy. It was pure dumb. Or I should say, it was an act against the interest of the country while gifting more to the already fabulously wealthy.

While I have had nobody willing to engage in a conversation about it, I've brought up how there are certain tools government can use to help bolster a failing economy and how Trump used all of those tools to prop up an already booming economy. There are really no tools left in that tool box at this point.
