It's the first time I actually clicked on the video. I agree with you 100%. It's like listening to Justin Bieber trying to do Pink Folyd.

A little late to the party, but I'm ready for the next Ferry Diam.......lol.
Baker is our franchise guy. I have been slower than some to anoint the guy, but when you consider his growth, and the youth of his supporting cast (or in some instances lack thereof) he is progressing marvelously. He is the real deal and that search is over...HUGE there.
The young kids are developing. I wasn't on board firing Hue when we did because I thought more likely than not the turnover would hurt development. Boy was I wrong..lol. These guys are all growing by leaps and bounds, and are really receptive to coaching. I'm not trying to turn this into another anti-Hue post, but am stating this to say I was wrong and Dorsey was right. Firing Hue was in hindsight obviously the right thing to do, and the kids are really responding to this staff.
Which leads me to point 3.....Dorsey holding the keys to future is the best chance this team has had at winning in a LONG time. We have a real shot at being a perennial playoff contender for the next 10 years man.
Awesome times!!! By the way when does the wet bar open on the Isle???

this is the best i've felt about this team in a long time. and its mainly due to us finally having a QB.
i just hope the whole Hue era doesn't ruin it around here. we got some taking that firing way too hard.

A change in coaching has turned this whole deal around in a super positive way. The proof is in the way we are playing and the way we are thinking. We have a solid positive vibe going right now. The players may not have quit on Hue, but they didn't play hard. We are playing hard. We are seeing our rookie QB grow week to week. It's beautiful to watch. As he grows, the players around him get better. They sense he is going to be the guy and don't want to let him down and he isn't going to let them down.

I was pretty firmly on the Sam Darnold wagon at draft time. Didn't dislike Baker mind you, just thought Sam might be the answer. Well, I don't mind mind saying that Baker Mayfield nearly single handedly is responsible for any optimism I have. Been a while since we had leadership on the field and someone who delivered what they spoke. Baker might be the first guy of his type since maybe....Steve Everett? I think he's probably even more boisterous than him too! Needed some character on this squad!

As he grows, the players around him get better. They sense he is going to be the guy and don't want to let him down and he isn't going to let them down. To me it's simple. It's being shown to everyone that we had young talent on this team that was drafted over the past two seasons, coaching limited what they were able to do, and it probably stunted growth in some cases. The additional picks (also acquired from the last regime) and selected by Dorsey have panned out extremely well so far. - Rememeber when people got butt-hurt over the Osweiler trade? Yeah, that led to Nick Chubb. - How about the trade down with Houston? Well, that netted Denzel Ward and Jabrill Peppers, who have both been playing extremely well. FINALLY, we see what Peppers can do as a SS. - I don't need to say much about Garrett, but what about mid-to-late round picks like, Ogunjobi, Schobert & Higgins? Even Nassib who was cut was a All-PFF player last week (over Garrett's performance by the way), and we saw how he did against us? - All that extra draft capital aquired allowed us to move back up in 2017 and grab Njoku, who is arguably performing as the best receiver on this team right now. And really, that's just scratching the surface. The plan set out in 2016 to (1) cut all the old players and bad contracts, and (2) acquire more draft capital has worked wonders for this oprganization. It's as simple as that. There is no such thing as a 100% success rate drafting in the NFL and Sashi, Berry, & DePo, certainly didn't go 100%, but they allowed the organization more opportunities to get picks right as they were building a team from nothing to something. I think we are seeing that. We are seeing these young players perform well, along with a sprinkling of FA acquisitions and extensions in Bitonio, Kirksey, Randall, Mitchell, and others. People, on this board and in the media, tried to sell you a fake bill of goods that this team didn't have talent. So much so that one continuously told you to "Look at my sig, look at my sig". Well, they were dead wrong. And we're seeing that unfold before our eyes, and all it took was the worst coach in NFL history to get his walking papers. Well, that and we have a QB. The above said, there is still a tough road ahead. We still need two tackles and a #1 WR (top needs, IMO) but I don't feel like we're too far off from being a really good team. Alot of people said Dorsey was walking into the best situation for a GM-- they were right. Same goes for the next year's HC. Sorry to burst the bubble of some one here, but "The Plan" people hated on so much over the past 2+ years, seems to have worked out just fine. This team could lose the rest of it's games this year and will still be pumped for 2019. The foundation is of this team is set, IMO.

Just imagine if we had our third rounder (Tyrod Taylor) and fourth rounder (Jarvis Landry) back.

Yeah, Sashi really knew how to tear a team down. Did he gain draft capital along the way? Sure he did. But Dorsey has done better at adding talent to this team than Sashi did the entire time he was here. Even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in a while and Haslam found his in Dorsey. This team would still look bad without Mayfield so you can quit acting like Sashi was any real part of this.
Anyone still acting like Sashi was good at his job, unless tearing the team down to the studs was his job, is more butt hurt than anyone still backing Hue. lmao

Tearing it down to the studs was his job. Tearing it down being the beginning of "the plan" has been clearly laid out numerous times. Would we be int he same position in year 3 and 4 if Sashi was still here? No real way to know. If bringing someone in like Dorsey wasn't part of it, I'd agree there could be a solid probability we wouldn't be. But if it was... so far there has been zero indication that since the hiring of Dorsey that the analytic program Sashi and DePo established has any less influence. In fact, one could probably argue its still prevalent. Hue used it in how he handled injuries. Mayfield wasn't generally considered a #1 pick player but was an analytics dream right?

So we agree that Sashi was here to tear it down to the studs. Thanks! Because that's the exact point I was making. At least someone knew his limitations when it was time to build it back. Some people are good at tearing things down and some people are good at building. Often times they aren't the same people.

Hmmmmm... So they finally hired someone to do it? IMHO, Dorsey has been doing a great job. No reason to think he will not continue to do it. Far, far beyond my best expectations, the guy is a keeper, IMHO. And I have criticized the guy for being a smart ass, but I'm 100% sold.

We agree on that but you seem to indicate nobody was supposed to actually try to build the team for two years. You do realize that's not how any of this is supposed to work, right?

Hey Diam, just wondering what your thoughts are on Njoku now. I know you weren't to sure about him early on. We talked about him needing seasoning. He still has a ways to go, but he's starting to flash. What do you think?

I realize you wish to give Dorsey no credit when he calls the final shots on acquiring the talent now. A before and after snap shot in terms of our talent level might do you a world of good.

Words in my mouth again? Dorsey gives optimism, as does Hue's departure. Dorsey can't do what he's doing without Sashi. Thank goodness for Sashi. Welcome aboard.

He still has a ways to go, but he's starting to flash. What do you think? Thanks for asking ... I’m happy with his play as of late ... Obviouslyy he’s had no drops in a month or so ... until lat week that was with maybe 5 or 6 targets over the last month ... Kitchens is keeping him into block more ... 3 or 4 of his catches over rthe last month have been when he’s literally stayed in (not just chiipoed) and then very very late he “seeped” out ... With his lack of involvement with the passing game he still seems to have a great tude and he’s doing the best he can with the blocking ... This reminds me a lot of last year ... he started out dropping everything and then turned it around the last half of the season ... wrote it off to rookie jitters ... Not sure what to think of this years start ... not gonna get to excited til i see what he does at the beggining of next year ... Your thoughts? ... If the kids keep the BS up we can move this to another thread or PM’s ... Any clue on whats going with DeValve ... he is my greatest mystery on this years team ... Anyone .. any clue? ...

i just hope the whole Hue era doesn't ruin it around here. we got some taking that firing way too hard. Right?! I don't understand it man, I just don't. Coach was 1-15 people said he should be fired - and people said he deserved another year. ok, ok, give him another year. Then coach was 0-16 and people screamed he should be fired, then some screamed he should not. Ok, ok, they gave him another year. Then, nothing is changing, we are starting to decline desite an influx of talent, and the insides of the organization are a mess. Coach gets fired. PEOPLE FREAK OUT AND A LOSE their crap over it. Go on hiatus and call others every name in the book, all the while saying Hue never should have got fired. Then, after Hue gets fired, the team looks better than it HAS EVER HAD IN 20 years, instantly overnight from the firing! I mean, I don't get how a single person could argue firing Hue was not the right decision. lol. Hue is gone, you were wrong (not you, swish - in general), man up and own it, and move on.

Why doesn't everybody take their Hue arguments and "MOVE ON" to another thread?
I wanted to give Hue a third year cuz I thought he deserved a fair shot, it didn't work, he got fired and I've moved on.
And you know what else? Unlike others here, when I'm right about something, I don't shove it in everyone's faces and I don't tell other posters to "man up" and admit they were wrong.

He was given enough time with some actual NFL talent. He deserved that but enough was enough.

Thanks for responding. I think he's coming along nicely. lol, He needs to learn not to leave his feet unless absolutely necessary (that leap at the five yard line was fugly). Some guys just like to jump whether they need to or not. Seems early on he made the tough catches and pooched the easy ones, he now seems to be making the easy ones too. I love that he is very tough to bring down. And as you mentioned, I love his overall attitude. I think we'll start to see more of his involvement in the passing game as he continues to build trust with the coaches & QB. It is good seeing him blocking more, not such a "tell" anymore when we take him out. Don't know what the deal is with DeValve. Maybe it's a health thing, or maybe the coaches prefer Fells & Charles. We've seen decent play from them in limited action.

I can see where a lot of people want Williams to remain as HC following this season... I mean for a guy to go 2-1 with the same talentless team that Hue went 3-36-1 with is simply astonishing. Williams is just working miracles over here...

Williams is just working miracles over here... Let's see what kind of miracles he can work this week. Beating Houston will take a miracle. Being in it in the 4th Q will be a miracle.

I had more OPTIMISM for Njoku than anyone this year. Early he let me down, BIG TIME. He is starting to show he can play better.
I think they are keeping him in and making him block more on purpose. Perform and you will be rewarded. He is starting to perform like he should, so I expect his touches and looks to go up soon.
AS far as Devalve, man I HAVE NO IDEA. It truly is a mystery - because honestly I think Fells and Charles are pooh when it comes to receiving. Devalve is either on the poop list with someone, or he's really hurt and we just don't know it. But it makes no sense. The guy can flat out play and could open some more doors on offense if hes out there.

Williams is just working miracles over here... Let's see what kind of miracles he can work this week. Beating Houston will take a miracle. Being in it in the 4th Q will be a miracle. True. But I don't think beating Houston this week should be the only measuring stick. I don't think you do either.
