I don't know about that. Somehow you landed a sweet looking and very nice wife.

Scale battery went dead, and I haven't got a new one yet ..... but I managed to squeeze into a pair of 46" pants, and shirts I could not wear for years and now loose on me. I have to dig out some smaller clothes. (and thankfully I saved them in vacuum bags)

My back has been absolutely murderous the past week or so, so I haven't been able to do much, so that doesn't help, but I am doing my best to stick to 1300 calories/day. I have to drag myself out to get groceries tomorrow though. (and I have a roof guy coming tomorrow to give an estimate of my garage roof that has sprung a massive leak) crazy

Stay true to the goal.

I was going to give you a like on your post about fitting into smaller clothes. But then you brought up your garage roof and I didn't want you to think I was happy you have a leak in your garage. wink

rofl

Fortunately I have a really good roof guy. He's done work on my roof, and my mom's roof. and has always been good and inexpensive.

There are a bunch of vines, trees, and such, that have grown up really badly, They are all over the roof, along with my out of control grape vines, and I have a ton of moss on the one side of the roof. They are going to clean the roof and put an agent that will keep the moss off .... taking the covers off the gutters and clean out the crap that got through the covers, trim back everything that needs trimmed back, and repair the hole in the roofing. I wasn't looking forward to the price, but he said, "$450". I was expecting twice that. He's a good guy, and he does good work too.

Went to my family doctor today, because my sugar has been running really low. I had dropped 2 of my 4 diabetes medicines on my own, and when I went to the doctor today. he took me off a 3rd. So now I am down to just Metformen. I was kind of worried about my weight, with me having these dire needs for sugar, but I haven't gained anything back.

Oh, and my 48" pants are really falling off me. It was almost embarrassing when I went to get a prescription filled today. I have to find where I put the smaller clothes. I vacuum sealed then into bags, and I hope they are in the basement, and that I didn't donate them. crazy

The up side is that buying smaller clothes when you are trying to get smaller doesn't hurt as much.

I went to the Dr. yesterday. All was good and now has me going back every 6 months. I have been going every 3.

That's good news 'peen.

I have noticed that my feet have not been quite as bad as they had been. They still have neuropathy, with numbness/tingling/zaps, but they seem to be decreasing in intensity. I don't know if it's the weight, the medicines I have stopped, or both.

Thanks. I have tried to do some moderate exercises with short bursts of extra effort. That seems to help, when my back cooperates. I can't do a lot of stuff that involves my low back, because the spinal nerves are impinged.

I stalled a little over the past few weeks, when my sugar went haywire. I had to take sugar (and calories) above and beyond because my sugar dropped so much. (Blood sugar counts down to the 50's) I am off most of my diabetes meds, and my body is still adjusting.

I am amazed, though. Yesterday I drove my truck. At my worst, my gut was tight against the steering wheel. Now I can almost fit my fist between my gut and the wheel. I am also down to 275, which is kind of where I stalled with my sugar. I am hopeful that I will start losing again now that my sugar is back on track.

That's an update. laugh I feel like I don't look quite as fat, and I put on a shirt yesterday that I haven't worn in probably 8 or 9 years. It was loose on me. Lovin' that. laugh

I had an issue with my sugar, which has resulted in dropping 3 of 4 meds. I had a ton of sugary things during that month, or so, and that kinda stallef my progress. However, I checked in at 272 this am.

Always great to get to hang out with my brother. thumbsup

As an aside, I was almost out of gas when I got to the restaurant, and wanted to write myself a note so I didn't run out on the freeway. I didn't have a pen, so I asked the waitress to borrow hers. I jokingly said to her "I wanted to write down my number for you". She perked up and said, "Oh, you can just give it to me".

She wanted it for their rewards program ........... crazy rofl

265# this AM, and still going.

I notice my weight/size loss most when I sit in my truck. At my worst, my gut hit the wheel quite a bit. Now I can fit a fist between the steering wheel and my gut. Nice change.

I am down to a 48" waist, and probably a 46". I have a pair of jeans that didn't fit, even when I wore a 48" waist before. They fit, and are in fact loose now. I have to find my 46" pants, wherever I stored them. (I put them in vacuum bags, I think in the basement)

Anyway, that's today's update.

That's a tremendous accomplishment, keep up the great work! (Except for tomorrow, eat like a king tomorrow, you've earned it. wink )

Great job YTown!!

Back in August I severely strained my hip adductor while practicing for the Texans... it was completely debilitating... ended up having to go to Physical Therapy for awhile and actually it turned out that my injury was a catalyst to deciding I needed to get my health back in order... I also, for the first time, had high cholesterol and blood pressure diagnosed earlier this summer...

so once I started getting the leg better I started going to the gym daily and trying to watch what I eat... so far I'm down about 10% of where I was... feel like I'm in the best shape I've been in a long time...

I walk on average 6 miles at work everyday. He will surprised, we’ve never talked about losing weight more than a few minutes over the years.

I am still right around 260# or so right now. I had a rough last couple of weeks, and didn't get out to buy salad stuff, and wound upo eating more garbage than I should have. I am firmly into a 46" though. I have to get the rest of that sized pants out of the closet in my office ..... which means digging the door out. lol (I have some boxes piled up in front of it right now)

CO-VID has definitely knocked me off the rails a bit. Not being able to get to the store for fresh veggies, and eating a lot more soup has not been ideal. I haven't really gained weight, but I haven't lost much either. (since the beginnning of the year)

You have done well and have accomplished a lot. Keep going.

There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

Time to get back on the horse.

Wear a mask. Go when it is slow. Store up more.

Do not stop or you will slip back.

You have accomplished a lot so you know you can do this.

COVID has ruined lots of plans and thrown a wrench in just about everyone's health habits. If you haven't gained, I'd still call that a win.

Not my thread but anyway. I weighed 267lbs in late July 2021, today I weighed in at 218, down 49lbs. Couldn’t be happier, my original goal was 219lbs, new goal now is 199lbs.

On a good day I average around 15,000 steps, on a really good day 22,000 steps around 10 miles.

I truly like to hear success stories of achieving goals.

When someone sets out to accomplish a goal and does it. That is so rewarding.

I tried last year to catch an Atlantic salmon. Tough goal and costly. I went to a lodge in Nova Scotia. Spent three days and it just did not happen.
As a fly fisherman you accept that. Part of the deal.

Some unusual circumstances have come to play and I might get a second chance sometime this year. I struck up a friendship on the phone with one of the owners of the lodge. And he wants me to go with him this year when conditions are favorable. He knows when through the guides. This is a grand a day for lodge, food, guide. Lots of things have to come together for this to work. But hey I may get a shot at it.

I am near the end of my passion. Age catches us all. Wading in rivers with a fly rod is hard to do. Uneven bottoms, slippery rocks, stiff currents. Wading in rivers is a young mans game. I am 74. I am in very good condition for my age. But at some point it becomes too much.

Atlantic salmon is the top gun in the sport of fly fishing. The great Ted Williams said they are the greatest game fish. They are hard to hook and super hard to land. They weigh 15 to 40 plus pounds.

I want to land one before I quit. So, we all need goals.

Glad to hear of others success.
