Myles going on radio row to talk about wanting to be traded to anyone who will listen to him is not a good look.

Agree it isn't a great look. However I personally think most will factor in the dysfunction of the Brown's and feel that he's justified to do everything in his power to force a move and generate interest.

Not a good look...true, but it's a direct reflection upon those running the franchise.

One of the rare times I agree with MKC on the state of the team and it's not that bad....which probably means my take is wrong.

But yes, we all know they need a QB. That's a given.

Honestly, who would want to come here and coach this team or be the GM with the mess we’re in? If you got anyone they probably wouldn’t be the best people because of the situation. I agree with the comments and assessments made on the video that Jh And Paul D. are responsible for the horrible situation we’re in. Let the people already in place dig us out of it. Like I said earlier nobody is going to want to come here to this disaster.

3 wins and 14 losses..that's not too far from 1-15 and 0-16, Mary.

Myles took one look at the Browns plan for the future and determined he had to get the hell out of Cleveland.

I have listened to Myles and the questions asked.

What I have not heard asked is "what can the Browns do that would make you want to stay?"

He said before that he "wanted everybody to be aligned." On what? What do you want Myles?

Everybody wants to win a Super Bowl. Not many good teams even get a chance.

Plenty of teams are picking in the top ten every year. Eli Manning is the only top five selected quarterback along with Carson Wentz to win a Super Bowl with the team that drafted them.

Myles could be traded to any team and not do any better than what he has done in Cleveland.

The Watson deal was a team killer. We all know that. However, it was also a bold move to try to get to the Super Bowl level.

It is not like finding a quarterback and being a consistent winner is not the goal for a boat load of teams.

We are in a hole. You cannot keep digging you have to climb out. The way to do that is to put all you have into finding a quarterback.

Once you have a QB from the draft. Then you have money and can sign guys. Then you are drafting BPA every time.

I want to trade Myles if possible because we need the draft capital and we need to get financially solvent.

But that's us and MKC looking on from the outside and adding last season to help the stats look better. MG is on the inside and knows the bottom line of what direction the team is headed.

I'd worry less about what he says and accept that he wants to leave and that there is a reason ... that the team/roster is not in good shape. He's a top talent and in his prime. I've no issue with him wanting g to leave.

I suspect we will hear a lot about the inner workings of what is going on in Cleveland over the next 30 days or so since the trading period for 2025 doesn't begin until 4:00 p.m., New York time, after expiration of all 2024 contracts on March 12th. This time period will afford both Garrett and Ward to continue to expose why they believe the Browns and Berry are on the wrong track. JMHO but I wouldn't be surprised to see comments about Stefanski and/or the locker room to surface too. This could be 30 days of pure ugly coming. If they really want to be moved, slamming the FO and HC will force their hand. In the meantime, Berry can tip his hand by addressing the elephant in the room: HOW HE CREATES CAP SPACE BY MARCH 12th.

The dead money in 2025 generated by a Garrett trade pre-June 1st is $36,216,220 and a cap savings of ($16,494,100) due to all the restructures Berry has done on Garrett's contract. The dead money in 2025 generated by a Ward trade pre-June 1st is $30,399,200 and a cap savings of ($5,873,988) due to all the restructures Berry has done on Ward's contract.
The Browns have a current cap deficit of ($30,168,764) that must be eliminated by March 12th at 4:00 before the new league season starts.

If the Browns are going to trade just Garrett after March 12th and before June 1, Berry must clear up ($46,662,864) in cap space just to trade Garrett and maintain league compliance.
if the Browns are going to trade just Ward after March 12th and before June 1, Berry must clear up ($36,042,752) in cap space just to trade Ward and maintain league compliance.
If the Browns are going to trade both Garrett and Ward after March 12th and before June 1, Berry must clear up ($52,536,852) in cap space just to trade both and maintain league compliance.
The above scenario's do not provide any cap space for FA signings or the draft. That will be additional cap space that Berry must also find out how to generate.

The Browns currently have 21 UFA's, 5 RFA's, and 3 ERFA's that either need to be resigned or replaced via FA and/or the draft starting March 12th at 4:00 p.m. Currently and with the above scenario's, Berry does not have any available cap to sign any FA's or drafted players.

The minimum salary for a drafted player in 2025 is $840,000 and a 3-year vet is $1,255,000. In simple numbers, 9 draft picks x $840,000 = $7,560,000 leaving 20 FA's of some type X $1,255,000 = $25,100,000 meaning Berry would need an additional $32,660,000 in cap space funds to fill the roster paying every FA and draft pick acquired the league minimum allowed.

As I stated before, only Watson and Ward have any amount of respectable money to restructure: Watson would generate $35,796,000 and Ward would generate $9,165,750 in cap space savings leaving the Browns with $15,172,398 in available cap space for free agency and the draft by restructuring both. Drawback, kicking the can down the road on Ward and Watson just creates future problems with the cap.

The only Browns players that have more than $2.5 million in cap savings by cutting or trading them pre-June 1 is Conklin @ $4,643,059, Emerson @ $3,575,000, Wright @ $3,325,000, and Jerome Ford @ $3,325,000 freeing up an additional $14,868,049 in cap space but adds 4 more players needing replaced.

I know that there's a lot of talk about post-June 1 cuts and/or trades making more sense. Though this may be true in some cases, post-June 1 trades and or cuts do not make the Browns cap compliant on March 12th nor do they give the Browns cap capital to participate in free agency or the draft.

Best 1st move the Browns/Berry can make on March 12th, trade Newsome and get back his $13,377,000 5th year option guaranteed salary with some draft picks if the Browns can find a buyer.

What Cleveland Browns Offseason Could Look Like If They Trade Myles Garrett

MKC jumping in there, grabbing a bucket and trying to bail water is NOT something you generally see.

I think that the off-season is long and there's still the draft and FA. A lot can happen to sway someone's attitude towards the team. This can (and IMO, will) be forgotten.

That said, AB/KS are under an immense amount of pressure to make a drastic correction in the next season. If we miss the playoffs under any circumstances, you gotta imagine they're done here... and there's NO way Garrett wants to go through a rebuild.

I saw something yesterday that Denzel Ward has been talking to Myles and said yesterday that if the Browns trade Myles, he would question whether he wants to remain here also.

Not a good look to who though? 31 other teams fans are already photoshopping Myles in their team’s uniform. The point is to make the situation untenable and keep applying pressure on the Browns to force the trade. His agency, Klutch Sports, has a wealth of experience in this.

It's not a good look period from my POV. He has every right to want to be traded, but I think he is going about it wrong. I think the public statement was enough and now you work behind the scenes to try and get something done.

Klutch Sports also orchestrated LeBron's "taking my talents to South Beach" show, no? I think even Lebron would like that redo that whole ordeal.

Right now the end game is hard to figure.

Is there a world where Myles is pacified and recommitted?

Is there a deal that can be made that will help the Browns?

Haslam is not happy right now. There is nothing about the Browns that is a good look for the organization.

There is only one thing that can change the look. Find a quarterback in this draft.

Klutch Sports was created after "talents to South beach," but to your point, the same people were involved, much less experienced than they are now. LeBron got what he wanted at that time and went on to win rings. Cavs fans burned his jersey and he came back and gave the city it's first championship since '64.

I understand your POV, however. IMO, Myles is doing what he feels is necessary to make sure he is traded. Be loud and make things uncomfortable. I don't have any issue with what he is doing but I'm also viewing the Browns from the perspective that they are a really bad team/organization and are one of the furthest teams away from winning a Super Bowl.

First off... I'm tipping my hat to your A+ posting. Hilarious video with hilarious commentary.

While it's good to see someone going to bat (if we're calling it that) for the team, only the Browns could be making headlines after not having a meaningful game for months.

All Myles is doing is simply telling the truth about the direction the franchise is heading and that is making those responsible, "uncomfortable".

Myles #1 priority is winning and playing for a Championship...the Browns owner and chief strategist have other priorities.

A group of fed up Browns fans gathered outside the stadium tonight. They said the news that Myles Garrett is now looking to leave Cleveland was the last straw for them, and now they're calling for a change in leadership for the team.

Myles own contract this season will make it almost impossible to trade. Again, I believe they will keep the band together 1 more year. Probably draft Abdul Carter to give Myles a playmaker and legit threat across from him to solidify the defense and take some pressure off of him and help him improve his numbers. They will trade and cut some pieces that do not factor into their future plans and renegotiate contracts of those that do. That will allow them to free up enough money for a few free agents that don't break the bank but can be solid additions. Go back to a run heavy zone blocking scheme and use the play action pass off the run. The Kevin Stefanski way with a QB like Kirk Cousins.

The team owns the 3-14 record but is much better than that record indicates. They beat two playoff teams in the Steelers and Ravens. Went to Denver and gave the Broncos who was a playoff team a heck of a game and easily could have won that game if not for the INT's. The FO sees this team as the team Winston QB'ed without as many INT's. With a veteran QB like Cousins and a strong run game paired with a very good defense which the Browns do have this team could look much more like 2023 version next year than 2024.

If it does not work next off season is the year to blow it up. If it does work build off the success and find the long-term answer at QB to eventually replace the bridge QB hopefully Kirk Cousins.

I imagine Myles knows the talent level of the team...its age...and that guys will have to be released prior to March 12th to get compliant with the cap. Myles knows that the roster could likely get worse and any QB is a bridge or a flyer in the 2025 draft...an old Cousins or a raw Milroe isn't competing for a SB.

We won't be competition until '27...if then. This notion that all we need is a serviceable QB doesn't take that ^ into consideration.

Deshaun Watson gutted this team.

I know we all want to blame someone within the Browns. There is no blame because the Browns did the right thing trying to put the team in position to win a championship.

The problem is the attempt failed.

Now looking at the team they really have no way to compete in the foreseeable future. We are not going to win the division with any roster we patch together.

The only clear path ahead is to stack draft assets over the next two years. The chance to be on a true path is to land a quarterback who will become a franchise quarterback, and build around the guy with new young talent.

If that means being stuck without money to play in free agency. So be it. No real choice.

The Browns have to turn over the roster.

Pretending to compete with bs temporary fixes is like lipstick on a toad with warts.

Yes we could be a .500 team. What is the point? All that does is leave you in a place where it is harder to improve.

I don't care where Myles plays. Get rid of him and get the best deal possible.

I guess it boils down to this. You either back the player who has given Browns fans years of highlight reels, played his ass of and has been one of the top players at his position for years with class and dignity because he wants be somewhere with a winning team....

Or you back management who has gotten us to the place we are now. Who created this crap storm and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel to the player.

I'll back the player. He's doing what he feels he needs to do and I don't blame him. There was a time not so long ago when someone held others accountable it was considered a good thing. Now. It's not a good look?

This will be an unpopular stance but the unstated goal for 2025 should be - to be the worst team in football.

We are close now and no matter what we do we could only get marginally better.

The worst teams currently are the Browns, Giants, Jets, TN, Raiders, Saints. The Bears and NE have their quarterbacks.

If we keep Myles and the other veterans and add a guy like Cousins. We might win eight games or so.

Strip the team of all the big contracts of their aging veterans and trade Myles, Ward and anybody else we can get high picks for.

We could reach the goal of having the first pick and have 3 or more first round picks.

That will go a long way in getting better in 2026 and beyond. A Sashi repeat.

If we do that we might get Arch Manning in 2026.

The line to the public will be we are trying to improve.

It matters little if anyone bitches.

I hate throwing away 2025 but really I already accept that the year is shot anyway.

We really don't have to try and be the worse team. We were the 2nd worse team this past year. Being the worse or one of the worse seems to come naturally. Little effort needed! smirk

There is no sense in taking half measures.

We gain nothing by winning 8 games or so. All that does is give you worse odds at getting better.

Another year of winning two or three games is no worse than what we have been through before.

We go into 2026 with the first pick and two or three more first round picks. After this year's draft where we have pick two. We should no doubt trade down. Unless we select a quarterback we are planning to be "the Man."

Haslam needs to make it clear to Berry and KS. If they object give them the option to be fired.

I totally disagree. Winning and losing builds a culture. I believe you should always play to win. I think down the stretch of the season last year Stefanski knew what he was doing starting DTR and Zappe and now he has players wanting to be traded. Mahomes was picked what 10 in the draft. You do not have to have the number 1 overall pick to draft a QB. Green Bay got 2 hall of famers and who knows how the guy they got now pans out from late 1st and 2nd round picks. You develop QB's and build around them. Tanking does not work. Josh Allen was the best QB the last time the Browns picked #1 overall and he went 6th. Play to win and let the chips fall where they fall. The Ravens and Steelers have done just that for years. They stand pat and take the best player on their board that falls to them. That is how you win.

I understand that point of view. I just disagree.

Every year is different as is every draft.

Other teams and what they have done are not relevant to where the Browns are now.

They didn't trade for DW and pay him $230 guaranteed. They didn't give up three first round picks and more.

They are not in a situation like the Browns are in.

Take a cold hard look at the Browns roster. We don't have a quarterback for 2025 unless you are counting DTR.

We have one legit receiver. No real running back. The OL is aging and expensive. Myles wants to be traded. Ward may follow. JOK is a question mark. Who are the core players?

Look at the cap and the state of current contracts.

What are we building upon?

We can tread water and accomplish nothing. Or, become financially solvent by removing large veteran contracts.

Stock pile draft assets and build with a younger roster. Moving Myles and clearing expensive vets gives you a chance to actually accomplish something other than being mediocre.

Trying to lose eats at the heart of every player on the team. And it's a feeling they won't soon forget. They can see when a FO and coaching staff does that and it's something they will never forget. The end of this past season after pulling Winston may be a part of the reason Myles feels the way he does now.

I am not suggesting that the team lose intentionally.

I don't think we will have to try and lose.

There is so much roster movement year to year. Every year is a new season. Pressure is to win week to week.

Careers for the most part are short. Players staying with a team is rare.

Memories have to be short.

The Browns are in a bad place. You have to have a plan. I don't think the plan should be "we can patch the lineup and see how many games we can win."

That ends up being a path to nowhere.

Myles should be traded. Bitonio will retire soon. Ward, Njoku, Pocic, Teller, Conklin, Harris, Tomlinson They will all be gone in couple years.

We were banking that DW was going to be with us for ten years not fall off a cliff.

We have to adjust course because of the car wreck.

Sounds like a heck of a plan. I am guessing by midnight or 1 am Jimmy will sell the team, all FO employees, including the incompetent admin Asst's will be fired. Sounds a sure track to the Super Bowl next year, since out owner and leadership don't care about winning.

I wonder if they actually know how futile that is. The last time a strong effort to get the owner to sell the team, Modell moved it to Baltimore. Probably not the sharpest knives in the drawer.....

I agree. A few goofballs holding signs and chanting isn't going to do anything.

The reality is that Haslam will sell the team when he wants to sell the team. Another reality is that Myles probably isn't going to get traded until after this season. Moving him would place to much strain on the cap. The cap is tight right now, but it is manageable. It becomes less so if we trade Myles.

I agree with Njoku...we aren't all that far away from a solid rebound. Face it, QB play is what has hurt the team. Even if we got average QB play our record would have been much better. We saw good results with Flacco and to a lesser extent Winston. The problem with those guys was the ability to sustain a certain level of play. Especially with Winston. Either he was pretty darn good or some level of bad.

I also think the move away from AVP to Dorsey was a colossal mistake. Not that AVP was all that good or that Dorsey was all that bad, just the change was bad. It just monkeyed with the whole mojo on the offensive side of the ball. The changes brought by the O-line coach simply didn't register with the players on the O line. By all accounts the guy wasn't even coaching the O-line at some point after mid season.

The fix lies with 3 areas on the O. Now that we are going back to Stefanskis O, we need an average QB at minimum. We need to bolster the RB room. It's a good draft for backs. I'd draft 2. One fairly early, one later. We also need another TE. There are some good TE's in this draft. With Stefanski's 2 TE sets, we need someone else to pair with Njoku. The TE's can bolster the run game blocking and pass protection. The are also a average QB's best friend withe the type of routes they run.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
