Wow! Are they going to restructure him?

I can't believe he is hitting the market. He's older, but he is still very good.

This is a bit of strange move....

He had 55 catches for almost 700+ yards in 14 games and got cut? Seems pretty productive for a veteran receiver.

Anyone know what he was owed this coming season?

This is the type of character guy I'd like on the Browns. Not saying we need him, but his locker room presence would be an added benefit that anyone could use.

I like Joe J better...

either draft a WR like Jordy Nelson on day 2, or bring Steve Sanders along.

Joe is not better than Bruce. I like Joe, but he would be better utilized in the slot. Bruce is one heck of a receiver. His age prohibits him from being a long-term solution, but the guy can still play........and play well!

I don't wanna draft another wide out. Sick of us drafting WRs, DBs, and QBs all the time.

I still can't believe Bruce got cut. I can only guess that they are going to bring him back at less money. Can they do that?

If they don't want him, I would like for us to go after Bruce. He's good.......he's real good.

Bruce is definitely a talented WR. I just like having Joe's height. And I like him as our 2nd WR behind Braylon. Put Cribbs, Carter, etc. at the slot.

I agree. Joe would be better suited for the slot. We need a true #2 WR. And when Joe retires we'll need a #3.

Heck, why can't we bring him in for less money?

I like Joe better than Issac...but Bruce is a better player.

Bruce can still put up Pro Bowl numbers at his age, Joe can't.

Can't disagree with that one.. Is he worth a look though? Would bringing him in stunt the growth of Cribbs at WR?

Cribbs is so much more important as a ST than a WR. Issac Bruce can still bring it...but it all depends. I wouldn't be shocked if he ended up 1) resigning with the Rams or 2) Signing for the Pats for one last ring. Also, don't be surprised to see the Jags make a run at him.

I don't think we're looking to grow him as a WR. We use him on returns and coverage with special teams. Not sure we want to risk him being on the field as a WR for a big number of snaps.

Bruce still plays like a pro bowler at his age, and has the lockerroom influence we all love.

I say we should definitely give him a look or sign him rght out if there are several sutiors.

Braylon, Bruce, Winslow, annd Joe J. in the slot. Wow!!!! that would be one heck of a lineup.

Bruce would demand coverage, he's not just a body like Carter, he's a threat. Defensive coordinators would go crazy trying to cover all that talent. Not to mention Jamal!

I for one would love to sign him.

Wasn't Bruce hurt last year? I have him on my fantasy team, but I got rid of him, lol, cuz he didn't get much PT. Anyone know?

I like WRs that can catch.

Bruce can catch.

Therefore I like Bruce.

I'd have ZERO problem bringing him in for a look see. Third down....JJ, KW and Bruce as great possession guys to go along with a dynamic WR like Edwards.

Me likey.

Holy cow! I can't believe Bruce got cut loose. I know the Rams like Drew Bennett, but he's not the WR Bruce is even at his age. Huh.

I wonder how much he'd cost to bring in? The only issue I can see is that he is decidedly less productive on natural turf. His game is built for the fast, indoor track and it's more precise footing. Once the weather turns sour, I'm not sure he can be the "mudder" we need to have outside.

Very interesting...

I've seen rumors of this coming for a while now. Rumor has it that SF is his likely destination. Mike Martz is their new OC.

Bruce was cut due to his price tag, he was also cut last year I think & resigned, word is he will not be resigned unless the deal is real cheap. So in reality he ant coming back to the Rams,

I'd sign Bruce if it was a fair avergae deal, yes he's lost a step, but if healthy, he can be a locker room presence and a big help to Brady in his first year as a starter if thats the road were taking.
Having him other side of Edwards would open up the D, they would have to respect both recievers and the TE and put JJ in the slot, Bruce can still catch and to me thats # 1

This really surprised me, Bruce is still a very good receiver. I'd LOVE to have him.

I would welcome Bruce to the Browns in a heartbeat. I only question if he wants to play out in the elements of Cleveland at such an advanced age. He's had it good for years.

career numbers...942 rec. for 14,109 yards. I knew he was good but I didn't realize how good. He has averaged over 1,000 yards a year for his entire career.

IMO, we already have a sure-handed possession veteran reciever in JJ. Bruce would be a lateral move in that we don't get any younger at the position. What kind of contract would we sign him to at his age? We can't afford to invest in another WR who is one the doorstep of retirement. I'm not saying he wouldn't be a good receiver for us, but I think we need to get younger at the #2 position.

Why?

Wide receivers are like running backs. They are valuable and help your team, but they can be found in a number of places.

Bruce can help us win now, and we are reaching the point where winning now is a distinct possibility.

Why is everyone ripping on Stallworth so much... Do people forget how badly he destroyed the Browns this year?

Stallworth's numbers may have not been amazing, but thats because of Moss Welker and Watson, not to mention Kevin Faulk.

Who is ripping on Stallworth?

Stallworth is a pretty good WR. He is really good after the catch. He runs hard, has good speed, and is elusive enough.

I think Bruce is more polished, more dependable, more professional, and a better fit in the locker room.

Nothing against Dante, but I just think Bruce is a quality WR.

Btw............do you guys know that he is almost a sure bet for the HOF?

I always thought he'd finish his career as a Ram for that reason.

There is a thread on Williams. It's called............."Browns to Acquire Williams," or something very similar. It's about 7 to 8 pages long.

I commented on it. I love the trade. Williams was my # 1 FA hopeful this year. I was bummed when they franchised him. I'm ecstatic about the trade. No way the # 56 pick would provide what Williams can. I don't want to derail this thread, so go to that one. But yeah.........I love it.
