I was hoping there was some way that wouldn't violate NFL rules to compensate him for that money. I'm glad they figured out a work around.
After today's games:
Myles Garrett is now -200 to win DPOY.
TJ Watt is +200
Micah Parsons in +350
Looking forward to watching Garrett inducted into the HoF someday.
Kevin Stefanski is now -950 to win COY on FD. He was +1100 in mid-December.
Watt has 5 more sacks and will lead the league in sacks for the third time.
Myles is the best player on the best defense and his pass rush win rate is probably tops in the league along with Parsons, but I thought that 5 game stretch of no sacks would have sunk him. Browns did a lot of campaigning for Myles. Looks like it might work.
Class move by our FO. Our organization has done some growing up IMO.
I have a lot of respect for Watt. He plays hard and is consistent in his effort.
However, when you watch his games. He is rarely doubled. He does not get the attention of the offense like Myles does.
It is more rare to ever see Myles get one on one coverage. That is the real difference. Both are great players but sacks are over rated when you look at true defensive impact by a player.
I am unclear to what the voters look at when they cast a vote for DPOY.
IMO Myles is the best defensive player.
I don't know what opposing offensive coordinators are doing, or what the pitt defensive schemes are producing, but I see a ton of Watt sacks where it looks like there is nobody assigned to block him.

Smart aleck reply here, and not meant for you, but I bet the analytics department told them to do that.
How times have changed...
We're putting together quite the pipeline of quality NFL FO candidates. Especially women and POC. It's nice that the league now rewards that... we may be receiving more 3rd round sup picks as compensation if these two are hired.
We're banking the second of two 3rd round picks, this year, for the Viking's hiring of Kwesi Adofo-Mensah in '22.
Looks like the Browns are single-handedly making more win-wins out of this than the entire league ever did with the Rooney Rule. Kudos.
Happy to see John Kelly Jr will be for his 14th training camp.
Interesting on Watkins.
Watkins probably sees guys like Bell getting game reps and is shaking his head.
Who is Watkins? Like, for real, no sarcasm. Is that someone we should actually take note of?
I remember him from the pre-season. If I recall correctly, I was a little surprised when we didn't keep him on the 54.

Honestly, I thought he was going to make the final roster.

He is Sammy Watkins younger brother.

I'm really confused about what this even means.

Sammy's cousin if my memory is correct.
May be. I know he is some relation.
Well that's just great.
Stupid David Bell! 😡
