Tim Settle, DT Jessie Bates, FS Desmond Harrison, OT Deon Cain, WR Dante Pettis, WR Mike Gesicki, TE
Settle I think would be perfect in our D (and will go earlier thatn 64 in reality), but I get why people wouldn't want to add another defensive lineman. Bates is the best FS still available, arguably. I don't think there's an LT prospect left that is worthy of 64, but this guy if his head is on straight might be. Cain and Pettis are my favorite WR left, but I think the dropoff between these guys and what we could get in the 4th isn't that significant. Gesicki would be interesting - another receiving weapon.
BPA is probably Gesicki (TE), Hughes (CB), Settle (DT), or Green (DE).
Looks like we brought in (or spent time with) Harrison for a visit.
I think you should give predator time to return home from a day of work, as his pick wasn't even up at 11pm last night, so maybe until after 6. I'm going to have to leave shortly, up next if we receive Predators pick.
Once again the best edge rusher in the class falls to the Steelers and they select Lorenzo Carter. Throw Long is on the clock. I hope you all drafted the running back you wanted as no one is safe.
The Jaguars take Mike Gesicki, TE, PSU. started looking at Gesicki two days ago, as some reports had him as a possibility with the Jaguars earlier pick, and then he gets mentioned all over on DT.s
So I was uncertain if Predator or the pick before were going to pick him up.
Edit: Yeah he did ... 17. Los Angeles Chargers Connor Williams
Tell you what, I went over the first two round 3 times and never saw his name. I think that means I officially suck. Thanks for the correction, though. I'll try to get over sucking.
DTs of value are slim here, though one is a steal here I think: Tim Settle Trenton Thompson is a maybe Rasheem Green was DT in college, but he's pretty light for NFL
WR, there are a handful that are a fit at 64: Deon Cain Dante Pettis Antonio Callaway Anthony Miller
Can we just stop and take a moment to remember that this mock draft correctly selected the Browns pick in 2017, this time last year.
Larry Ogunjobi was selected in this mock draft for the Browns at pick #68, if I recall right. And the Browns took Larry Ogunjobi with that same pick. maybe that's just because Sashi was secretly a board member
So let's be careful and get it right again this year.
Bates is a tall, lean safety for the Demon Deacons. He has outstanding range, instincts and ball skills from the deep middle and he flashed the ability to match up in the slot. He's a very fluid athlete and has plenty of makeup speed if he's caught out of position. Against the run, he's quick to key/read and fill the alley. He is a low, wrap/drag tackler and he does have some misses on tape. His lack of strength shows up at times. Overall, Bates is a very athletic middle-of-the-field defender and he has the versatility to cover in the slot. He should quickly emerge as a Pro Bowl-caliber player.
BJ Hill, DT, N.C. State
Hill lines up at defensive tackle for the Wolfpack. He has broad shoulders and a thick, muscular frame for the position. Against the run, he plays with balance and power at the point of attack and flashes the quickness to penetrate/disrupt. His effort to chase plays is excellent. As a pass rusher, he has a quick slap/rip move and he generates a lot of pressures. He lacks sack production, but I believe that will come in time. Overall, Hill is very athletic and his best football is ahead of him.

Or, another CB at 64? (Ranked #33 on Jeremiah's Top 50)
Donte Jackson, CB, LSU
Jackson is an undersized cornerback with rare twitch and make-up speed. LSU moved him all over the field in its scheme. He played inside, outside and even took some reps at safety. In press coverage, he's patient, but I'd like to see him be more physical with his hands at the line of scrimmage. He usually plays out of a quarter turn (butt toward the sideline). He uses his quickness and speed to mirror wideouts underneath and down the field. He rarely gets caught out of position, but when he does, he has the speed to recover. From off coverage, he has a quick pedal and is a very easy/fluid mover. His instincts and ball skills are good but not great. He's a willing tackler, but he's not ultra-aggressive in run support. Overall, Jackson doesn't make a ton of plays, but I believe his best football is ahead of him. He's a special athlete.
(Bates is ranked #38 and Hill is #50 on this list)
These are the guys I have left on my "Moderately Average Board" in positions that we'd care to draft:
ANTHONY MILLER WR MEMPHIS CHUKWUMA OKORAFOR OT WESTERN MICHIGAN JESSIE BATES S WAKE FOREST NATHAN SHEPHERD DL FORT HAYS STATE DANTE PETTIS WR WASHINGTON MICHAEL GALLUP WR COLORADO ST DERRICK NNADI DL FLORIDA STATE DUKE EJIOFOR EDGE WAKE FOREST MARTINAS RANKIN OT MISSISSIPPI STATE EQUANIMEOUS ST BROWN WR NOTRE DAME
It's been more than 16 Hours since NE was on the Clock ...
Maybe cfrs is working on his tax return, or maybe he does tax preparations for a living, or maybe his snarktometric phasers have gone out of whack. You never know.
I'd actually consider SHAQUEM GRIFFIN here. He won't be there by the next time we'd pick, and I think his "floor" is probably a stand-out special teams guy with a great locker-room presence.

I like Bates here if we want to take a S but if we are looking at WR here Simmie Cobbs is the one, as good as Ward is at CB he struggled containing Cobbs ...
I agree he was dominate against OSU this year. My only worry is his slow 40 time.He did improve on his slow 4.64 combine 40, running a 4.58 at his pro day.
Did a very quick go thru of the thread to get the names so far... These I'd say are 'nominated' to this point. Perhaps we get 2 names we can 2nd, then of those the poll can be built when CHS gets home???

Tho I really want to put Griffin on the list, he is just below these two on my board.
Think I got everyone and removed those drafted.. I hope.
I just made the same mistake also...I think I was looking at the position and must of missed Daniels some how so I'm sure it will happen several times.

Some of those were me replying with candidates, I wasn't recommending them.
Great value pick by Hammer at #69, taking Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia - IMO. I wouldn't mind if the Browns waited until #64 to take their RB if Chubb's still available. It would free them to double up on CBs (Oliver & Alexander) if they want to, or go CB & WR (Chark), CB & FS (Harrison), or CB and one of the OTs (Crosby, O'Neill, Jones) at 33 & 35.
Nice pick. Figured he'd go in the 3rd round somewhere.
I wouldn't have picked him had Reuben Foster been charged before the first round. Picking Derwin James instead of Roquan is killing me. Right now I need an edge and I still needed a linebacker, so I got both. I also voted for him for our 64th pick
Yeah, I nominated him for the Browns, but ultimately voted for a WR, because I think it's a bigger need. Was even considering him for the Jets, but they don't really need a linebacker either.
Putting this 7-round mock draft by Scott Dochterman of Land of 10 here. Of note is that his picks for the Browns at #1, 4, 33 and 35 exactly mirror our board draft; Darnold, Chubb, Guice, and Oliver.
Did anyone pick up the Saints when rigs dropped out? I can pick them up....
also if people aren't so brittle over a question I bring this up again......do we consider replacing GM's?
I wasn't being brittle. I was responding to your question when I was the subject matter. I answered it for you. If you don't want a question answered, don't ask it.
Now that you've asked this question again, and it's not about me, I'd say it's up to the guy running this draft. Maybe he's had contact with the GM in question?
The Denver Broncos Select Josey Jewell ILB Iowa ...
Love that player...hope he ends up a Brown!
CHS may I make a suggestion. Can an enterprising poster make a list of taken players via position. QB, OT, OG/OL, C/OL, WR, RB, TE, FB Edge (LB/DE), DT, LB, CB, S/DB, K, P, LS
This way those whose picks are coming up they can easily see who has been taken and from there add each pick to the perspective list. I'm sure I'll be one of those needing that list. Just don't want to do the pick to only find out they were taken at #21...lol just a suggestion.
Several years ago I would have had an excel sheet on this draft as I use to be very anal but over the years I guess old age has made me Lazy...

Several years ago I would have had an excel sheet on this draft as I use to be very anal but over the years I guess old age has made me Lazy... [/color]
There is an Excel sheet and posters keep removing the link when they draft.
I have an Excel file that is tracking taken/ available players but I cannot see how to attach it. I will share it if someone can help me with posting it.
Looks like THROW LONG made the pick. There aren’t many, but maybe it’s the spelling? Tarvarius Moore. There are many articles on the guy in relation to the draft.
80 Houston Texans - Tavaris Moore, Defensive Back, Southern Miss
I can barely find a draft profile on this guy. Most sites don't even rank him in the top 300-500. Someone have inside info on this guy?
Actually I tried to move up with ThrowLong but he didn't see my offer until after he made the pick...Ironically I was moving up to pick the same player.
ExclDawg, the problem is this kid did not get invited to the combine. He has excellent film and he ran a 4.3 something at his Pro Day. Actually could be one of the better FS in this draft. jmho, I hope we are able to get him, possibly 64 but if he falls I hope we move back into the 3rd round to get him!
Houston Texans select Royce Freeman and his non-bowl-playin (self), and moving on that means cfrs15 is up with the Patriots.
Man Houston had a lot of picks since the start of the 3rd, I did not know they were up.
Meanwhile: Someone Got Godwin Igwibuke!!! Are you serious, Oh my gosh, another local guy who saw this kid in HS.
He's all over the field he's gonna play every position, wonder how it'll translate into the NFL. For Real I don't think he may get drafted but it wouldn't surprise me if he makes a team. Godwin Igwibuke, S, Northwestern, out of Pickerington Ohio.
I hope this guy gets to the Browns on a UDFA! or however. ( I think his first name is "Touchdown")
So the Raiders pick now. The board member who picks for the Raiders hasn't actually made a pick since round 1 ( the picks in 2 and 3 where made after time expired). Also hasn't been online since the 12th according to last activity registered. Are we going to wait or just assume that the Raiders GM is no longer interested and move on?
How can we speed this up to get at least the 4th round done by the actually beginning of the draft. Tonight when basically the picks will stop. from 8 am. to 9 pm. EST put all on a one hour clock. If they are going to be gone they should leave a list in order of preference for their picks. If 5 picks away and I'm leaving the board for the night. I will submit 1-5 picks to you and if #3 is still available then so be it.
Also periodically can we show that Excel sheet of Positions and players taken??? or a link to the official LIST? I know my pick is last of this round. And I have no clue of who is available or I guess Who is TAKEN so that I do not duplicate it.
Thank you for conducting the Mock. I'm not sure we will get a 5th round in!

I would suggest that everyone send CHS their "Top 10" if they notice they are picking 5-15 spots away from the current location and you are about to go away for a bit. It might pick things up a bit.
got to put in the amount of picks you are away...if 15 away top 10 does you know good. 100% would be putting top 15 if 15 away. Of course odds are pretty good at this stage that one of those 10 would be available, but not 100%.
Oh and CHS..sorry for being so dense. I know you stated it once before as it would get deleted from individuals making their picks. But just noticed you keeping it on the Official Mock draft board...sorry for the Homer Simpson in me
I can only ASSume we are going to end this board draft after the 4th round. I think we will get it in but I doubt we can do the 5th round by the time the draft starts on Thursday.
So maybe I have Mr. Irrelevant in our Board draft as I am the last pick of the 4th...lol

Do This, I can't understand how someone in this day and age can't get on their phone/computer or whatever and check this draft 2-3 times a day to see if it's their turn I think a one hour limit should be installed and I believe we could complete this draft ... JMHO
It helps a lot if you send me picks beforehand. We just got 4 done. Also make sure you're sending PMs to the person who drafts after you. I can't always get to it in a timely manner, or worse I assume you already have done it.
If you want to do that you should start the draft at a specific time, for example, Sunday at 1 pm eastern, because that's when the games are played, and have an entire round, the first round go by about 6pm, and then shut the whole thing off until the next week at Sunday at 1pm eastern to do the 2nd round, and in 6-7 weeks you'd have the whole draft done.
But you should give time for people to see the thread before anyone signs up for teams.
I also think the Browns picks should be chosen by a different participant with each consecutive pick.
yeah it now shows just picks 130 on with no names and basically all the still to come picks...1-129 where there were names of picks have disappeared!
Why would somebody wish to sabatoge this...can't won't make a pick till I get the spreadsheet. Was trying to prepare for my upcoming pick...and then in the middle this happens
I just removed everyone's editing access and created filters so people can sort the document without editing it themselves. If anyone wants access to edit it, please pm me with your email account and I can add you.
I apologise profusely if that was me - I accessed it via google sheets and thought it was read only, so filtered to see who was left. I don't recall saving it though or being asked to? I definitely did not remove any rows though, just added filtering.
somebody PM ed he is ready last time he complained nobody told him...he has me on ignore so I cannot, he's tired of losing football discussions I guess

Enjoy
Oh came here to say so long gentlemen and ladies...I gave my picks already to CHS for 137 and also 139 of the 5th round.

Hopefully we will get this 5th round in before the draft.
This 8+ hour intervals have to stop...come on guys/gals lets get this going. If you will be away for a while give CHS your picks in order of preference. Letting him know you will be away. There is no reason for a pick to go for more than an hour. jmho 17 picks away for my 5th rounder...outside of the time I am enjoying this. Thank you CHS you did a great job so far. Props out to you!
I say message people when they are up, and if they don't respond in an hour, BPA them. It's the fifth round anyway, so I doubt not too many people will complain. And if they do, tell them they could of left a "Best 5" list with CHS.
