My brother went to the doctor today for tests. His hand has been shaking uncontrolably for a while now, and so the doctor finally sent him to the hospital to be checked out.
The good news is that he does not have ALS ..... which was our family's worst fear. The bad news is that he shows possible signs of Parkinson's. He is going to have to go to Cleveland fro further evaluation.
Please say a prayer for my brother, if you are the praying kind. I believe it can work miracles.
Even if you don't believe it can work miracles, it certainly can't hurt. Prayers up, boss.
Hopefully the evaluation will determine it is not serious and can be treated and cured.
Nothing but positive thoughts and prayers for your brother, YT.
God my heavenly father
Jesus my Lord and savior
The Holy Spirit
I pray for all who pray to you
Their prayers will be answered by your Will
I pray for all to accept your Will with Grace and Faith
I pray for all to enter your Kingdom who believe that Jesus died for our sins
In Heaven we will live eternity in the Joy of God
Amen
I said a few prayers for you and your brother.
Prayers your way Ytown.
Also, hopefully it makes you feel better to know that by being so close to Cleveland, he’ll have access to some of the best medical care in the world.
Thanks everyone.
The only thing about Cleveland having good facilities is that I am in Youngstown. lol
I have to take him to a place in Willoughby .... and that's about 90 minutes each way. That's OK though.
You got em YTown. I pray(a rosary) at bedtime every night before I hit the hay.
Rest assured your brother will be "Top Of Mind" tonight.
Where/what type of facility, etc, etc are you taking him to?
I really am not 100% sure. All I know is that it's in Willoughby.
You and your Bro have them.
Prayers are on the way buddy. That place is easy to get to. Should be about 80 minutes from your house.
Prayers to you and your family, YTown.
My prayers are sent as well, Y-town, for your brother, you, family and doctors. Be strong.
Prayers for your brother. Like GM said it is a fairly easy drive, about 75 to 80 minutes unless you drive like me on the turnpike. Watch out for cops between Mayfield and Route 91. I see them there a lot
JUst got back from the hospital, and it is definitely Parkinson's. Fortunately, it is late onset. (my brother is 56) The doctor said that is generally not as bad as early onset. The doc prescribed some medicine for my brother, so hopefully it will help slow the progression. Thank you all for the prayers, and please keep them coming.
Great to learn of this! His will. Sent some more just now for all.
I hesitate to call this great news, but as good as can be expected. Still praying for the best...
Wow. Long time since I've seen this name. Welcome back and don't be a stranger!
The doctor is discussing (with my brother) installing some sort of device in his brain. (I think that's what he said) This device would shock/stimulate the part of his brain that produces dopemine, and try to help the symptoms.
