Ok it's been a while since I posted about all my crap lol. I don't remember if I posted after my last health updates. Last October I was declared cancer free after 9 years of fighting stage iv colon cancer. I was diagnosed with chronic pancreatis (which they thought was pancreatic cancer but the biopsy's came back negative, December of 22 Fast forward to today.

Still fighting, and waiting on a date for my whipple surgery. The last biopsy's show cancer but we won't know how bad till they get in there and sell off some more of my organs. I swear they are selling them off for a nice profit. This time they will take the head and body of the pancreas, bile ducts, ampulla, some small intestine, duodenum, my kitchen sink, and anything else they see in there. I am already becoming diabetic and I have not even had the surgery yet but my glucose keeps bouncing all over the charts, low 50's one hour, over 300 a few hours later and bouncing around faster than a basketball in an NBA game. I'm down to 135 pounds from 253. 28 inch waist slim fit jeans, mens small shirts, hell my hat size even went from large to small, and I am, buying my jeans in the boys department. Been waiting for over a week for them to schedule a date for the surgery but no date yet. They know the cancer is in my ampulla, not 100 percent sure yet if it has spread to the bile ducts, and pancreas yet and won't know till after the surgery, and all the pathology labs come back. For those who have not seen me in 18 months you might not recognize me as I look like this guy

Keep fighting that good fight, my friend. You're always in my prayers.

You've also gotten a lot paler since I've last seen you wink

I am at that age where you kinda are waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Everytime I check in with people I grew up with. All I hear about are funerals or cancer reports.

Cancer has been in my family both my sister and father.

I feel fortunate to be in overall excellent health. I do not take that for granted. Each day I watch the sun come up and then watch it set.

I am thankful for each day.

I hope you are able to still enjoy what you have. Maintain a good attitude and get the most you can from each day.

That's what happens when you quit drinking beer -- I told you it was a terrible idea.

At least we know that any weight is your fighting weight. Keep up the good fight, we're all in your corner.

Much love and prayers. 😘

As you know I've been following along with what's been going on with you. I'm always in your corner even when you don't see me standing there with you. One thing for sure is that you're not a quitter. And I'll never quit praying for you and your entire family as you continue your fight.

My thoughts, prayers and love are with you. Keep that undefeated record intact.

Hopefully they can get that scheduled with the right people ASAP. I've been playing phone tag with scheduling at the Lou Stokes VAMC, so I can understand how frustrating waiting can be. Of course they'd call when one's just soaped up in the shower or shortly after one's highly territorial and excessively energetic dog has discovered she can run through the backyard fence and took me on a not so merry chase. Hang in there. Hope it doesn't hurt too much to laugh. I'll be trying to round up some positive thoughts to send your way.

Still fighting, hell my wife had to get between me and a new Doc two weeks ago when I did go after him. I was going to show him he is in fact NOT God.

GM...I'm thankful that you are willing to openly discuss your personal health challenges with fellow DT members. All of us are dealing with the aging process and while we might believe we are invincible...we are not. At some point in our lives most us will be faced with health challenges of some sort. We are forced to put our trust in the healthcare industry..our doctors and nurses.

BUT, IMO, the most important defense we have in our battle concerning health challenges is our "mental attitude"...how we approach the battle..and who we lean on for support..family, faith, friends or fellow message board members.

Keep fighting...mac

Sorry to hear that GM. I’ve been going through it too. Well over a decade with no heart issues and a few weeks ago started getting chest pains that feel like a heart attack pain but only last 1-2 minutes followed by 5-10 od headache and feeling wiped out. The, I feel normal. They ruled out my heart itself as the issue. Took a battery of tests and scans and zero answers. Cardiologist thinks it’s a small veinous blockage in a vein smaller than smaller that a human hair. He put me on a med that spurs vein growth and told me my body would grow a new view to bypass the blocked vein. Never heard of that one.

Then yesterday morning I was just walking down stairs and got to the second step from the bottom and my meniscus tendon decided to snap sending me to the floor reeling. No twisted feet, no misstep, just snap! Fml. So depending rather I have it repaired or removed altogether I’m looking at 3-6 weeks recovery for removal or 3-6 months for recovering from the repair.

All of that was about a month after having cancer removed from my bladder again. So, I damn sure feel for ya, and get what you’re going through.

Prayers for you too. Even if you dont want them.
Posted By: TTTDawg Re: Health update - 03/22/24 11:47 PM
Prayers from here GM.....

I've had cancer and beat it.

I also have a stent in my RCA(right coronary artery) which was 95 percent blocked. Just couldn't get off the couch to save my life. My wife, a Nurse Director at the Cleveland Clinic, figured something wasn't right.

The term positivity comes to mind. thumbsup

Well that kills my motivation. Thanks, bro-
I live on the left side of the state, and I'd have driven over for that.
I'm a small-time 'niche pornographer' who advertises on the dark web. I have at least 4 potential clients who will pay good money ($1/squeeze) for my film footage.
Did I mention "small-time?"

Seriously, GM: I don't know anyone who's more of a fighter than you.
Respect, admiration, best wishes and prayers, my friend.

OK surgery is next month. Already butting heads with my surgeon. He told me 7 to 14 day Hospital stay for Whipple Procedure, I told him 5 days tops and I plan on going for a motorcycle ride on day 14 laugh (God willing and the creeks don't rise)
Posted By: FATE Re: Health update - 04/20/24 02:39 PM
Uhhh. Motorcycle on day 14 may be pushing it a little.

I did a little research after your OP, I think they'll tape you back together and you'll be good to go in no time... no time still being a little more than 14 days. poke

Is chemo a post game decision based on the surgery?

Make sure you let us all know when you have the actual date.
Posted By: PitDAWG Re: Health update - 04/20/24 03:10 PM
You know I'm in your corner my friend. I know how anxious it can make a person to get back to normal after a surgery. Just be sure not to do anything to hurt yourself.

Butting heads with the Doctor who will likely be using his sharpest scalpel to fix what's ailing you...not sure that would be wise...then again, your doc needs to understand, you are "a Browns fan" and those folks can be rather stubborn...! crazy

My advice...seek a compromise with your surgeon about the length of your hospital stay...try to be flexible.. thumbsup

Good luck and "a Browns prayer" for you and your family...we don't give up!

In your corner, my friend. Hope you bring that motorcycle back to the Muni Lot this year. I'd like to bring my boy up for a game and meet the whole crew again.
