For the sake of our head coach search we want the Titans and Saints to win.

so we skipped the wild card and went straight to the divisional round?

I kind of like Bills fans, I compare them to us they love their team. So I'm kind of pulling for them throughout the playoffs.

That’s why some around here always tell other members to go root for the Bills, because we all kind of like them, unless we’re playing them.

It is, I was poking a little fun at telling other members to go root for the Bills.

I probably agree. People would have killed Kitchens if he called that WR pass and it didn't work.

Happy for the Bills and Allen.

Hope they win this.

Both of these QBs could have been Browns.

Refs. The refs hate Houston and want Buffalo to win.

How do you think Duke, Carlos, Poyer all feel right now.

So happy to be away from the crapshow I'm sure.

O’Brien is a moron for challenging it.

How’s that for a start?

Crazy that the Texans allow their GM to also challenge plays.

I was comparing him to a young Elway. In '83, '84, Elway was a scatter-armed QB with a howitzer on his shoulder and great running/scrambling ability. I have no way of knowing if Allen progresses to that level going forward, but I wouldn't bet against it.

THAT WORK, EVEN THOUGH, the other team is playing "really, really, really really, REALLY!!! GOOD! Defense!

A change in fortune for the Texans

A 3 point lead and if this score holds, will be the score we beat the Bills by.

Bills should have called a time out, and kicked the FG try

Think about it!

That 3rd and 1 was at the 28ish, the closest FG try they would have had, all after were negative yard plays.

Greedy played 12 games as a rookie, and had 47 total tackles. That's just shy of 4 tackles per game.

Denzel Ward had 44 in 12 games.

They are both talented, though Greedy needs more experience.

Touchdown wins it. Field goal the other team gets a shot.

I know some would disagree, I still think the NFL is better off expanding the playoffs instead of expanding to an 17-18 game season (assuming one of those two has to happen).

That would mean a 6-game wildcard weekend. We’d get KC hosting Pittsburgh and GB hosting LA (rams).

I would rather they add nothing, but an expanded wildcard would seem to add more late season intrigue than forcing every team to play one more game.

The Watson scramble after the called blitz gets 2 guys chasing him and he runs toward the first down marker, play.

What a play call on 3rd and 24, the entire D is lined up 20 deep at the marker,

How about a screen, with blockers out in front?????

no,

a naked screen dump off with no blockers for 6 yards incomplete, had about as much chance as a thing with no chance at all.

I think this is where it all ends for NE, Side note I think TEN has a couple guys on oline that are FA. I’d be planning on signing one. I’d love to have saffold

Derrick Henry runs angry - like Marshawn Lynch with some speed.

Kitchens would have called 10 straight passes in 11 personnel to start the game.

7-3 titans

Let's go! Titan up!

Bet Tennessee hates they wasted so much time on Mariota when it was clear to even a casual observer he just wasn’t that good.

He's better than Baker.

mariota or tannehill?

Baker is better than Josh Allen.

I do not think I have ever seen a QB with a lower IQ than Allen.

Pats execute so well.

mariota or tannehill?

Both.
All I think when I watch this Titans team is that this should be a blue print for the Browns. Dominant lines, superb blocking and a 10pass to 15run play split.

Derrick Henry being so big and also fast doesn't seem fair.

He's been among the best QBs in the league this year. Kenyon Drake was also awesome. Devante Parker. Jarvis Landry.

Adam Gase.

Heisman Trophy Winner and Alabama Crimson Tider Derrick Henry running through the Cheatriots!

We're going to need you to root for the Patriots so McDaniels isn't tied up. Thanks.

Except the Browns have a horrible offensive line.
Posted By: Rishuz Re: Divisional Round Gameday Thread - 01/05/20 03:14 AM
I followed the Jets closely this year.

Gase is not a coach I would be confident in.

It’s amazing how good QB’s can suddenly become when the running game is on lock down and the defense has to commit to that at all costs. If the run game is still successful even when defenses commit all-out, the QB is going to have a much much easier job.

Or just do what the QB does best. That helps it turns out.

Don Shula 90, had no idea

I pray we can land Jack Conklin in FA...Though I'm sure the Titans will try their best to keep him.

They're winning in the fourth quarter of a road playoff game against the Patriots. This is the exact opposite of choking.

(Tannehill just threw a horrible pick and they're still not choking.)

Basically you just put yourself right where Belichick wants you. Up one and 5 minutes to go.
Yea, I don’t care how old and out of it the Brady is, I don’t want to give it back to him late in the 4th with a 1 point lead in New England

Game. With that the New England Patriots franchise is no more. It's finished, dead, done.

I really was not impressed by McDaniels play calling..especially on the failed goal line try

McDaniels sucks and he will suck here, silly to think he’s the answer

I just want someone other than Kitchens.

No way McDaniels is worse than Kitchens. Plus he coached Brady for years.

Vrabel won with Tannehill as QB... Now that's a ? about McDaniels with the almighty Brady

So McDaniels didn't win with Brady?

Brady did not have Henry in his backfield.

Just got back from the Toledo Walleye hockey game. In between periods, when the game was tied (buffalo houston game) they put the game on the video board. Timing was perfect. Got to see the field goal.

He'll be here on Monday, better get used to it.
Posted By: Dawgs4Life Re: Divisional Round Gameday Thread - 01/05/20 10:30 AM
The Pats offense was just totally limited by a lack of playmakers. And they had 3 OL go down early in the year. It was running on fumes
Posted By: Ballpeen Re: Divisional Round Gameday Thread - 01/05/20 12:27 PM
The Titans won the game the way we need to win games. They ran the ball 36 times v passing the ball 25 times. Combine that with a solid D and you can win.

We have good enough qb's and receivers, and great backs. In FA and the draft, we need to pretty much ignore those positions. Maybe look for a 3rd down type back in FA. I would also look for a TE in free agency. Njoku isn't the answer....I do like Carlson. I would give him a solid chance in camp.

We need O line and D everywhere. Focus on that.
Posted By: Homewood Dog Re: Divisional Round Gameday Thread - 01/05/20 01:16 PM
The Titans are the team we were suppose to be. WE should follow their blueprint if we want to win. We have better players at the skill positions and I believe Baker is or will be a better QB that Tannyhill. We need to beef up the O-line and get another 2 or 3 players on D.

And some of us mentioned Vrabel as HC and were poo pood. He looks pretty solid now...

I said this earlier as well. It’s a blueprint. It requires a total commitment to the trenches and a run first mindset. We’ve got the skill pieces. We need a blocking / tackling fundamentalist coach and GM. At least 3 new OL, new LB’s and a safety and position coaches that just never let up on blocking & tackling. People would marvel at how Baker rebounded much the way Tannehill has been reborn. It’s amazing how good any QB looks when the run game and blocking are on lockdown.

I can't believe the Pats lost. I'm really happy they did, I'm sick of them being so good year after year.

We should offer to trade OBJ for Vrabel.
Posted By: Homewood Dog Re: Divisional Round Gameday Thread - 01/05/20 04:02 PM
The Steelers have been using this blueprint for the last 50 years and look at how successful they have been. We did it too in the mid to late 80's with Marty and had 3 or 4 really good years. We can do it again very soon if we beef up the O-line.
