I'm going to pick the home teams this week. Chiefs vs 49ers Super Bowl.
However, the Titans are playing outstanding football.. I certainly didn't think they'd make it this far. It's been a long time since we've seen a back do what Derrick Henry has done the last few weeks, if it has ever happened. Titans vs Chiefs preview:
https://www.footballoutsiders.com/game-previews/2020/afc-championship-preview-2020
both road teams are winning on sunday.
Titans need to play defense to stop KC. The Chiefs are like the Chip Kelly-era Oregon Ducks....they rely on fast, quick scores, but have very little defense. Their MO is not to stop the other team, it is to outscore the other team. TN beat them in the regular season...they could do it again. However, after a 50 year hiatus I think KC finally return to the Super Bowl.
San Francisco's defense is legit. Kyle Shanahan is legit, creative and smart. I think Shanahan out coaches GB's HC and Salah and his star studded D stifle Rodgers.
SUPER BOWL Prediction: KC v SF. High octane offense vs bruising Defense. My money is always on Defense overpowering and stopping the offense.
Imagine in the 100th Anniversary of the league if we have a Super Bowl 1 reunion w/KC v GB Super Bowl.
I'm Picking KC over Tennessee, to much fire power unless the Titans get the lead and control the clock ..
I'm Picking GB over SF Rodgers ism rolling now ...
Tennessee needs to shorten the game, make Mahommes forced to press and hope for turnovers.
If KC doesn't turn the ball over, the Titans do not have a chance.
Chiefs and Niners blowouts!
I am under the impression that defense and run games still win championships.
Titans vs 49ers in SB.
I'm rooting for the Packers so that we can hire Joe Woods already. Pettine needs to do us a favor and make it happen.
I'm hoping the 49ers lose so we can get our offensive coordinator sooner.
Home teams win, I think, but I wouldn’t be shocked if either of the road teams won, too. I’m in a playoff pool and I’ll win $100 if KC wins the SB, so I’m in their corner.
KC and San Fran both win. 49ers D is too good and KC will jump out early, making Henry less of a threat.
I think the Packers will get boat-raced in SF, just like they were earlier this year. Tennessee has a chance if Derrick Henry can gash the Chiefs early and often, like he did when they played KC earlier this year. Titans will also need to force some turnovers to win, IMO. Otherwise, its a Niners-Chiefs Super Bowl.
Niners - Chiefs, Chiefs win it all.
both road teams are winning on sunday.
Want to bet on that?
Chiefs vs. 49ers.
Man, I'm really rooting for the Titans. Nashville is on FIRE right now!
For a style of ball people say is outdated and the past, the Titans have shown that's simply not true. They made a mockery out of the Ravens "new style" of football. I grew up in the time of the big, bruising RB's who just beat you down and wore you out through all four quarters of the game. That by the fourth quarter, were just running all over you. I love that style of football. That combined with a bruising defense and you have a winning formula.
Alas I still give KC the edge. If they get out to an early lead, the Titans just aren't built to come back from that. However, Andy Reid has a reputation, and rightfully so, of blowing the big games.
The Green Bay verses 49'ers game I look to be a blow out with the 49'ers running away with it.
So prediction?
A 49'ers verses Kansas City SB.
My hope?
A 49er's verses Titans SB.
I’ll say SF and KC meet in the title game
I usually don’t have a favorite in the playoffs but this year I really want to see the Titans brand of trench domination, sound tackling and zone blocking/run down your throat win the day. The last 4 games of theirs I’ve watched I keep flashing to my Browns and thinking this is who we should be!
They also seem to have the magic this year. Going to foxburough and beating the patriots and then going into Baltimore and beating the Ravens is a pretty stunning stretch of road games. Plus them against the 49ers in the SB would be very very interesting from an X&O standpoint.
As much as the comparison pains me, the Titans remind me of the Steelers the year they got in and won all their games on the road on their way to the one for the thumb. (Correct me if that wasn’t the right year). I feel like no one wants a piece of the Titans right now. Any of them would almost prefer to play any of the other three than the Titans. There’s zero mystery to what they’re going to do, you are either going to beat them on the line of scrimmage/ front 7 or you won’t.
I thought the first game was on at 1:00 ... dang, another 2 hours to wait
I am under the impression that defense and run games still win championships.
Titans vs 49ers in SB.

People are sleeping on the Packers defense and run games. They are pretty good, too, and a hot Rodgers probably trumps Jimmy G.
I'm not sure it's as foregone a conclusion as some are making out.
The ghost of Hank Stram will help the Chiefs matriculate down the field into the Super Bowl.
Adam Humphries active for TEN
Man do I miss watching my Browns play in the championship, I watch them play the Packers in 1965, the Colts in 1968, the Vikings in 1969, I count the Raiders in 1980 because that was the winner take all, the Broncos in 1986-87-89
I long for the Browns to win again ...
I’m jealous of you. I’ve literally never seen the browns do anything of note
First pregame is all about Derek Henry,
little coveragae about the Titans stopping Mahomes.
Surprising to me.
I’m jealous of you. I’ve literally never seen the browns do anything of note
Sorry just reminiscing but those were good times

haha yeah I’m just messing ... I’ve heard it was awesome
Every year we can see it to some extent more or less,
Pressuring the quarterback .. WILL NOT! .. be enough to get teams out of this round and on to the Super Bowl.
It takes another umph. from the offense.
Quarterback pressures alone, is NOT enough to get teams past the Championhship rounds and into the Super Bowl.
You can see it every year, just watch.
Can the Browns keep their top 4 Tight Ends on the team by opening day 2020?
I mean, can they return their top 3 tight ends from this past year and have one name in the mix to add depth?
It's what is on my mind.

both road teams are winning Whineing on sunday.
hmm. Maybe. May have fixed it.
Do people know the context of the U.S. national anthem?
The context, Francis Scott Key, wrote it,
The words to a tune that was already around,
He was in a jail, or prisoner of war, or in a cell, and infirmed in a bed, (I presume), and has to ask another person, (presumably another person captured)
And the question goes out if the City, if the City or Fort had withstood the onslaught of the British forces attempt to take/subdue it,
And the evidence would be the flag on the flagpole,
And the night before the battle raged on and as morning rose, the Words are asking what the outcome of the battle was.
I understand you have to mix it up but if Tennessee is going to win they need to feed Henry all day long ...
That’s right chiefs. Keep giving them free yards.
We need the Titans offensive coordinator or whoever is calling those plays.
Titans playing with poise while Chiefs appear tight. You'd expect the opposite.
When you’re the road team, you can play loose.
KC, being down 10, with only 5 to go in the 2nd, is almost a worse position than being down 24ish with almost the whole 2nd quarter still to play, last week.
Getting behind and coming back isn't something you should do every week especially in the playoffs

Bold commercial there for the NFL. Good for them.

I really hate listening to Romo
What is the Chiefs mascot supposed to be?
I guess having an Indian Mascot isn't politically correct so they chose that ...
The Titans OC should get a shot at being a HC. He has Tannehill playing good enough to win playoff games. That alone is a minor miracle. Plus that run game is a thing of beauty. Anyone that thinks running the ball isn't worth much in the modern NFL needs to readjust that thinking.
Hopefully, the Browns are taking notes. With Chubb and Hunt we should be running the ball to set up the pass not the other way around. Play action works.

It’s a wolf, their spirit animal.

I am too. But we didn't have Chubb at the time.
I wanted a big bruising back and we now have one but at the time... I really liked Henry.
We need to take note of how the Titans have played. Play great defense and RUN the ball. Set up the play-action. It still works and would work very well in our division.
The honey badger still has it

I agree Henry is a great back and I also agree Chubb should be featured on our offense ...
I hope the Chiefs win just because I really like Andy Reid. He's a really great coach and I don't think he will ever get his due if he never gets a ring.
KC’s D can’t stop a runny nose.
Man, the Chiefs load the box, know the run is coming and still can't stop Henry.
There you go. We didn't interview the Titans OC why exactly?
Derick Henry 14 Carries 61 Yards 4.4 YPC
That little football knocked that big man on his ass...lmbo
Survivor? Who watches this [bleep]?
Titans need a deep throw every now and then on 1st or 2nd down to loosen up the defense.
Not sure if it's just me..but Henry doesn't seem to adjust on the run..It appears he goes where the play is called. Runs right into a huge pile up often instead of moving out and away from it.
Statue QBs can’t do that.
Nice tackling by #35.
/sarc
Earlier, on that out paced footrace, #35 of the titans was like "son of a gun"
that time, #35 of the titans was like, ehh, make a stop???? nah, i'll just try and swipe a fumble as you walk into the end zone,
So that's 2 scores where #35 was the last one to not be able to stop the Chief's player today.
I think Nick Chubb qualifies.
I might have said earlier, the Titans are what the Browns should have looked like if we had a half-competent coach.
Mahomes is incredible. Ten dominated the game but they dont have the better QB
Hey, its Carmela Soprano again. Hey Carm, where's the gabba goo?
If the Chiefs score here, this game is over!
“Stop”
Dude dropped a huge gain
“Stop”
Dude dropped a huge gain
They got off the field on the opening drive after the half without giving up points, after giving up a score at the end of the 1st half, is the point.
If the Chiefs go up 11, that's it, ballgame.
How does 76 of the Chiefs not get called for a hold when
he clearly grabbed and held the player by the players facemask deep in the backfield.
Mahomes keeps rolling to the same side and running, and the titans can’t stop it
KC gets away with a lot of holding.
If the Titans come back, it'll be the greatest comeback in the history of football, With a WR playing quarterback!
I wonder how many times Andy Reid has wondered what might be if they had just suspended Kareem Hunt instead of releasing him? They're still going to the SB, but Damien Williams is no K Hunt.

I don't know about that PI.
That's just another example of pass interference, ruining the game of football.
1. it wasn't interference
2. don't make players actually make catches
3. it's reviewable now, so Titans should have reviewed it,
4. If I'm watching football, I want to see the game come down to the real plays, not dumb, non occurring pass interferences, that get flagged for 41 yards?

Sure is. I wonder if we'll ever see it in Cleveland!!!

No. But if the Packers win. . .
I’m not as emotionally invested in this game but I’d like to see Jimmy G in the Super Bowl.
Reminder:
Both of these teams run the same offense that we are going to run in 2020.
Both teams with good defensive stops
Packers should have gone for it on fourth down.

Did K'Waun Willliams just force a fumble in the NFC championship game,
Is this the guy who was a DB for the Browns about 4 years ago?
If so,
Whatever happened to him??
He just forced a fumble in the NFC championship game?
Are you sure? After the analytics guys cleaned house and gutted the roster, ex-browns aren't allowed to make plays for other teams in the playoffs,
except only every playoff game I anytime watch!
Yes, it’s the same Williams I believe
This is starting to get to be not a game. Rodgers needs to pick up his team and carry them.
So, Chiefs vs ... (I say Niners)
I agree.

Hey TL - Raheem Mostert is a former Cleveland Brown.
Raheem Mostert, former Cleveland Brown legend, about to head to the Super Bowl.
Also, really looking forward to that Shanahan/Kubiak offense in Cleveland next year.
What the heck does Jerry Rice have around his neck? LOL
and browns being browns we'll be the only ones it'll turn out to be a disaster for...although i really want it to work for us more than anything
Mike Pettine looking more and more like Dr Evil's larger brother. He's Maxi-Me.
There are a handful of ex-Browns here
If the Packers lose bad enough, maybe they will fire Pettine and the Browns could bring him back on board.
Green Bay giving the 49ers help they don't need.
How did Green Bay win so many regular season games? Looking like they hired Freddie or something.

Should be a fun game. I'll be curious what the O/U is set at.
They sure do. Can't stop the run, turnovers, and what we do best; give up a TD right before the half. Browns all the way

I’ll say 52

I would rather see Kyle Shanahan's 30 point Power Point presentation even more than knowing the "Kokinis story."
The 3rd quarter is over and Jimmy Garoppolo has only thrown 6 passes and SF is winning 34-7 in the year 2020.
Amazing job by Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch on coaching and building this team.
General observation: how wide and open the field looks for good offenses compared to ours; receivers running free with no DB within 5 yards. I remember many instances when we had multiple receivers and even more multiple defenders in the same spot on the field that our QB ended up having to throw.

I would rather see Kyle Shanahan's 30 point Power Point presentation even more than knowing the "Kokinis story."
Four years ago Kyle Shanahan presented Mike Pettine (then Browns HC) with 32 reasons (via Powerpoint) to release him from his OC contact w/ Browns. Today, he took a dump on Pettine in the NFC title game.
https://twitter.com/BrownsBeat/status/1219076259726028800
32! Even better.
Ray Farmer texting to the sidelines telling Shanahan how to run an offense. Lol.
Not surprisingly, Farmer doesn't have a job in the NFL.
Raheem Mostert is the only player in NFL history with 200+ rush yards and 4+ rush TD in a playoff game.
https://twitter.com/NFLResearch/status/1219078140418355200
It's unfortunate that Hue was a fan of big backs and power running, and our front office listened to him.
Good to see Mostert have success, though. Looks like he's got a better grip on ball security after some hard work.
Did you know that Raheem Mostert was on the Eagles, Dolphins, Ravens, Browns, Jets and Bears and never got a single carry until he went to his seventh team, the 49ers?
https://twitter.com/MichaelDavSmith/status/1219057240960880640
Truthfully, I thought Mostert had some zip and ran hard when he was with us (maybe it was just preseason)

Farmer and Sashi will never have another job In the NFL
Back in those days if you weren't a Farmer or Sashi the homers brought thunder and their know it all attitude down on you
Farmer was the worst GM in the history of the NFL.
Farmer had this unjustified arrogance about him.
It's no surprise his prized 1st RD pick Manziel
Is out of the NFL too.
Could never understand the hype and love for Farmer.
Could never understand the hype and love for Farmer.
Perfect storm. Farmer wasn't Lombardi. Marla Ridenour wrote an article about how Miami was about to hire him away from the Browns and he was the next "hot, up and coming GM." Jimmy chased the shiny object. We were duped (myself included on the initial excitement).
Farmer was not only atrocious, but was weak.

Are all Chuck Berry songs pretty much the same song, or is that just me?
You mean you think he's just like AC/DC?
Watching the games yesterday, it really became clear how far we need to go to be considered in the same class as the teams, (even the losing teams) from yesterday..
One thing I love about the way the 49ers do business:
If you can not stop their run game. Shanahan will pound you into submission.
Garoppolo threw eight passed for 69 yards.
Incredible. As I watched the first half I was thinking the Packers can not stop them. Can't do it.
49ers totally controlled the LOS.
When you can do that you demoralize a team.
It was beautiful.
Agreed. Running game is working great, up multiple scores, just keep pounding them into submission. No reason to get cute or fancy there, as many coaches no doubt would have.
I loved watching the 49'ers using an "old school" game plan to pummel their opponents into submission.
Seattle plays that game as well.
It is tempting to mix in the pass.
But Shanahan to his credit basically said; "prove you can stop the run." "Prove it".
Packers could not.
Great teams can enforce their will. Be that in balance. Run game. Or, the pass game.
Kind of like the old Lombardi power sweep.
They know it's coming. They know he knows it's coming. And here it is.
Execute. Be great at something.
The frustration this year with the Browns was there was no rhyme or reason to their offense. They were all over the place. The execution was horrible.
From what I have seen of KS with the Vikings there will be an identity.
Too bad Shanahan forgot to do that in the SB against the Pats when he was OC for the Falcons. Run the damn ball, Kyle, run it.
He has learned since then.
I have watched the 49ers this year a decent amount.
Really impressive on both sides of the ball.
Very disciplined team. I read where his father watches everything and consults with his son. Very cool to be able to do that.
The team really executes well.
Stirring!
Fascinating!
