Fiedorowicz,Moses, Turner, Southward so far
RB Charles Sims to the Bucs.
I know we should probably take a WR but I still like Borland ILB WISCONSIN ... JMHO
Isn't he rather slow?
I think that we want quicker ILB in Pettine's defense.
Lots of ILBers to pick at the moment. I'd love Christian Jones or Moncrief here.
yeah, Borland is a phone-booth LBer. great player in the 80s, unfortunately, it's not the 80s.

I'm not sure why .... with Doug Martin already on board there.
maybe the RB from Auburn?? he might fit nicely in a ZB scheme
i'm just gonna say it....I feel like it's going to be Dri Archer here
Wow, guess I'm not the only one who likes Southward and Turner.
FS Brooks, WR remains a strong option...ILB Christian Jones...Browns may even go after a RB since they are being swooped up
ugh.....hate them running behind. seeing the pick is in just makes the wait excruciating
The value is at WR and ILB here. I like Brown of Loisville and Bryant
We should also think about a center that can play Guard for two years then take Macks place. Not a huge need until next year but if one is there.....
Donte Moncrief
Donte Moncrief WR _

Too obvious. We'll draft a DT.

i see too much Quincy Morgan in him
Browns take Kirksey linebacker from Iowa
hmmm or an outside LB... that's the first head scratcher for me...
Well I liked Brown better.
Hes' light. 6'2 233lbs. Better get him in the weight room and add some beef!
Quote:

we wrote the wrong Christian .... LBer. Should have been Jones.
oh well, definitely some Pettine influence here. the guy can fly. he's just tiny and gets pushed around. be interesting to see if he can push for non-ST time.
Well I got the Christian part right lol I actually like Kirksey he seems to be a high energy tackler but thought he was a 4-5th round guy...I'm ok with this pick...but what are we going to do at WR...have to get Brandon Coleman in round 4
Christian Kirksey.
I think we overdrafted a bit there. I think that he would have been there in the 4th. Is he a starter?

Yeah don't know much about him - analysis I just read said he was small, fast, can cover, but is weak...
Mel sounds like he really likes him FWIW

I'm scratching like a dog..why not a WR?

So we draft a small OLB,
He will play inside for us.....good player but I liked a couple of other ILB better. At the end of the day however, they know what fits their scheme better than me.

What are we going to do at WR? Stand pat with what we've got man. Play Defense and RUN the ball! Ground and pound Think jets of a couple years ago. Hell they made the AFC championship game with Sanchez at QB. Play great D and run run run!

Haha that's what I thought too...I actually never thought wed take him...because he's small and Dquells size...Thought we should wait for Skov or Christian Jones in round 4...but oh well...Perhaps Street from Pitt at WR or Brandon Coleman will be around in round 4
Preston Brown comes off the board next. I think that he might have been a better ILB prospect.
Damn that Preston Brown looks impressive. 255... a real thumper inside.
Guess we were more into a pass coverage LB....

We might still take one of those LB's in round 4. Can't have too many linebackers in a 3-4 D. Steelers and Ravens stockpile linebackers every year.
Yeah Brown was the star of the Louisville/Miami game for me.
Oh well, I guess the Browns got the memo to "knock it off" from the league.
I think St. Louis is having a heck of a draft...
San Fran is also having a good draft. Just looks like the rich keep getting richer.

I don't know if I'd say St. Louis is the rich... but I agree with you on San Fran... Pats having a good draft too...
Looks like Harbaugh liked the "Slow footed" Borland
slow and small but hits hard...
Ravens take a safety Brooks 4.42 40 he can run...
Looks like the Ravens are rebuilding that defense. Ozzy sure does know his stuff.

I don't have a problem with Borland, but we have a full back type linebacker already. He's a good player, just doesn't fit the mold we need.

They've been quietly stocking a nice roster with their RG3 haul.
Definitely true...evident by the Ravens and Steelers once again selecting linebackers when they already have more than legit starters
Terrance Brooks to the Ravens. He'll be a solid player in the NFL, just hopefully not for them.
Texans take Louis Nix with a pick from Philly via us via Pittsburgh.
Hot potato!
Was kind of hoping he'd go undrafted because of his twitter/instagram account...

nix? What'd he do?
Nothing really. Apparently teams were just very concerned about how often he posts on social media.
jc
And Moncrief is off the board. I really like what Indy has with Moncrief, T.Y., and Dar'Rick Rodgers.
Browns trade up and are on the board now
Well , the pick is in.
Receiver? DB? P?
Browns select with 94th pick:
Terrance West RB TOW
Looks like a solid value there.
I like West but I wouldn't have spent both fourths on him at this point. At least we got a good player this time. Seeyou in the 6th round.
Seems like Pettine was telling the truth. We WILL run the football. Sounds good to me! Ground and pound Browns!
I really, really like this pick. He and McKinnon were my mid round RB picks.
I know people want WR, but I see 4 or 5 more guys I think would be good choices yet.
What was the price to move up? Both 4ths?
Yeah really like West, but we paid both 4ths to move up 8-9 spots?? I was thinking we droped a 6th to do that hmm.
4th and a 6th?
Aditi Kinkhabwala ‏@AKinkhabwala 1m
Browns trade 49ers for the 94th overall pick, take Towson RB Terrance West. Give 49ers picks 106 (4th round), 180 (6th).
Expand Reply R
Ok....thanks Ytown. That's what I figured the trade would be, but somebody said we traded both 4ths and I thought that was nuts. Great value, and well worth a 6th round pick to move up and get.

Sorry, We just gave up our 6th. Still have 127 and 218.

No thanks. 5th 6th and 7th round is where we get our project linemen at. Take a couple guards or a DL. We're good to go at WR. All they need to do is block.
Ground and pound is coming to Cleveland.
We have a 4th and a 7th left, if I count picks right.
I would not be surprised to see us take that 7th and the 4th we got for next year from the Bills to move back into maybe the 5th round this year.

I think this is ridiculous. Brian Hoyer could have handed the ball off to West and Tate.
Well, he's big. 225 and he ran a 4.5 40.
Quote:
STRENGTHS: Solidly-built throughout with good muscle build to shake off defenders. Smooth hips and lower body to stay balanced, working off and around blocks well with a good combination of power and foot quickness. Physical, tough and lowers his pads to finish through contact. Good vision, patience and natural feel as a ballcarrier to press the hole and attack the line of scrimmage, following his blocks. Strong cuts and breaks tackles at all levels . A chore to tackle. Good speed and won?t slow down at the second level with long strides in the open field. Workhorse and wears down defenses. Catches the ball well (31 career catches). Strong work ethic and devoted to the game with his head on straight, keeping his eyes on the prize. Extremely productive career (led the team in rushing each of the last three seasons) and leaves Towson as the school?s all-time leading rusher (4,854), setting FCS single-season records in 2013 for rushing yards (2,509) and rushing touchdowns (41).
WEAKNESSES: Tends to run too high at times and needs to consistently keep his pad level low and keep himself small at the line of scrimmage without slowing down. Makes too much contact with his blockers inside. Lacks elite speed to routinely win the edge. Not much burst and needs a few steps to get his full momentum going. Runs hard, but lacks shifty, explosive feet or twitchy moves. Needs to improve his awareness in pass protection to gain better positioning and show better technique. Needs to hold the ball high and tight and will get sloppy in this area, especially in space. Didn't face top-flight competition each week at the FCS level.
Steelers took Dri Archer.

Bleh. If I never see Vince Young under Center fr the Browns in a regular season game it will be too soon. he can run a little bit, but that really is the extent of anything approaching average QB talent from Young.
Maybe if we run the triple option ......

Some options. Not spectacular talent, but mid/late what do you expect...
*4th Martavis Bryant
4th Devin Street
4th Kevin Norwood
*7th Jeff Janis
7th Brandon Coleman
*7th L'Damian Washington
Anyone know of any decent WR's in still available in FA? All we need is a year out of one. Draft one at the top next year maybe....
Quote:
Steelers took Dri Archer.
I'd be worried if they didn't try the same thing and fail with Chris Rainey.
Is Santonio Holmes still unsigned? How about Miles Austin?

Glad to see a fellow Kent Stater get picked up.
Bryant is a guy I love. He's raw, but has the potential to be a beast in a few years.

A record number were drafted so figure on a few decent stop gaps being cut.

We didn't spend both 4ths on him. We send them the first 4th rounder and the 6th rounder. We have the late 4th rounder and our 7th rounder. I wouldn't be surprised if we use it to try and trade up further in the 4th round.
Both are available, and some others:
Danario Alexander
Robert Meachem
Earl Bennett
Austin Collie
Josh Morgan
Dezmon Briscoe
My top WRs available:
1) Bryant
2) Street
3) Gallon
4) Abbrederis
5) Campanaro
http://cornerblitz.com/2014/Rankings/Post-Combine/WRf.aspx
I can't argue with that list, I'd question though if we draft a small guy (Gallon, Campanaro) - thus the others I had on my list. I think Campanaro is the next Welker...
4th Kevin Norwood
*7th Jeff Janis
7th Brandon Coleman
*7th L'Damian Washington
I really like Devin Street from Pitt at WR. I'd be happy if they drafted him.
Me too, really hope is available.
