great news. Now keep him and Joseph on the field together. Harrison has a nose for the ball, play him at FS

I would wager that may be the plan for next year - both have been more than decent. For all that bag on Sendejo, dude has put his body on the line and I wish him all the best. If we can solidify the safety position - and the answers may be in house - weve just had quite a few injuries - that answers a question on D.

I think they are planning on getting Delpit back. Joesph might be gone.
Posted By: jfanent Re: Injury Report - 12/23/20 07:29 PM
That wouldn't be wise. Delpit hasn't played down to show what he's got to offer, and he's coming back from an injury that could permanently affect his play.

I read on the Jets page that their starting middle linebacker Harvey Langl is on the IR.

Outstanding!!

Having both he and Sendejo back will be good.
Sendejo isn't great, but he is better than what's behind him!

Please remember with Delpit

It may take another year for him to fully comeback from the Achilles injury.

Posted By: GratefulDawg Re: Injury Report - 12/25/20 02:35 PM
Ronnie Harrison back at practice but unlikely to play vs. Jets

The good news is that safety Ronnie Harrison is back at practice and appears poised to play for the Browns again in 2020.

The bad news is that we will probably have to wait another week before we see Harrison patrolling the secondary for Cleveland. That’s according to Browns defensive coordinator Joe Woods, who laid the sobering news in his press conference on Thursday.

“Look for him more on the field maybe next week”, Woods said, referring to the Week 17 finale with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Harrison has missed three games with a shoulder injury. He had been playing progressively better football as he got acclimated to Cleveland following his late-summer trade from Jacksonville. Karl Joseph and Sheldrick Redwine have filled in for Harrison, and figure on that occurring in Sunday’s meeting with the Jets in New York.

Well, our OL depth looks unfortunate with Teller and Hubbard hurt and Wills on the COVID list. Alex Taylor would be the next man up at OT if Lamm or Conklin miss any plays it looks like. I liked him as a developmental prospect in the draft, so hopefully Callahan worked his magic.

Meh, he's more "proven" anyways. I'd rather have developed a guy for down the road who would hopefully be ascending. At this point, Sendejo is what he is, and as you said that's not that great.

That Delpit injury sucked. Hopefully we'll get back to "normal" practice-wise for next season and the coaches can get in more live work with the young guys.
Posted By: PrplPplEater Re: Injury Report - 12/25/20 03:21 PM
If nothing else, I think that we can expect our depth to be a little better at the position next season. I fully expect us to plan for Delpit not being back and to bring in a proper talent for the position; maybe another in the Draft. If Delpit doesn't make it back, then we're still ok. If he does make it back, then we are that much better... but, he can still take his time getting back up to playing speed.
Posted By: THROW LONG Re: Injury Report - 12/25/20 04:30 PM
Delpit could end up being nothing or could end up being a big star after the injury. ( KW2, and Justin Gilbert), but he won't cost any trade value from this point.
Posted By: Dawgs4Life Re: Injury Report - 12/25/20 05:59 PM
I wish Harrison could play this weekend
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Injury Report - 12/25/20 09:43 PM
Teller is is great for sure but if you’re made of glass you won’t last long in nfl. He’s constantly out. Not a good start. Hopefully wills can play. Missing two starters will make this a tough game.

And you very well may be right, maybe I am paranoid. However, for all this to "happen" 18 hours from kickoff and come this morning we are still losing players. I'm sorry, I just cant buy this is all coincidence. Perhaps this I'd payback for bottlegate....who knows....

Posted By: bonefish Re: Injury Report - 12/27/20 03:12 PM

The timing is not relevant.

The pandemic works at it's own pace.

It does not discriminate between teams.

It is happening all over the world and the Browns are a part of that world.

Goodson caught it somehow. Then he shared a pool with the others.

Those are the facts.
Posted By: Homewood Dog Re: Injury Report - 12/27/20 03:18 PM
Bone I don't think it's a conspiracy It just happened at an inopportune time. I can understand how slick feels. It's the built up frustration and failure over the years associated with being a Browns fan. If there's fairness and justice we will overcome this and make the playoffs. That would include beating the Steelers next week too.
Posted By: bonefish Re: Injury Report - 12/27/20 03:25 PM

I get that. I really do.

I just come from a different place when adversity happens.

If one of your tires goes flat while you are on the road.

You get out of the car. Jack it up. Put on the spare. And keep going.

You don't sit there and moan and bitch why me. The road has hazards. Fix the flat and move on.
Posted By: Homewood Dog Re: Injury Report - 12/27/20 03:30 PM
Exactly. I've learned as I got older instead of crying about a problem channel the energy into working to solve it. It's OK to bitch a little, about 30 seconds, but that's it. thumbsup

Yes but this isn't my life we are talking about. I have delt with adversity before. And I am still doing fine. However, I'm not blind when it comes to the odds intentionally being stacked against someone. I never said they were stacked intentionally against me, if odds were intentionally stacked against me I'm to stubborn to notice. However for whatever reason I seem to be able to recognize when its happening to soneone else

Lamm, Bitonio, Tretter, Harris, Conklin.
Michael Dunn backing up the inside. Not sure who the swing tackle would be.

Malcolm Smith and Takitaki at LB with Mack Wilson subbing in.

Derrick Willies and J'Marcus Bradley outside w/ Hunt working the slot and Hall trying to take the top off the defense.

Bleh, new plan...
It's time to go full Jordan and roll out the 23 offense.

Chubb and Hunt in the backfield
Hunt motions out to the slot.
The Chief and Bryant out wide
Hooper in tight to the line

...and here we go...

Lamm could actually be a step up in the running game, though.

At least he’s not some random dude who has never played. Lamm has been on the team for two years now and has starting experience. It could be way worse.

like Roman Oben? Joaquin Gonzalez?

Luckly, the players only scripted the first 20 plays. SO, we threw those out and will just run 2 TE 2 WR sets all game. New Orleans has been doing it for 2 weeks now.

I'd do that some for sure. I'd guarantee either Chubb and Hunt could be a semi effective FB blocker type in some running situations if they stayed in the backfield together. And don't under estimate how effective Chubb is at catching the ball either - if both stayed in and went and ran routes ... and for play-action it could work too.

Be interesting to see

1. How prepared the team is with 4 starting WRs out.
2. How creative on the fly KS can be. Can he run a few plays that he drew up in the dirt so to speak.

I keep hearing over and over how we didn't have our top 4 WR's for this game. I just want to make a correction to that.

We were without our top SIX wide receivers yesterday. OBJ and Jo Jo being on IR we were using our 7th, 8th, and 9th Wide receivers yesterday.
