we hope to see a drive or two of crisp offensive play … and then a quick exit without injuries!
I’m also curious to see how we cover Ridley because that may give us an idea about our approach at KC
I hope they change their mind and keep the starters on the sideline. No matter what happens, this game means nothing. The writers are going to type stuff that doesn't matter too.
jc
If you need a link to stream the game, PM me.
Just about time for kickoff. It’s cool to be on SNF, even if it’s a dress rehearsal
Holding on Harris to start … ugh
Baker having problems with throwing lanes
Yeah the ATL d ends are just putting hands up
Not a good drive at all. That’s why you play a little in preseason. This will be good for them
Someone should tell Hodges that drops are no way to make a team.
I wish Subway sammys really looked how they look in their commercials.
Just a discombobulated drive there (by both teams lol)
Not a good drive at all. That’s why you play a little in preseason. This will be good for them
We overcame a 1st and 15 to start, drove inside the 10, would have scored 3 in a regular season scenario.
And we get gashed by the TE for 40 yards in one play
I think safety play will be greatly improved, still think linebackers are going to cost us games. Hopefully the dline can stop run
Not sure why ATL wouldn’t just go for the first down lol … but it appears DPJ is leading the punt return role right now
Baker def looks leaner this year
Every time i see D’ernest he seems so fluid and explosive
Johnson could start for a lot of teams
Baker's ready. Get him outta there.
Excellent drive … now yank them!
Yeah this offense is ready, take a seat boys
Don’t think he got touched until he was in
Baker in mid-season form. Get all the starters out.
Hodge will be a tough cut if rumors are true.
So tired of plays that are as plain as the nose on your face being reviewed. I really hate the NFL.
Ok Baker take a bow and a seat
Good to see Schwartz get in that first series. Pass interference was called, but he could easily have blown by the corner if led just a bit more. Exciting.
Extra point being good is a good sign.
Wil JOK play tonight,or is his forehead injury gonna keep him out?
I hope since we have Jerome Boger tonight it means we wont see him as much in the regular season
Why do I question Stefanski
Josh Rosen is all over -the place lol
We really still struggle against run
Wonder if takk will get some reps
Josh Rosen is all over -the place lol
Thank God we didn't pick Rosen
Who is 58? Weaver … BLAHH
Felton looks like he will make this team
Keenum in red zone is horrible.
Yeah, Keenum isn’t ideal on the move down there
Good job by the DL on that series
Mcdowell >>>>>>>>>>billings
I am really beginning to like Felton
McDowell has shown his power this game
Yeah, thats the 3rd batted pass so far
I noticed on two of them the oline weren’t engaged with the guy who tipped. I don’t think not staying engaged is the correct technique
I like how Baker approaches interviews
Felton def a better receiver than back. Going to be interesting what they do with johnson
God help us if keenum has to play
Wonder if we will see Rosen
Elliot and mcdowell have been wrecking balls
I liked Elliott when we took him in the 3rd round I think he will grow into a very good DT ...
It seems like Elliott has gotten a bit stronger and stouter
It seems like Elliott has gotten a bit stronger and stouter
Definitely
Elliot looking like a run stuffer... and I'm not sure he will even make the team. These cuts are going to be brutal. Wish we could take a few of these bubble guys that won't make it past waivers and stash them on IR, or at least get something out of them.
Definitely. We will be cutting a handful of good players
Definitely. We will be cutting a handful of good players
There will be teams waiting for our cuts ...
Elliot isn’t going to be cut. Billings will be cut before him
I rather have Hodge than natson. Natson does nothing for me
I'm not a big fan of tiny return guys. JoJo looks like he's 4'5" and a buck twenty weight.
If we cut Johnson I could see him becoming ravens starting rb
I rather have Hodge than natson. Natson does nothing for me
absolutely that isn't even a question in my mind ...
I would not keep Natson over Hodge either
If we cut Johnson I could see him becoming ravens starting rb
I think Johnson stays JMO ...
Hudson looks the part of a bust. He’s really bad at both tackle positions. He looks like Erving did
If we cut Johnson I could see him becoming ravens starting rb
I think Johnson stays JMO ...
Me too, he’s better than Felton
Natson looks like he weighs 110
Yeah that was the play I was like damn dude is a beast
If we cut Johnson I could see him becoming ravens starting rb
I think Johnson stays JMO ...
Me too, he’s better than Felton
I can see both making the team ...
If we cut Johnson I could see him becoming ravens starting rb
I think Johnson stays JMO ...
Me too, he’s better than Felton
I can see both making the team ...
I see Felton taking natsons job more than a rb
Yeah this was bad clock management
We can't escape the doink!
Wow at least we see he can kick a long FG
I hope they find a way to keep this Davis kid. He has better upside than Hodge IMO and both are better than Natson.
I hope they find a way to keep this Davis kid. He has better upside than Hodge IMO and both are better than Natson.
Davis will be packing groceries in 2 weeks
I'm not ready to call Hudson a bust yet , but they sure have their work cut out for themselves .. He is slow out of his stance for starters.
j/c...
I can't see the Browns keeping Natson. He doesn't offer anything that Felton can't do. He's not an elite returner.
He's the kind of guy that has enough to have made the team in the Forgetful Years, not so much anymore.
Nothing about Malik McDowell obliterating the center is normal. This man is special.
https://twitter.com/karnsies817/status/1432153650856529921
McDowell looks like he is becoming a force on the inside of the dline.
Hudson certainly has a LOT of work to do
Hudson got a lot on his plate playing both tackle positions. He is a developmental player, lot of upside.
Been keying on McDowell. The man creates push even when doubled. Elliot's sack was more because McDowell collapsed the pocket. In time , I think he is going to be a star.
Baker looked crisp, and the Oline looks healthy. Ready for the real thing.
I also liked that Stephanski made the kicker try it from 56. They could have got closer but chose not to. He got a strong leg.
Felton is going to be a good player, and Johnson is either going to be our #3, or a starter somewhere else.
Time for 2nd half.
McDowell looks like he is becoming a force on the inside of the dline.
Along with Elliott
AJ Green being targeted here
green giving up yards at will
Our ball … Elliott has it I believe
McDowell looks like he is becoming a force on the inside of the dline.
Along with Elliott
ON CUE!
Elliott and McDowell are answering some questions on our DL ...
I never get tired of watching the highlights in the playoff win
our qbs besides baker in the redzone are scary bad.
McDowell looks like he is becoming a force on the inside of the dline.
It's crazy that he hasn't played a down of football since 2016 at MSU before now.
Keenum isn't bad between the 20's but man he scares me in the Red Zone
it seems like the DL is pretty well set
McLauphlin has put every kickoff right on the goal line. Hope that's by design, and that he has the ability to put it out of the endzone.
On every play I watched.
He beat his man or, at worse it was a tie.
His get off to power is really good.
Find of the year.
McLauphlin has put every kickoff right on the goal line. Hope that's by design, and that he has the ability to put it out of the endzone.
Yea noticed that also
our depth in the secondary is nonexistent
Good job D and nice play from Scales
Have we had any injuries? I saw one of our O linemen go down in the 2nd or 3rd quarter.
Have we had any injuries? I saw one of our linemen go down in the 2nd or 3rd quarter.
That was drew Forbes
Thanks slick. Was it serious?
Thanks slick. Was it serious?
No problem, no news on the severity of injury yet.
Did Hollywood dress tonight ?
Kelly looks like Leroy Kelly.
Did Hollywood dress tonight ?
I haven't seen him, that's for sure.
god awful pass there...wide open
Our screen game has been on point! Wow what a play by 62 in the blocking game
davis has had a nice preseason
our qbs besides baker in the redzone are scary bad.
With a quarter of the league starting mediocre QBs, back up QBs aren't going to set the world on fire in many games.
Hahahaha that play is just unbelievable
Hahahaha that play is just unbelievable
lol
Unfortunately I think kelly will be a victim of the numbers game. Just to much talent at RB. Johnson, who I like it probably wont even make the team. Dont be surprised to see the ravens grab him after losing dobbins
Mercifully 1 more Quarter of Pre-Season Football ...
Lauletta, could be a good backup for some team in the NFL. I think we are good with Case.
j/c...
Would not like this...
Unfortunately I think kelly will be a victim of the numbers game. Just to much talent at RB. Johnson, who I like it probably wont even make the team. Dont be surprised to see the ravens grab him after losing dobbins
They are gonna get Gurley or Bell
Hahahaha that play is just unbelievable
I give credit to Franks for hustling and more so for the OL that was down there to recover. Big guys usually have an excuse not to chase the ball that far.
lauletta is horrid.. I miss Gilbert
Mercifully 1 more Quarter of Pre-Season Football ...
Lol
How was there no holding call on that???
Like I said Mercifully Pre-Season Football is almost over ...
god hudson is bad.. he'll get someone killed if he has to play
Bradley has made some nice grabs
Better to be lucky than good.
Haha what in the world is AJ Green doing??
AJ green might be the dumbest player we have
lol I've never seen that!
Exactly
smh
Our backup secondary and LBs are quite bad
Malveaux has even impressed tonight
plays like that are why noone wants rosen very long
Love to hear Brees praise baker
davis has made catches this preseason i don't think anyone outside of landry or OBJ make
Mark way with a few good grabs now
Love to hear Brees praise baker
Wow Davis with ANOTHER great grab
Tap the same foot twice count?
What in the world was that extra point
I'd take davis over hodge and natson, gun to head I'd take him over higgins too..the dude makes plays and makes contested catches
We are going to have kicking problems
Wow, what a shank. He has barely squeezed other kicks in to. Not very inspiring.
We may be lookng to sign a kicker after cuts
I would be really surprised to see us roll into KC with McLaughlin
What in the world was that extra point
Shank city. Hosel rocket if you are a golfer.
Yes we do. I hope this kid gets some competition TOMORROW.
It’s pretty crazy that Josh Rosen is out there playing right now
WE CAN'T MISS EXTRA POINTS~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!
IT IS UNEXCUSEABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOOVER DAM!
Winners 19-10
Now they all count …
Love to hear Brees praise baker
Love to hear Brees praise baker
I'm yelling to that dummy Collins. That left toe just tapped ever so slightly between #34's legs as Collins is saying did the knee touch, arghhh the toe touches dummy!!!
totally different season...Kizer was playing a lot. Baker and entire starters played 2 series
curious, what was the record of our entire division this preseason.
IMO Malik McDowell may prove to be the find of the season.
He blew his man up on damn near every play.
When you watch the line and the snap. He was the fastest off the ball and his push was instant.
His bull rush is really good.
But what is really impressive is his pursuit along the line.
Clearly the most athletic guy on the interior.
Jc
Just wanted to say that Bakers arm looked great yesterday. They clearly was just out there doing stuff, but bakers mechanics looked amazing!
I tried to pay attention to the DTs last night. (Disclaimer: Me focusing on a position is not really saying too much beyond what any casual observer may see.)
Billings was handled on almost every snap...if not pushed backwards...he wasn't eating any blocks out there...more likely the opposite. I can't imagine him being thought-of as better than the other guys I saw last night.
Meanwhile, McDowell and Elliott were destroying the Falcon Oline all night. McDowell looked like an absolute beast and Elliott looked like a completely different player - physically and production wise - than last year.
Day has been solid all pre-season but he was a non-factot compared to McDowell and Elliott. I did see Day take some snaps at DE...I'd have liked to see McDowsell do the same...but I understand the path with him having been out of football so long.
I like Togiai's motor...but he needs to get that weight room power to translate to the line of scrimmage.
Marvin Wilson hustled and looked gassed..sometimes at the same time. I can see what the FO liked/likes...but he needs time to develop. He is a big guy...but so are McDowell and Elliot...both of whom look ridiculously more fit than the other DTs that played.
To me, these are the top guys...not in order:
Malik Jackson (I think we may need him to play some DE at times):
Elliott (Man...what an apparent leap from year 1);
McDowell (What is there to say after watching him last night? Maybe just that...Berry is a genius? I can see t his guy playing some DE after he acclimates to football again and at this level);
Then these two guys are kind of the same talent-wise:
Day (He's solid...dependable...knows Woods...lots to like in your 4th-ish best DT);
Togiai (Young, great-motor, strong-for-sure-in-the-weight-room...seems mold-able. His eventual floor just might be Day-like);
These guys aren't as good as the guys above:
Marvin Wilson (Needs more time and better fitness. No brainer for the PS if he gets that far without being poached. Too bad we couldn't stash him on the "safe" IR);
Billings (What a huge disappointment. A guy that big and with that many years in the NFL should not get pushed around like a LB when engaging with an OL. I don't get it. I don't see how you keep him over any of the guys on this list.)

Just wanted to say that Bakers arm looked great yesterday. They clearly was just out there doing stuff, but bakers mechanics looked amazing!
Baker has top-5 NFL arm talent...always has IMO. The key for him to stay that way has always been his mechanics. An early, vocal-critic of his on this board posted almost-incessantly-yet-correctly that his mechanics needed to improve.
The scuttle-butt that I read "suggested" that QB coach Zampese was quite good for Baker in his rookie year. Game prep and mechanics as the priority.
https://apnews.com/article/bac3b6944d7c47aaac3603b4e7179da0https://www.wkyc.com/article/sports/nfl/...a9-cf9b0353ec8fThen we had the Freddie Kitchens frat-house...Zampese wasn't retained and house-mother Ryan Lindley was promoted to QB coach. Coincidentally, Baker's development lost an entire year...other than lessons-learned about off-season work.
My guess is that Zampese road Baker's butt to the point Baker didn't like it anymore...then the frat house crap...now back to more of what Zampese saw...just advanced by AVP and KS. No disrespect to AVP and/or KS. JMO.
What is with the shinny gloves? It seemed all Flacons were wearing them. I never really notice but the only ones that dont seem to be wearing some type of gloves are the QB's. I never noticed the shinny gloves until yesterday
One thing that is crystal clear from this years training camp.
Baker is in complete control. He is the leader.
His poise, body language, remarks in dealing with the press, the overall "Baker Vibe" is of a man in charge and comfortable being in charge.
My guess is that Zampese road Baker's butt to the point Baker didn't like it anymore...then the frat house crap...now back to more of what Zampese saw...just advanced by AVP and KS. No disrespect to AVP and/or KS. JMO.
Agreed with all of it except this part - Baker has never given me any indication that he wasn't 100% willing and able to embrace working hard and doing whatever is necessary to improve. I think the year 2 influences - as you said - really failed him. He still owns his performances and everything that goes along with that year - but there were significant contributing influences.
Elliott had nowhere to go but up after his Rookie season ..lol
He didn't do much in the Jak game .. He showed up after McDowell hit the field in the Giants game.. Looking much better , but I believe that has as much to do with his ( should be very good friend ) McDowell .. Billings is a no show at this point.

Yeah...I wish I had worded that better. Maybe more like a little tough Love perhaps. I have no thoughts that Baker didn't take to coaching at any level or by any coach.
There was some unfounded speculation/accusation long ago that Baker didn't like Zampese...but such never had any legs other than by a guy on this board.
I did read speculation outside this board that Freddie was not a fan of Zampese.
So glad that those speculative days are a distant memory.

I too was worried about Elliot after last year...it was quite concerning that maybe they missed
that badly on a guy. Today, I think - as usual with this FO - they got that one right too.
Ony issue I saw with Baker last night was a couple of batted down passes. Not sure if that was rust or what but their D was just lazily putting hands up and hit TWO!
jc
I had a great time at the Game yesterday. I went with my gf who is a diehard Browns fan. We were in the vip field level club. It has all inclusive drinks and buffet. Very upscale.
Props to the Stadium/Falcons. They planned a menu that had some items inspired by NE Ohio culture. Pierogis and corned beef sandwiches. And a ton of other stuff as well.
We went on the field patio and watched them warm up.
Had lots of (free) drinks. Our seats were row 8 on 45 yard line.
We had an awesome time.
One of the coolest things though.... After the game, when we were walking to the train station... There was a little old lady and little old man couple. He was wearing an Otto Graham jersesy. It was awesome.
Also, I have to say that at least 40% 0f the crowd were Browns fans. We took over the Stadium lol.
Good times.
Sounds like you had a great time! Stadium looks amazing, and nothing like the VIP treatment. Glad you got to see the Browns, hopefully you can make it up north for a game at home!
Thank you! Hopefully I can get up to the CLE this season! I have a really good feeling about our team.
Might need to revisit this in EE. Would like more deets on the GF and the free drink scam.
Good pics BTW but can't help but notice they are all "backside" shots, didn't any of them look your way OR was it their backside pics you wanted as keepsakes? Inquiring minds...
Funny man. She is my friend who is female. Not my lover.
I was just collecting pictures of players. Like you collect football cards.
I took other pictures but they are crappy quality.
Its the Truist Club.

Didn't really expect answers. Nobody gets me today. smh
Lol I look for any excuse to blabber on about my gameday experiences.
Lol I look for any excuse to blabber on about my gameday experiences.
Oh really?
Tell me more.
I don't have much more to say. Other than whenever the Browns get a new Stadium that they should model their fan experience off of Mercedes Benz Stadium. They are doing it right in the ATL.
I love MBS, its so much nicer than that monstrosity in dallas. Very high tech and great visibility

getting rid of Zampese and hiring that horrid broom pusher/baker buddy was the worst move of freddy's tenure. Thats why baker regressed more than anything. Lindley has no business coaching anyone at QB
I don't have much more to say. Other than whenever the Browns get a new Stadium that they should model their fan experience off of Mercedes Benz Stadium. They are doing it right in the ATL.
I agree. Hopefully the city does that before the team moves again.
Okie dokie. I was just trying to give you an excuse.
and Freddie had no business coaching the Browns...
and Freddie had no business coaching the Browns...
Indeed, but I think that mistake could have been mitigated if Freddie would have kept the majority of the offensive staff together and gave up playcalling
