I don't think KC's Offensive Line understands exactly what is coming their way Sunday.
Browns 31
KC 20
In a BEATDOWN!!!
Whatcha Got?
I think it’s gonna be the toughest game of the year (obviously). I hate having to play Reid with so much preparation time and when they’re all healthy. Not to mention the home crowd in a raucous stadium after having no fans last year lol.
I think it’ll be something like KC 33 CLE 20
I don't think KC's Offensive Line understands exactly what is coming their way Sunday.
Imagine being a rookie and heading into that week knowing that you're starting your career against Myles & Clowney.
I hope we stack both of them on their right side all day. Let all three rookies deal with Myles & Clowney. Put Takk at RDE and a Malik in the last spot.
I don't think our defense is there yet and looks like Clowney will miss the game. I think it will be close but the chiefs offense is going to be too much.
KC-35
Browns-28
Hunt ties the game late with a breakaway TD after a slow methodical drive. We immediately look at the clock in fear... 1:15 left for Mahomes...
Chiefs 34
Browns 31
Like others have said, our defense isn't there yet, and their defense is improved from last season, just as our offense is. That's a wash, so I'm basically giving us our playoff score + the egregious non-call on Higgins' TD.
Chiefs 38
Browns 24
I invoke a phrase, and callback a prediction, that we've heard the past couple of seasons:
"We are going to shock the world."
Browns Win a close one convincingly; we don't back into it, we take it.
I have no crystal ball.
I don't know what will happen.
However, I think you are right about where is should be decided.
Reid played starters in pre-season. They made a decision that they would not have another game like the Super Bowl.
They bit the bullet and remade a new offensive line.
OL units take time time to gel. DL is easier to gel.
So, how their OL handles our DL will be a key in this game.
"OL takes longer" really depends on the scheme, coaches, and personnel.
We changed scheme last year and in the Year of the Rona with no real practices and such, we came out firing on all cylinders with an OLine that was in-sync in a zone scheme. That's all on coaching and personnel, because ZBS is harder to gel than power where you just have an assignment and man-up and beat whomever that guy is; you don't have to be in 100% sync with the guy next to you except when it comes to flawlessly passing off to another guy or giving help, you mostly just have to win your individual battle.
The Chiefs don't run zone, so their guys get to just line up and try to win their assignments. If their new guys are smart players, they could be completely ready to play, even if they are maybe still thinking too much.
If I'm a player preparing to face them, I treat them as if they're a four year vet that will be ready to roll on the first snap and I let them prove that wrong. Use the first series to test them and find out just where they stand.
38-35 Browns. Baker throws a TD to Njoku with 18 secs left on the clock.
We lost to the Ravens 38-6 in the first game.
They are starting 3 rookie linemen. Handling, loops, stunts and blitzers is no easy assignment for rookies.
We have a new DL but we have many options on how we want to attack. If we start Jackson and Billings our line is all veterans. McDowell and Elliott will get rotated in.
I don't think their OL will have an easy day against us.
This will be a big test for their OL.
We all know that they have a new and inexperienced OL, but so does Reid. That cat knows what he's doing, and has the QB to help mitigate this as much as anyone can.
That's the part that concerns me the most. I think Reid knows where his weaknesses are more than anyone else does and will play call to best cover up those weaknesses.
I expect him to dial up a lot of screens, quick pass plays over the middle and quick comeback routes on the edge that can be executed in two seconds or less. We too have a smart coach and a lot of talent. So I expect a crazy battle back and forth in this game.
So close in fact I think the deciding factor will be the crowd and the home field advantage.
Browns 35 Chiefs 38
My prediction is that the refs will, once again, determine the outcome of this game rather than the players.
It's the opener, and they will be enforcing their will with nonsense calls. I predict most of these calls will be on the Browns' defense.
Hate to be a downer. Hope I'm wrong.
I'm hoping with all the love we're getting these days, that those days might be behind us.
First game and so want us to win, so think we can win, but totally understand we are playing the best team in football (last three years) and it's the dreaded opener that we always seem to lose...
Browns 38
Chiefs 37
I've heard a Cleveland analyst say the Browns hope to hold Travis Kelce to 80 yards or less on the day.
And then a Kansas City analyst say the Browns can't stop Kelcey he'll have probably 75 yards in the first half alone.
So!
Browns 31
Chiefs 13
Browns control the line of scrimmage and the Chiefs have no answers to counter it with. The improved team speed on the backend and the pressure up front proves to much for the Chiefs and PM.
Browns Fans Dance, Dance, Dance

Which Refs are calling the game?
And without knowing I'm calling 37 - 29 Browns
Sorry, puttin this in the middle of this thread as a reminder.....
DT'ers PICKEMS and SURVIVOR yearly challenges are good to go.
Just don't wanna see anyone get shut out of week 1 picks.
A prediction? The Browns annihilate the hapless Kansas City Chiefs.
I think the Browns Offensive Line is going to have to show up, especially Tretter.
Do we know if Tretter is able to play?

I hadn't seen this ^ post.
But I was thinking.
Are we going to see a fairly officiated game tomorrow?
Yes? No? or Heck No?
I'm predicting Heck No.
Don't forget the crack back block calls against a good block by the offense.
And not penalizing retaliation against linebacker X for the neck wrenching tackle of Mahomes from last year.
I predict if Higgins does his Red Carpet walk touchdown celebration, the refs will immediately Flag it and claim it was taunting.
Could be the first half score, But can they hold on in the 2nd half?
It will be interesting to see how much our defense has improved.
Not good a predicting scores but KC will probably win since they are playing at home. If this game was in Cleveland different story. I will say KC 28 Browns 24.
I wonder how much these guys spend on having people produce hype videos for them, and do they even manage their own social media accounts, or are they posting these things themselves?
No doubt they have their own guys do it and they probably just OK it. I’m personally not a fan of them, but understand why they do it
I don't like playing in KC. I remember Bernie getting knocked out for about half the season when playing in KC.
That was an opener as well.
That hit messed up his arm, he was never the same.
I don't remember that game, so I just looked it up. A couple things that stick out...
1. We won 6-3. Can you imagine that in the modern NFL? Even in that Texans horrid weather game last year, it was 10-7?
2. That was a crazy season. Kosar--> Danielson-->Pagel-->Strock-->Kosar-->Strock-->Pagel.
