I'm guessing after Week 4, at the soonest.

I base that on absolutely nothing but a random guess & feeling.
Home against the Cards
Another good opportunity for Anthony Schwartz.

Looking forward to seeing more from him.
We’ll sit him out until the Steelers game. That’s after a long week after a TNF game.

Hopefully OBJ's replacement.

Fine with me. Don't play him until he is ready regardless of all the criticism he is getting for not playing.
Agreed. Don't play him until he's ready. More reps for AS whom I feel can be very good for us.
The word on the street is he’ll be back week three.
He'll be ready after the trade deadline.
Beckham was out the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL in week 7 (Oct. 25th) vs. the Bengals. So October 25th of this year would be close to 365 days. It used to be that nobody played before 1 year.
j/c:

Seems a little odd to me that he was a last minute inactive call after taking the field early Sunday morning and is now essentially an instant scratch.
I think it was gamesmanship for KC. He was never gonna play, but they had to prep for him (and not Schwartz).

Now that the league knows OBJ isn’t 100%, might as well say he’s not playing early in the week so the fans don’t get emotional and OBJ doesn’t get any backlash

Good point, and it could very well be the case.

However, OBJ was practicing hard throughout the week leading up to the game. Tons of video evidence and beat writer opinion showing OBJ was out there at full speed, which is why such a shock by all to see the inactive tag.
I agree. The jig is up.
not mad about this. i dont want OBJ on the field until he's 100% healthy. we have more than enough firepower to handle the texans.

i still believe in OBJ on this team. no need to rush him back.
It's where I am 100%. Actually really excited to see OBJ on this team and what we can do with him ... I believe he will have some explosive / great games very soon.
I agree w/you guys. I actually think a formation with OBJ, Schwartz, Hooper, Njoku, and Chubb/Hunt could be deadly

Seeing Schwartz get more reps can't really be a bad thing at this point in the season. Speaking of season- I'm OK with OBJ being superfresh in the second half of the season, when teams have a little wear&tear on them.

Like others have already said, we have enough tools and weapons to play >.500 ball for most of the first half of this season. I think about 2020 CLE without OBJ, and I even like their chances with this season's line-up. This year's Browns O is potentially better than they were.

I'm anxious to see this team with OBJ on the field, but I'm OK with waiting.
It's one of the perks that come from rooting for a team that's (finally, after all these years-) absolutely stacked with resources.

Forgive me if I'm not wringing my hands about 13 just yet... I'm kinda allowing myself to enjoy the feeling of rooting for a good NFL team right now. I can still remember when our stud C free-agent pickup (LeCharles Bentley) went down on the first play of 11 v.11 in training camp... in a season that saw CLE go 4-12.

Depth is a wonderful thing.

IMO depth is often overlooked.

Name recognition is where the media focuses.

Just looking around the league after training camp and the first game. Damn there already a bunch of injuries. The kind of injuries where they are gone for the season. There are more with guys missing games.

Plenty of players will play and they are hardly known except within the team.

53 guys on a roster plus 16 on a practice squad.

If you don't have guys who can step in and be adequate.

Very hard to win throughout the season.
Our next opponents are as follows:

Texans
Bears
Vikings
Chargers
Cardinals
Broncos

If we only come out of that stretch at .500, there might be a meltdown going on 'round here. I'm thinking we should only drop a game or 2 (tops).

We should and I expect we will win every single one of these games. We are in a soft stretch of games although the Cards might be tough there isn't one of those teams I expect to be seriously challenged by.

When the smoke clears this offense and defense should be rolling.

Texans - should win 100%
Bears - should win 100%
Vikings - should win 66%
Chargers - 50/50 game
Cardinals - should win 66%
Broncos - should win 75%
I don't know enough about these other teams to really put down percentages, but this is sorta what I was getting at. The Chargers could be the real deal or fool's gold. The Vikings might not be as bad as they were vs Bengals, etc. Plus there are other variables (namely injuries).
It's very difficult and somewhat foolhardy to attempt to draw conclusions about most teams based on the first week of the season.
How does he go from a game time decision last week to being completely out the next?

It was a ‘game time’ decision as a bit of gamesmanship keeping KC in the dark on week one. Nothing more. They knew he wouldn’t play but didn’t need KC knowing too.
There is a complete meltdown here after every loss.

Why not let Houston spend part of their week preparing for Beckham too? Imo, he should be a game day decision every week until he plays.
