First time this year I will have seen Cinci or Jax ... looking forward to see Burrows. Hope he stays upright and has time. I know some posters at one time were claiming the Browns had (one of) the best WR core in the NFL - I think Cinci's WR's are 100% legit and love all 3 of their top 3 of Higgins, Boyd and Chase.
Cmon Jags we need a miracle
Can't see that happening !! LOL. I think Burrows is very special. As accurate as Baker.
Bengals run defense is still bad.
Jacksonville is making the Bengals look bad so far. 14-0 Jags.
Jags looked good there … Bengals need to get mixon going
21-21 barn burner of a game...6:30 left in the game.
Urban Meyer wants to quit so bad.
YES I'm saying NFL Officials!!!
are using!!
incorrect calls to ensure!
nationally televised, night games
ARE NOT
OUT OF REACH
IN THE FIRST HALF!
Yes I'm saying that!
Burrow and the boys turned it on in the 2nd half. Jags went into a shell.
For all the talk of the bad Bengals OL, it didnt affect them much the 2nd half
Bengals blasted! If the Bengals have success, and Pittsburgh actually siginificanly sucks!
These blasted crap team with crap run defense, is going to knock the Browns right out of the playoffs, even if the Browns sweep the Bengals!
The system is broken! the whole nfl is a (marianas trench?)
I'm thinking of things I'm "allowed" to say.
The Browns defense potentially is MUCH WORse than last year, and that would equal no playoffs.
Oh well.
Jags are a complete disaster. Their losing streak is longer than our recent one I believe.
I'm thinking of things I'm "allowed" to say.
Being "allowed" to say something doesn't mean you "should" say it.
And they probably played their best half of the streak last night
Urban Meyer isn't cut out for NFL, I'd be really surprised he lasts this year
Doug Marrone won 12 games over his final 3 seasons in Jacksonville. He lasted out his final season when the team won 1 game. I think Khan knows how bad the team was/is, and that it takes time to get the train back on the tracks.
I do wonder why he went into the NFL. I suppose $$$ is always a good answer.
That being said, his offensive philosophy is very unique to college and his biggest strength was always recruiting - again a college-unique aspect. I never thought he was cut for the NFL.
It could be that it's going to take time to turn things around down there, but I just don't see it with him. Blowing that 14-0 lead (should have been 21-0) was just a back-breaker.
"Should have been 21-0" was really "should have been 17-0" in my book. I'm all about risk / reward analytics and the new culture in the NFL, but that was a no-brainer to me.
Going into the locker room up three scores was the perfect way to end a great half of football... on the road, a team that desperately needs a win. Maybe it's just me, but I was screaming at the TV.
Disagree, FATE. If the ball is at the 2, ok. But INSIDE the 1? With a 6'-6" QB, that should've been a sneak. Don't give any ground to gain ground. If the Bengals stop you from falling forward for a foot, so be it.
That's fine, I'm sure most will disagree. The old "well if you can't gain a yard" talk is always the go to, and I get it. Most times I agree.
My reasons are beyond Xs and Os, it's more about the mentality of a team that needs to learn and believe they can win. A FG there feeds the mathematics part of my argument as well as the team mentality. We went out and played a great half and have a three score lead vs the creeping doubt after being stopped... and the momentum pendulum tipping in the other direction going into the half.
To each his own.

I don’t think anyone is thinking Khan will fire Urban Meyer. I think Meyer will quit.
Agree with you, Fate.
Take the points, go up 3 scores on the road at the half. Keep momentum. No brainer. Team lost 18 games in a row or something. Take the points...
I'd have been fine with a FG as well. To me, either go for the field goal, or go right from under center. Those are the only two options. To go with your QB from a shotgun is just plain dumb.

Urban is coaching the Jags like he is still at The Ohio State. Like he has more talent than almost anybody they are playing. Going for the TD on 4th at the half would have been great if they converted and scored but they didn't and that completed changed the game. Now the Bengals are inspired and the Jags are thinking same old same old. tOSU could have dealt with that but Jags can't.
You kick the Fg you pile on and go into the locker room on a positive note while the Bengals are the ones thinking same old same old.
I think Khan knows how bad the team was/is, and that it takes time to get the train back on the tracks.
Do I have sympathy for the Jaguars (2016) and(2017,
2015, 2011, 2014, their fans for not getting a 2006!!!
win, (0-4) with a new coach.
... TL- is having flashbacks to just weeks before the start of the 2018 year when he contemplated a 1-31 coach was returning as coach of his favorite team, and has currently lost his senses so massively.
I'll have to go throw a bucket of ice water in his face, *metal part first of course*, to attempt to bring him back on to the insanity scale.
Urban Meyer wants to quit so bad.
I don't think that is a defendable claim. Even if it were written all over his face or in his body language,
which frankly it wasn't, because,
case in point? He did the hands up touchdown gesture when cincinnati missed it's original field goal on the early drives of the first quarter, suggesting he hasn't given up.
because it's the other team and a miss which are pretty insignificant.
Remember when he quit his two preseason jobs?
Same here. The difference between 21-0 or 17-0 isn’t a huge deal. Three scores is big
Remember when he quit his two preseason jobs?
Previous. Previous. Not preseason. Previous.
I hate autocorrect.
Now I see what you meant. I don't remember entirely when Urban Meyer quit, I'm guessing Florida and then Ohio State, but did he quit any of them midseason. I'll check.
Urban is such a wild card off the field (see the latest twitter stuff, even though who knows if that was recent)
Russell Wilson just made one of the most amazing plays I've ever seen.
I don't understand how Kyler Murray is able to play QB.
My goodness is Tony Romo awful.
Watching PIT and GB. I no longer know what "tripping" means.

Yeah, his wife probably won't like this one. Enjoying that 0-4 though!

If the Steelers players can't keep themselves relevant with their play, the refs will do their best to help.
Ravens have so many injuries but just keep on winning and performing pretty amazingly. The team runs through Lamar.
Arizona really taking it to the Rams. Rams D is very good. We need to get it right on O or these next 2 games could get ugly; Chargers and Cardinals.
Pittsburgh on the verge of 1-3
Pittsburgh on the verge of 1-3
With Roethlisberger fully cooked.

Roethlisberger is a well done steak that is then put in the toaster.
And I don't feel sorry for him and his team at all.
As long as they eek out 6+ wins and don’t gain access to the top college QB draft crop, I’m fine with Ben being trash.
j/c...
This bettor feeling good at the moment...
Aaron Rodgers isn't going to play behind that garbage OL in Pittsburgh. He'll retire a Packer.
On a side note, Pierre Desir has had a remarkably long and lucrative career for being a 4th round draft pick out of tiny Division II Lindenwood University.
Such an ugly game … just what Bill B wanted

Winner!
It looks like we caught the Bears the right week.
Chargers/Raiders tonight. I think it’ll be a good game. Two good offenses

Indeed. I like it when guys like that make it. Buster Skrine out of Chattanooga is another.

Hoping for a very physical game. Would love to have the Chargers coming in a little beat up and sore.
If the trend with the Steelers continues and they go something like 2-7.
The Steelers will have to make a decision.
IMO they do not have a quarterback of the future on the team. However, they should play Rudolph and or Haskins. Give them a chance.
Worst case they fail miserably and they are high enough in the draft to draft a qb.
The Bengals are improving. The Ravens have found ways to win even with all their injured players.
The Steelers will be bottom feeders for the forseeable future.

especially their front 7

Nah, we're just not the Lions.
My guy is a Chargers fan, so I'll be rooting for them tonight. I would like a Browns v Chargers in the AFC Championship.
Does he cease being "your guy" if the Chargers win that AFC Championship game?
Herbert with a laser on 3rd and goal. Sigh.
Hunter Renfrow just made one of the best plays I've ever seen.
Chargers D is flying around here right now
They look good. Going to be a huge challenge next week.
Herbert with a laser on 3rd and goal. Sigh.
Followed by as big a miss as some of Bakers on a wide open Mike Williams who woulda walked in for the TD ... A throw no QB should miss according to you .... Right?
Another laser on 3rd and goal. Touchdown.
Chargers are straight dominant. When I watch a guy like Herbert, I can’t help but feel jealous that they drafted him. Baker is our guy, but isnt nearly THAT sort of player
What's discouraging to me is Herbert picked up right where he left off after his rookie year. Baker never did that. We had to experience the sophomore slump. So many ups and downs. Would be nice to just be good consistently.
The grass is always greener.
I strongly prefer our team and QB.
That’s true. Baker is all over the map we never know what to expect.
Austin Ekeler is about 3 feet tall. He's so low to the ground and that's why nobody can tackle him.
He’s been more quiet in the second half when the Raiders dialed up the pressure here and there. He can really sling it though and he can make some great reads. Really sees the field.
Here’s hoping we can keep him from feeling too comfortable back there.
Browns need to beat Both! these teams, the Chargers and the Raiders this year. In order to be assured a playoff berth.
Unless purple team has mass unconsciousness and retirements mid year.
Chargers ripping off wins against the Chiefs and Raiders. They’re going to be a handful. Baker will have to be “on” for us to win that game.
Agreed. We're going to have our hands full next Sunday. We need to beat them.
Agreed. We're going to have our hands full next Sunday. We need to beat them.
We aren't at the point in the season where we "need" to beat anybody.
Any way you cut it we are probably going to lose at least 4-5 games. Not being a division game, it doesn't really matter in the long haul unless when you say need to are factoring in home seed or something like that.
Let's put it this way; it would be in our best interests to beat them. The Chargers figure to be in the playoff mix come January.
we don't "need" it until we do.
Everything is just a whole lot simpler if we take care of things as early as possible. If this offense gets going, we should be challenging Buffalo for the #1 Seed.
True but a win now, especially against a conference foe, is just as important as a win in December.
Agreed, and a great point.
If there is a game we don't need, it would be any against the NFC where it isn't a common opponent. e.g. the Cardinals.
Even the extra game added in is a conference game, so it matters more.
Agreed. We're going to have our hands full next Sunday. We need to beat them.
I kind of think the Bolts are going to have their hands full trying to fend off the Browns defense.
I just saw something that might shock a few folks.
The Browns defense thru 4 games has given up a grand total of 266 total yards on the ground.
This is the BEST ever 4 game start for the Browns. Think about all the truly great Browns teams and this is the BEST EVER.
The Bolts better tighten up their chin straps the Browns are coming to town...............
I'm excited to see our D with some mo' go against Herbert. I didn't have a real high opinion of Cousins (I'm not saying I saw that defensive performance coming or anything like that), but Herbert has picked up where he left off last year. So going against a guy like that should be good proof (IMO) that the Vikings games wasn't an aberration and the Bears game wasn't just a gift to the defense's overall statline. I'll be brushing up on the Chargers throughout the week to see what I can see.
I'm excited for the Browns to make a statement vs a team that's getting a LOT of love.
The Vikings had scored 24 points against the Bengals, 33 points against the Cardinals and 30 points against the Seahawks in their first three games.
He had 88 completions on 119 attempts for a 74% completion rate for 918 yards in his first three games. With 8 td's. and 0 int's.
No matter your opinion of Cousins he had been productive and put points on the board.
He's definitely the real deal. I saw him stand in and fire off some passes into tight windows on hitches, flies, and back-shoulders. He's a very talented dude.
That being said, toward the middle of the game and in the 3rd quarter, the Raiders mixed up their coverage and pass rush and he hit a lull, IIRC.
He can really deliver the ball in the face of pressure as long as he can set his feet. We can't let him get comfortable in one spot and sling it consistently. Otherwise, we will have our hands full.
I imagine they will be fairly aggressive at both getting the ball out quick, but also in the 10-15 yard range. I don't think they will want to play ball control because they will want to put pressure on our O immediately. If they give ground early, their defense is not built to withstand our running game.
I do think that they will sell out against the run because they are weak against it, and they know that have to overcompensate to fend off our greatest strength. My guess is it will be one of those "stop the run on the way to the QB" type schemes. That's why I think Baker needs to bring his A game.
Agreed.
We hear all about how the Browns will have their hands full, and rightfully so.
However, the chargers will also, especially on offense.
Your right Arch. As long as we bring our A game. If we can do that we can beat anyone. Right Baker?
