Los Angeles Chargers' Joey Bosa, Jerry Tillery placed in NFL's COVID-19 protocol
7:20 PM ET
ESPN News Services

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Chargers might be missing a pair of important defensive players going into Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after linemen Joey Bosa and Jerry Tillery entered the league's reserve/COVID-19 protocol on Tuesday.

Bosa is tied for the league lead with three strip-sacks and has 5.5 sacks this season. He has a sack in two straight games and three of the past four.

Tilley has started eight games and is third on the team with eight quarterback hits. He also has 2.5 sacks.

It wasn't immediately clear whether either player is vaccinated or if either tested positive.

If a player is vaccinated and tested positive, he needs two negative tests 24 hours apart as long as he's asymptomatic for 48 hours in order to play.

If unvaccinated and positive, the player is out a minimum of 10 days and then can return if asymptomatic. If the player tests positive and is deemed a close contact, the players must miss at least five days and can return with a negative test after the five days expire.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Chargers should still win this one.

Steelers have their own issues as well:

Roethlisberger - Covid
Fiztpatrick - Covid
Watt - Hip/Knee
Haden - Sprained foot and may not play
Claypool is still banged up
Trai Turner has a bum ankle

Here's hoping all the teams on the right hand side win. Rooting for the home teams!

I cant see Baltimore losing coming off a mini bye and a loss

Other game, Thursday night football. Patriots at the Falcons.

Watch here how the New england players do not draw any penalty by celebrating a touchdown.
A touchdown is a play in the game, the play should last all the way until the offense goes back to the bench.

By not even celebrating a touchdown, there is no chance for the referees to throw a flag for taunting, it removes from the equation the opportunity for the referees to screw a team with a needless taunting penalty flag.

If you want to celebrate, celebrate tomorrow afternoon. Celebrate during the offseason.

Hey Joe Woods - the Atlanta Falcons are doing this super cool thing called The Blitz and guess what? The ROOKIE QB is getting sacked. Gee...who knew? Not you. OBVIOUSLY. Dumbass.

Joe Buck would almost be tolerable for a minute if that selfish *' Troy Aikman would disappear.

He doesn't like a tie? ( I hope he falls in a ditch and gets his suit all muddy.) ( Who cares what his personal preference is on the rules of the game that are well established, when he should be announcing a game he doesn't care about, because from his shows, you can tell he doesn't care about any of the games he announces, and comes across snobbish, above it all, and a self centered *'.

Thank God for Chirs Collinsworth, I tell you what
if some of those guys who do pre-game shows on Sunday's at noon, ever got a chance to announce games on Thursday and Monday and Sunday nights

I bet they'd show a lot more love for the game!!
It's got to be the television producers fault(s). And whatever execs. hire these terrible choices.

I bet ya Hue Jackson would make a better TV announcer than Troy Aikman.
Wouldn't it be great,
if they would rotate those seats for something like Thursday Night Football, and not from the group that exists now, but a new face every week, maybe a 3rd man in the Booth.
Next week, it could be (insert name) (One week Mihael Strahan, one week Steve Mariucci, one week someone else.)

I blame the political correct bull ~ in this country, it's a drain on many things every single day.

The Patriots are getting better and better on both sides of the ball. Once they get a good WR and Mac Jones gains experience they’ll be a team to beat
Posted By: Hammer Re: Other Games - 11/19/21 03:23 PM
Newsflash - they are already there.
Posted By: Homewood Dog Re: Other Games - 11/19/21 04:10 PM
Agreed. The Pats are what we were suppose to be and we are what they were suppose to be this season. They're really crowing about how good they are on local sports radio and they should be. At this point I'm very envious of their fans. The Pats fans are now what we Browns fans were suppose to be!!

Bears giving this one away.

Is there a luckier team than the Ravens. Geez.
Posted By: Steubenvillian Re: Other Games - 11/21/21 10:33 PM
IMO, the only way we win the division, is sweep Baltimore. I believe that is our only playoff hope. I don't see it happening, but last year, after the bye, Stephanski and company made some significant changes, that led to a good finish. I hope it happens again.

Baltimore is living a charmed season

The Bengals kicker McPherson will be getting drug tested for kicking 3 FG's of over 50yds , Sure wish they would drug tests the Refs !

Good teams find a way to win, marginal teams like the browns need almost everything to go right . Baltimore and Pitt prove this every week
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Other Games - 11/22/21 04:22 AM
Justin Herbert completely choking this game away against the Steelers.

Oh look Joe schobert making a game changing play

That’s how a DE makes a play that really impacts a game when his team needs it
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Other Games - 11/22/21 04:37 AM
If the Steelers are going to call timeout, the Chargers should just go ahead and try to score.

That's how a defensive coordinator moves him inside and runs a bit of a stunt and gets a mismatch and confuses the OL, rather than just lining him up in the same spot every play so he can easily be chipped

Yeah it’s really what’s missing. He gets sacks but they never seem to really make a difference. I wonder how many of his sacks come on 1st or 2nd down and our defense almost always gives up the 3rd down negating the impact of the sack

He almost never plays in his gap. He just goes for sacks

The Steelers appear to be the worst in the division.

The first sack was bosa inside and stunted allowing 52 to get the sack, but the second one bosa just destroyed his guy on outside and made the play

Herbert looks the part.
Posted By: WooferDawg Re: Other Games - 11/22/21 04:49 AM
The blocked punt and ball off the helmet gave Pittsburgh life.

I am glad that the Steelers did not have a 4th quarter drive left in them.

I thought the Chargers scored too soon near the end of the game.

Bosa was on the inside for both sacks. The first one, the edge guy crashed in and Bosa looped around behind him and the OG failed to pick up the guy looping around. The second one Bosa was on the inside and exploded toward the outside and the edge guy looped around behind him and Bosa was just too quick for the OG.

On both sacks Joe Haeg was playing LG for the Steelers, he's listed as a backup OT on the depth chart. The starting OG went out last week. Good recognition by the Chargers DC to exploit that...

So we feel like we have adequately done enough to run Baker out of town so we are going to start nitpicking and turn on Myles Garrett now.. ok, cool.

LTW cursed every Cavs player and predicted a loss in every playoff game and series all the way to the championship in 2016. It's how he rolls.

Did anyone see the Zona game? Who the hell is this Colt McCoy kid and where did he come from!?!

35 of 44, 79.6% completions, 328 passing yards and 2td's!

Are we being honest or do we have our brown and orage colored glasses on?

Watch his last 3 games (in reverse order) and watch how he freelances/doesn't contain/jogs downfield.

Can we live with it? sure. we have for the last 2 years.
Teams know he does it and the Browns know he does it too.

Uh oh - will Freddie get promoted to OC, then HC in the offseason.

Since I have no way of knowing for sure my guess is they'll hire someone from the outside who will hire their own staff and Freddie will be out of a job in New York.
