I sure don't feel a win. We may have won our last game of the season already.

During the bye Week? poke

I predict, Brittney Spears does NOT get charged with having run a ponzi scheme the last 12 years.

I'm looking forward to this team having 1 "quiet" week. No drama, no sniping via media (social or otherwise).

I'm going full homer and predict Berry does a "Wyatt Teller round 2" or swings a trade for a competent backup tackle.

We're past the trade deadline.

I think it would be a one score game with the Browns with a chance to win it on their last drive on offense, if they don't leave too much time on the clock.
Should have went for it on 4th and 1 in the early 3rd on your own 28 yard line? (Oh that was OSU vs. Mich.)

Who are they playing? (the winners.) NO! not this year! the Browns are 6-6, not 0 and 12.
If they were playing the Colts this week...

I think it would come down to a one score game with the Browns a chance to win it on their last drive on offense.

It's the Bye Week! Bye Bye.

get healthy and learn how to execute on offense better...

As long as stefanski refuses to give up playcalling and Joe woods keeps running his 3 saftey two linebackers prevent defense we will be lucky to win two more games.

I have a really bad feeling the Browns will be 6-11 at the end of the season.

Yeah, our D has given up more than 16 pints once in the past 6 weeks. They suck.
Posted By: CapCity Dawg Re: Predictions? - 12/04/21 09:24 PM
The defense has certainly played well enough for us to be 3-0 in the division.
Posted By: waterdawg Re: Predictions? - 12/04/21 09:26 PM
41 to Cinn and 45 to New England , lets be fair here .. Arizonan ..
Posted By: Xanthros Re: Predictions? - 12/04/21 10:03 PM
I honestly like many others thought this team was different and was going to finally prove they can continue to build upon their previous successes. Then the wheels came off when Baker threw that INT week two and foolishly threw himself at a player destroying his left shoulder. Unfortunately now he is being judged on his play whether fairly or not while playing with limitations. This is so Browns football that it honestly has me wondering if I will die never seeing them be considered a legit contender and actually living up to it. I don’t pin it solely on him nor do I give him a pass because he’s hurt. I feel like the team let him down as much as he’s let the team down. For example there is zero reason why Case was not playing against Baltimore with as many injuries as Baker had. What was the point of paying a backup QB that kind of money if you refuse to use him at all costs to win games. That is the TEAM goal. Win games. No matter who is s behind center, or even the center himself. If the team is cohesive then the only thing that should matter is winning. In this I feel like the coaching/gm have failed to deliver as promised.
Posted By: Dawgs4Life Re: Predictions? - 12/05/21 02:55 AM
I agree w/you Xanthros when it comes to that first terrible moment in our season: week 2 vs Houston was a big nail in our coffin. Then injuries mounted and we had a TOUGH stretch of games (LAC, AZ, PIT, NE, etc)..and we just at get our footing

For the most part yes we do suck. Our defense dominates most of the weak teams like the texans or bears or lions but gets lit up against most good teams or at least teams with explosive offense. Like the chargers and Patriots and cardinals. Our stats make our defense look much better then it actually is. With all that talent and yet joe woods is 26th in blitzes per game. That's pathetic.

my prediction is that the Steelers will be in last place at 5-6-1 and the Bengals will be

end of week predictions

Baltimore 9-3
Bengals 7-5
Browns 6-6
Steelers 5-5-1

dream scenarios
Baltimore 8-3-1
Bengals 7-5
Browns 6-6
Steelers 5-5-2

or

Baltimore 8-4
Bengals 7-5
Steelers 6-5-1
Browns 6-6

I was afraid the BenGALS were fixing to win....LOL.
Posted By: Steubenvillian Re: Predictions? - 12/06/21 12:57 AM
I just hope Stephanski and company use the bye the way they did last year. It changed the season. They must win all the division games to make it ,IMO. Baker is at a point, that he needs to prove he belongs, injured or not. The only way forward is for him and the offense, to open it up and start scoring. Our offense, has no big play threat. Even as a fan, I never think they are going to make a big play when it matters. Championship teams have the guy, or guys, whp make the play when it matters most. I think the defense is at the point where they can hold teams down, but scoring, or even getting first downs, is once again a problem.
Posted By: SuperBrown Re: Predictions? - 12/06/21 04:17 AM
I agree. The only hope is that CKS let's Baker be Gunslinger Baker, not afraid to throw an interception Baker.
Posted By: Dawgs4Life Re: Predictions? - 12/06/21 10:11 AM
This is why I kind of thought the bye was TOO late. Had we had the bye around week 8 we could have recalibrated before it was too late
Posted By: oobernoober Re: Predictions? - 12/06/21 01:58 PM
I hate being 'that guy', but I just don't see how a bye week makes a big difference for us. Yes, it's good to get everyone a little healthier, but I don't see how it heals Baker's shoulder, makes him magically see the field, brings back Conklin or somehow allows us to not start a backup guard at RT, and has our WRs group suddenly not look like a bunch of the league's cast-offs.

This issues we're dealing with aren't ones that can be fixed with a bye week, unfortunately.

You seem to focus on blitzes. Is that really the measure of a defense? Let's look at what you said a little deeper.

The Bengals average scoring 28.1 ppg. We gave up 16 against them.

Denver is averaging 19.8 ppg. We gave up 14 against them.

Chicago is averaging 16.8 ppg. We gave up 6 against them.

Now I'm, certainly not saying our D are world beaters, but saying "they suck" is a gross overstatement.
Posted By: PrplPplEater Re: Predictions? - 12/06/21 05:34 PM
Lets not be disingenuous in our cherry-picking here... you chose two TERRIBLE offenses in Denver and Chicago to highlight.

The Chargers are averaging 26.2 per game. We gave up 47 against them.

New England is averaging 28.0 per game. We gave up 45 against them.

Arizona is averaging 28.6 ppg. We gave up 37 against them.

Kansas City averages 25.3 and we gave up 33 against them.

The worst scoring offense in the NFL, Houston, is averaging 13.7 ppg. We gave up 21 against them. Only because of our offense did we actually win this one.

They are consistently inconsistent and only seem able to assert themselves against generally poor offenses.
Posted By: oobernoober Re: Predictions? - 12/06/21 05:34 PM
Our D is definitely rounding into shape. The only things I'm still waiting to see from them are

1. Complete elimination of those rage-inducing secondary mistakes. We're way way down from earlier in the year, but they're still happening. Progress is good but this is one thing that we need to completely eliminate.

2. Turnovers... yes we just took it away from the Ravens 4 times, but we need to be more consistent about taking the ball away. It seems like we earned all our turnovers in like 2 games so far.

They are definitely improving at the right time. Hopefully, it hasn't been fool's gold and we continue to see this level of play the rest of the way. If they do, and if the offense can fix its woes, then we have a shot at running the table.

Mental errors and the Turnover battle have been our Achille's all season long. We've made a ton of errors on both sides of the ball continuously and we've frequently been on the wrong side of the turnover margins. This is all definitely trending in the right direction, but it needs to continue to improve or we're not going anywhere but home in January.

My point was you can make an argument either way. Not only that, but I stand by my statement that using the term "they suck" is a gross overstatement. It seems as though from your last post you would tend to agree with that.
Posted By: PrplPplEater Re: Predictions? - 12/06/21 06:12 PM
I do agree, but also have moments where I disagree.... consistently inconsistent.

IF they elevate themselves to the point where their inconsistencies no longer cost us games (that's not saying we win... we just don't lose because of them being boneheads), then I would be in full agreement. The Ravens game is definitely an example of them not sucking. Yes, it sucks that we lost, but we didn't lose because of the defense, and being completely fair, the defense has actually carried this team the last several weeks.
Posted By: PitDAWG Re: Predictions? - 12/06/21 06:27 PM
I think many of us understood it would take time for this defense to gel with all of the new players. And I agree that they have shown inconsistency. Yet we have only played four games where they gave up more than 21 points this entire season and only once in the past six weeks. I see that as much more good than bad and certainly not as "they suck".
