- Brissett with the 1’s and moving the ball … it’s imperative that he gets everyone some confidence
- WR is an area of concern, especially after Cooper. I’d like to see some guys make some plays
- Johnson/Ford looking good … having them ready is important
- NO INJURY

Pre-season game is about getting everyone some work and protecting veterans.

You want to see if the rookies can put the playbook and practice into application against competition.

I want to see the defensive tackles. I want to see all the second and third string players play.

I think all the quarterbacks should play some.

I don't have any real expectations just want to see what we have.
Posted By: Dawgs4Life Re: What Do You Want to See - 08/09/22 03:24 PM
DT is another area of concern. I’m interested to see any development from Elliott

Add to that:
Njoku to hold on to a TD pass.
JOK to get a sack before he leaves the game.
Rosen and/or Dobbs to get enough playing time with the 2's to learn the playbook.
Cade to make every single FG.
Posted By: MemphisBrownie Re: What Do You Want to See - 08/09/22 03:37 PM
I want to see Josh Rosen lead us to victory on the final drive.
Posted By: MemphisBrownie Re: What Do You Want to See - 08/09/22 03:53 PM
But being serious...

- I want to see Deshaun. I want get excited seeing him play and hopefully shows what is to come. I'd be nice to see a Watson-to-Cooper or Watson-to-Njoku TD connection.
- I want to see the interior DL options and overall depth.
- I want to see Jerome Ford.
-I want to see David Bell.
- I want to get a better idea of what we have in Brissett assuming we'll be seeing a bunch of him.
- I want to see a healthy Wills and Conklin.

I have not yet seen anything about guys playing or not playing so some points may become irrelevant.
Posted By: PrplPplEater Re: What Do You Want to See - 08/09/22 04:02 PM
I doubt that I'll bother to watch, but...

Preseason games are very vanilla. Jax does not have a secondary loaded with star talent like we do...

so, I'd want to see how our receivers fare in getting open in both Man and Zone situations. Who is running good routes and creating separation? Who demonstrates an ability to find the holes in the zones? Can any of the QBs find them?

How does the OLine look, particularly our OT's, after last year's injury rampage? Are Hubbard & Conklin back and able to contribute at a high level, yet?

How do the DT's look? Penetrating? Are they controlling blocks and playing Run on the way to the QB, or are they simply creating & vacating a hole for the Jax RB's to storm through?
Posted By: oobernoober Re: What Do You Want to See - 08/09/22 04:17 PM
I also want to see Brissett looking good with the 1's.
No injuries.
Lots of running the ball.

Maybe a sneak peak of our dominant defense.

Just went looking, so I thought I’d share…

“In addition to the Browns' local broadcasts on News 5 — the preseason home of the Browns — NFL Network will carry live the Browns' preseason games at Jacksonville (Aug. 14, 7 p.m.) and against the New York Giants at FirstEnergy Stadium (Aug. 22, 1 p.m.). Fans watching locally, however, will only have access to the game via the News 5 broadcast. Cleveland's preseason finale at Atlanta (Aug. 29, 8 p.m.) was already slated to air nationally as part of NBC's Sunday Night Football package.”

I want to see the offense actually have a play that
Covers more than 30 yds.
This offense was so.vanilla and lacking in splash
Chunk plays last year.
There is a time and place for time consuming drives
But if your offense can score in less than 6 plays
Now you have the defense stressing itself out and
A DC.searching for answers.

- I want to see David Bell play, doubtful since he’s only been practicing a few days.

- I want to see Perrion Winfrey play, hope he tears it up

- I want to see that Basketball turned Football player play TE, name escapes me right now

- I want to see Cade York make all his kicks
Posted By: clwb419 Re: What Do You Want to See - 08/09/22 05:07 PM
No injuries - that's all I want this game. Game 2 will be no injuries and improvement from game 1. You can imagine my game 3 desires smile

Any word on seeing the game? Our newspaper, wrong multiple times last year, listed our gamed as only on radio. Columbus? Bar? NFL? I wanna see the Elf on the Field.

I don’t think the game will be televised outside of cleveland until the NFLN shows the replay

I counter that with a season long suspension this season and then shreds his ACL on the opening drive, week 1 of the 2023 season. tongue

Maybe a series or 2. Maybe.

I would play Watson for one series, maybe two if the first one is only 3-4 plays. I'd play Brissett 1 or 2 series and then play Dobbs and Rosen the rest of the game.

Edit: I would play the starting OL w/both Watson and Brissett.

I agree. The risk with playing both QBs is that our OL is gonna have to be out there for both too

None of the key starters played in the first preseason game last year. Nor did they play in the second game. Only Baker played two series in the third preseason game.

I would also add that this year is only 3 preseason games, so it may be like the HOF game, where very few starters play.

Wow! Thanks for the info.

I was wondering if the guys would play a bit more due to there being one less preseason game. Guess I was wrong about that assumption. Thanks again for the info.
Posted By: AZBrown Re: What Do You Want to See - 08/10/22 03:44 PM
Thinking about it now, I wonder if Watson will get just a little bit more playing time compared to a #1 QB under normal circumstances in a preseason game (considering how long it has been since he played in a game and how long it might be before he plays another).

Probably not. A lot of money to risk for one unfortunate hit.

Just a note to my question yesterday. When I checked the NFL channel, we were not listed. Our paper still lists only two radio broadcasts. When I checked cable, they have Browns listed at game time on Channel 21, which I think is a Columbus feed for Spectrum. FWIW

Get Elfed, y'all! Go, Browns!

Is there any way to watch the game live if you don’t live in the CLE area?

At this point, I don't care what happens in the Browns game tomorrow night. I'm not looking forward to it, don't expect anything positive could possibly come from it and generally, I'm very angry with the league and the team.
If they want to, put off what may be a 45th best uarterack in the NFL as the Browns starter, and do so again, after all these years of trash,
Then maybe they just shouldn't show this teams games on media.
Maybe it's time to stop watching the NFL, any of it.

Just a guess, but it might be that they are working out the details of a settlement and need a bit more time to get it done. I thought they would go public w/the ruling yesterday or today if they were going to impose a year-long to indefinite suspension. Just a guess, though.
Posted By: Rishuz Re: What Do You Want to See - 08/12/22 08:28 PM
You can watch the game live on NFL game pass. They are also doing a free trial. It you go beyond the free trial you will have access to every single game for the entire league right after they are done airing live. I think it's like $99 a year. Pretty good deal. And you can go back many years in history.

Ro clarify, pre-season games are live, regular season after they are done airing.

I am hoping to see our secondary look improved. That’s an area that should be … Delpit, Newsome, Green, Greedy all with another year. Johnson, Harrison, Ward. That’s a stacked group.

I want to see the Browns have an identity
There are 32 teams, I6 or I7 of those, that team has an identity that most people can agree on.

a team identity doesn't change over time, it doesn't change over short periods of time like, every fourteen weeks or so,
a team with an identity, you know what you are going to get, year after year, and
it allows for the group to get better as a group.
The Browns, aside from the constant attempt to fix what may or may not be broken, and creating the instability of endless change,
what is their identity.
oh, and analytics vacuums too.

We know that some of us have speculated on why Brissett isn't getting more reps w/the first team. Now, we see he isn't even going to play tonight. It could very well just be coincidence, but he can't get injured if he doesn't play. Although, w/our luck, he might trip and break his right arm while exiting the bus.

Friggin ready to go!! I am really excited to see our rookies play. Alex Wright DE, Winfrey, Emerson, Bell and Ford our RB. This could be the deepest team with legit talent we have seen since the early 90's. I know it will be vanilla on both sides of the ball which means guys who make plays are instictive and they have IT!. "IT" being they are really good football players who have been there and done IT in their career. I think we have a really good talent pool. Dont really care about the final score but we should be winning at halftime. GO BROWNS!!!
