shaping up to be a dress rehearsal, at least for a half.

Let’s hope our top units execute well and stay healthy.

It would be nice to see Brissett look crisp

Pregame interview, on the sidelines Coach Stefanski

" I tell these guys the whole league is watching, I'd like to keep em all but there are jobs open not just on this team but other NFL teams.

...
Is it so much to ask that your head coach cares about your team only? What a slap in the face that he doesn't seem to be a homer.
he's the head freaking coach, if he doesn't even care, then why show up.

What a Slap in the face that the Browns HC wants to populate other NFL teams with our guys, guys in Browns' uniforms.

Just what does this Browns team, this uniform stand for anymore.
Has the Browns uniform ever stood for less, if the HC doesn't even care if he sends all his guys to other rosters. ANY of his guys.

The thing that stings the most is they don't appear to have any foundation, any continuity,
Or that they even want any
Any Anything.

It's getting to be passing to Schwartz is a wasted pass. He should have had that.
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/27/22 11:21 PM
First cut tomorrow needs to be Schwartz. Stop wasting time and a roster spot. Horrible pick. Time to move on

Wow do we need WR depth. Schwartz is pretty bad.
Posted By: lampdogg Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/27/22 11:22 PM
I don’t have the game live here, but cut him. Just be rid of him. My analytics say Schwartz is not an nfl receiver
Posted By: THROW LONG Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/27/22 11:23 PM
But why is He playing, can't they find somebody else who sucks and drops passes that can play?
Oh we know why he is playing,
He is playing because of analytics. and analytics loses on gamedays.

Brissett is not very good, and the coaching or whatever, had an earlier Circus catch by DPJ only = negative one yard, or zero, or one yard.

Felton is pretty Dynamic. Come on dude. He made a bad decision reading the block on 2nd down out in space, but he is pretty Stout.

Brissett = less than Keenum was, less than .. Lauletta? last year, less than or = to Tyrod Taylor? and
# Start Dobbs. <-- ( and it feels ridiculous to have to type that <)

He's not the coach we thought we were getting. Depo liked him because the Browns were in need of a steady hand. He's never had any major success anywhere. His claim to fame is he is calm. His offense is pedestrian, he couldn't make it work with his last QB, and now he doesn't have an above average QB to hide his shortcomings as a coach.

It's going to be a long season.

He is a @uarterback who isn't any good, and will lose a lot until they try another unproven @uarterback

it took 6 @uarters or I.5 games one of the years Dishone Kaiser was playing, before they switched @bs'

( I dunno, don't give up on your route? it was right there, it's pretty obvious, whatever)

He's a robot. He's not going to out coach or out scheme the other side. He's not going to rally his team. He's not uber competitive and just hates to lose. He's going to analyze the numbers. He's going to tell his GM he can make it work with Brissett which is just arrogance.

He needs an elite QB to be successful. He doesn't even have anything to do with the defense.

That should be the end of nfl career for Schwartz. Worst pick of the Berry era and that’s saying a lot. We should have went after McDaniels

So 3rd and 9 they miss a pass to Schwartz short of the line to gain.

What for the Drive # 6 to gain the first points of the preseason by a Brissett led offense.
a 58ish yard field goal, the 2nd 58 yard ish field goal the first one was no good and ended in an opponents touchdown in short order.

I wish the NFL had relegation
that way
the Browns would have to win to stay in the NFL
and then
maybe
there wouldn't be so much Barbara stresisnnnd.

like, Jacoby Brissett? Oh my gosh, it's not his fault, that this system doesn't get players for proper positions in the depth chart.
it's this systems fault. And who does the buck stop with with this system.

they said it fast at the start of the tv broadcast, I tried to @uickly sketch down the names, so it may be incomplete but,
Hunt, Chubb, Cooper, Bitonio,
Ward Newsome, Garrett and Clowney did not play tonight.
The first play starters included, Brissett, Felton and (Schwartz, why?) and D'Ernest Johnson had the 2nd snaps carry.

I haven't seen any of Ford tonight, probably not a bad thing.

I was actually thinking the same thing. I didn't like the draft choice. I have since kinda hoped for the best because he catches a lot of grief. But, he was awful this preseason. He is probably gone.

I really think we are going to be bad this year. As a coach, I can't point to one single thing he excels at. And he's going to be at a disadvantage to start the season at QB.

I just don't see alot guys that can make big plays
Which is imperative to being a top seeded playoff team

The problem with WR is it takes 2-3 years for the NFL game to click far too often. I didn't get to watch a single preseason game this year, but I doubt he will get cut because they saw something in him when they drafted him and haven't brought it out yet. And I'm not defending him, that's just the way it is.

No it doesn’t. You can either catch or you can’t. If he makes the team over a guy like Wims then this team is doomed to have bad player management until Berry is gone. There is nothing Schwartz has done to merit a single second more

Things will look different when Cooper gets on the field. Teams will have to double cover him all day.

Looks to be just shy

All joking aside, we are showing a lot of heart tonight!!

That was the weakest QB sneak lol

Really like the adjustments by Stefanski, the guy is just an offensive guru

The 2nd, 3rd and 4th stringers for sure.
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/28/22 02:05 AM
Need some touch on that
Posted By: Dawgs4Life Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/28/22 02:05 AM
The fact we QB sneaked with Rosen in the preseason is all you need to know about our concern about his future lol
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/28/22 02:06 AM
Would have been a good time to practice an onside

2004 week 1 .. I remember that day very well
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/28/22 02:09 AM
Yeah that was some bad effort there. Secondary ain’t very deep

Bears receiver wide open sitting on the ground catches a pass

Damn I would have been a sophomore in High school. That's the last time the Browns won a home opener.

Could somebody answer a few questions because I missed the game and just read the thread:

I said last week or so that if Brissett sucked there would be a QB controversy by game 3 (after two games), but it already sounds like there is one. So I ask, who looked better tonight and who would you start if you were making the call?

Riz, I agree we won't be good this year but I also agree with Vers that DW was the prize we chased, and if he returns to his earlier form after suspension, we'll be golden. Assuming he doesn't screw up or ever takes a snap as a Brown that is. I also don't think much of SKI at the moment, but I really like him the first year, so the jury is out on him IMO. And that leads to my second question, do you think the first team's poor performance was due to these guys not being prepared or simply failing to execute? And how many regular starters played on O tonight, most or few?
Posted By: OldColdDawg Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/28/22 02:36 AM

Never mind me asking who played, just found this. That's a lot of stars on the bench. I wouldn't write us off just yet.

Schwartz does 1 thing good. He can run fast in a
Straight line. He lacks instincts and a feel for the game. His hands are
Really bad. He wants to run before securing the ball
He plays scared. He was overdrafted .He was not worthy
Of being a 3rd RD pick. Your assessment of Stefanski in developing WRs couldn't
Be more wrong. DPJ and Schwartz couldn't start for any of the AFC North
Teams. Not 1 Browns WR had a catch over 40 yds this preseason
Amari Cooper can't make Schwartz a better WR.
That's up to Schwartz.

Dude, how are you going to agree w/a dude who is only here to troll the Browns because he loves Baker? Seriously?
Posted By: FATE Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/28/22 02:46 AM
"You guys? The majority of those who post a lot are hating on the Browns right now. They will use your posts to further their crusade about blaming Stefanski for Baker being moved. Feel the room, bro."

Yes, I can imagine it...........and you know damn well those guys are praying that it happens. Oh, I forgot mac.

#habitualLIAR

Show me one post where I've "hated on the Browns" or blamed Stefanski for Baker being moved. Hell, how 'bout any post where I've criticized Stefanski. Got some? Ante up.

You should just drop me from your agenda, because I'm gonna call you out every time and ask for receipts.

Grow up.

Gameday thread winner! That was hilarious!

Schwartz is #notarealfootballplayer. Been saying it for nearly a year now.

Well dawg, when you falsely accuse me of calling other posters racist and then back 888 on the family thing and also use baby memes to try and humiliate me and deny that timing between WR and QB is important and etc, etc..............then, your posts speak for themselves. You are a Baker fan and have taken the low road. You will never again regain my trust. You defend the absolute scum of this board. You probably feel the same about me. No problem. We can agree to not stand one another. I'm cool if we never talk again. Wanna agree to that after you chastise me in your response? After all, my post warrants a scathing reply, but seriously, I would be totally cool if we never speak each other's name agan. I
Posted By: FATE Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/28/22 03:10 AM
lmdao.

I remember baby memes -- because you are a crybaby. I accused you of calling someone racist? lmao, I'd like to see that one... ante up. I'm sure you can find it in one of your paranoid spreadsheets you keep for everything that is posted here. I said timing between WR and QB is unimportant? Pffft... pull that one up too. So here's the question, goalposts, what does that have to do with Stafanski running Baker out of town? I'll wait. #liar

Here's the bottom line homeboy... keep my name out of your mouth and I'll keep yours out of mine. You endlessly name drop (in nearly every post) to try to set narrative around here... and then sprinkle in the sadly ironic "it would be nice to talk football around here". It was comical until it became sad (years ago).
Posted By: Versatile Dog Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/28/22 03:15 AM
Okay.........if I pull them up, will you leave the board?

I would start Dobbs over Brissett because the offense didn't begin to move otherwise.
Brissett had 6 drives, barely crossed midfield, if that, had a missed long field goal try that basically set up the opponent in too good of field position, and an interception, and one made long field goal for 3 points. 3-2I the score. (multiple 3 and outs)

Dobbs had 4 drives, and got eleven points on the first 3 drives, but even if you take some of that away,
If you combine the play by Dobbs in last weeks meaningless pre season game, and this weeks meaningless pre season game
you may see that Dobbs at least gives you a chance to maybe keep the offense on the field.
( I'd have more confidence in Case Keenum if Keenum were still on the Browns, than either of those options.)
Posted By: Versatile Dog Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/28/22 03:26 AM
And Fate, be very careful.........I reported the racist post. You made a lengthy list about how I respond to other posters. You said I called others racist.

You also said that I was making excuses for our qbs due to timing when you responded to one of Pit's posts. Sounding familiar?

You also called me out for saying we shouldn't call out other posters family members. You backed 888, who was defending Pit.......but I think talking about a son's sexuality preferences is a long way from saying one should spend more time w/one's children than focusing on trashing a poster. Dude, go blank yourself.

Harley might, Wims hasn't shown enough yet. And I may not be able to explain how you can watch 2 guys both make a catch and say, one of them did something and the other one didn't, because they both made a catch, but it's in the eye test.
My opinion of Harley changed tonight in he's better than I thought.

Exactly WHAT have I said?
Posted By: FATE Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/28/22 06:29 AM
Lol. "Be very careful." rofl You need help.

I made a list of all the categories posters fall into if they don't march lockstep with all of your Deshaun Watson crybaby b.s.

Quote
If you would just listen to Vers, your life would be a lot easier... he speaks the truth.

No matter the issue, he has it all figured out. This endless banter trying to prove any point is futile. If you don't toe the line, you are:

* Racist (a new one)

* A "Baker Boy"

* Narrow-minded

* Not a real Browns fan and hope they lose

* Gullible enough to believe a bunch of lying call girls

* Etc, etc, etc...

Get with the program, dawg.

^ This after you spent three pages trying to prove the NFL is racist in their treatment of Watson... with crap like: "football fans in the comments sections seem to agree with me" while belittling those on here that don't. Along with other silly veiled snarks... like "posters here that actually still support the Browns", "those that want Watson severely punished"; and all the other endless, mindless, third-grade b.s. that dribbled out of your pie-hole in every comment.

But sure...

Show where:

I said you called others racist

Blamed Stefanski for Baker leaving

Said timing between WR and QB is unimportant

"hated on the Browns"

... and I'll leave here forever.

Can't do it, but I'll still be waiting. #habitualLIAR
Posted By: archbolddawg Re: Gameday vs Chicago - 08/28/22 06:47 AM
there are 3 posters that make this place miserable. The person you replied to is one on them. (you can figure the other 2 out).

One of them even called me a Baker fan boy, after spending weeks upon weeks telling us how awesome DW was................and then telling us "well, okay, DW won't play, but Jacoby won't turn the ball over, and he'll get rid of the ball and not take sacks."

I now of NO one that said Stefanski was responsible for Baker being traded. I do know some questioned play calls by KS, especially with an injured qb.

Racist? That gets tossed around so much anymore it's a joke.
