this is it everyone. I hope to see us compete and fight. And that our offense can continue to make strides

With the second half performance of watson last week and as well as this D has been playing as of late there's no reason this shouldn't be an easy win for the Browns.

Except that it is the Steeler game. Since when have those ever been easy?

I guess we had a easy win when Carson(?) was coach and we won maybe 52-10, or something like that. When was that, maybe 30-35 years ago?
Posted By: sk8termom Re: Gameday at Pittsburgh - 01/08/23 04:08 PM
Here's to an injury-free game for both sides
Posted By: Steubenvillian Re: Gameday at Pittsburgh - 01/08/23 04:15 PM
I am kind of excited for this game, but cot that sinking feeling that it will be the usual second game against them. Where the Browns let them walk all over them, and beat themselves with stupid mistakes and penalties. I hope I am wrong, but I have seen this happen over and over for at least two decades.
Posted By: PitDAWG Re: Gameday at Pittsburgh - 01/08/23 04:17 PM
Pickett has 6td passes and 9int's. He has a QBR of 49.9. watson looked golden in the second half last week. So you don't believe in the "process"?

You either believe all watson needed was to knock of the rust and progress in order for the Browns to be world beaters or you don't. When people make such claims only to also try and install built in excuses why that isn't enough I find it to be quite confusing. So yes, considering watson's progression and Pickett's limitations it should be an easy victory.

Yeah, he understands the game too well to keep.

My favorite Bernie announcer moment was a preseason game when brady quinn was our Qb. Quinn is under center and Bernie says "I sure hope he sees the Cb blitz coming". Quinn takes the snap, drops back, and that blitzing Cb almost immediately puts a helmet between Quinn's shoulder blades. Bernie then says, "Guess not".
Posted By: THROW LONG Re: Gameday at Pittsburgh - 01/08/23 05:32 PM
On Fox NFL Sunday. Jimmy Johnson former cowboy coach, just no brainer>ed, pfff, of course the steelers will win.
They'll win. Jimmy Johnson is not a dumb guy. What does he know.
He can't know the game that will take place, only thing he could know is if the game is fixed,

who knows, maybe the teelers will win on a returned incomplete pass incorrectly called a fumble

It worked for Jacksonvilles fixed game last night.
the new York offices got what they wanted probably.

It clearly was. Which raises the question, when was the last time there was a really bad call in a Browns-Steelers game that went against the Steelers? And over the past 20 years what would that ratio of bad calls be? Easily 5-1 if not 10-1 for calls in favor of the Steelers

Perrion Winfrey, and penalty on Tony Fields downfield illegal contact.

Tony Fields negative play for every positive play I6 yard downfield.

Only the Browns rush a play instead of letting the clock expire to go to 2nd quarter.

I'm sure there is some analytics on that.

Not sure. He's got a reputation of being smart.

It's the athleticism to get out of for sure sacks that's really the difference to me.

Myles doesn't know when to spin. He's not being coached in my opinion.

Can't bull rush and has some really poor spins this half that actually put him in worse position to make a play.

Just a reminder, we could have drafted Kenny Picket, paid him $3.5 M for the next 4 years and have all our draft picks. Just sayin'

Unfortunately we couldn't draft Mike Tomlin.

He doesn't hate chubb, he just doesn't care if we win. He needs to get Watson his reps because if he doesn't show up at a near MVP level next year, stefanski and Barry should both be fired.

I called it in the browns steelers preview thread. I said watson would turn it over 2 to 3 times. He can't read a defense

People clamoring for Brissett seem to forget our 4-7 records and his 3 interceptions in the end zone and the others the ended games with a change to win. I get you all hate a guy who hasn’t played in 700 days but let’s not pretend Brissett is a good qb

Night night. Have a swell season, errryboday.

Looking forward to another dysfunctional offseason of embarrassment and humiliation. Then some ridiculously misplaced optimism that we won’t enter the season with the same dirty underwear we always start with.

They don’t deserve us. Yet we come back year after year. Who’s to blame, I ask. Who’s to blame?

Psychologically it's just easier when you have to convince yourself that your $5 million backup is good than when you have to convince yourself that your $230 million and 3 first round picks guy is good.

It's not Watson or Brissett. We have the worst head coach in the league.

The Watson trade will prove to be a trade that will ensure browns are the continuing joke of the NFL for at least another 5 years.

Hot take….Stefanski isn’t fired. He quits. Woods takes over as HC. Hue comes back as OC. Freddy takes over as QB coach.

Watson can't win AFC north games
td. 20 to seven bad guys

the scored 20 unanswered. Unanswered b/c the Browns offense is below average, and when facing really good defenses the Browns offense is a liability.

It is the offense AGAIN that lost this game

making it not even close, giving up 20 unanswered, trailing by I3.

No I’m in agreement that stefanski needs gone. I’m in disagreement that 6 games is enough to not have any rust. Especially with a playcaller like stefanski and the trash receivers and oline we have

Watson has 4 years of NFL experience. He had last off-season with the Browns, this is his 6th game back this year.

He's getting outplayed by a guy making his 10th NFL start EVER, who last year was playing Boston College.

Anyway, looking forward to next year!!

This is because the Browns have never been this talented.

Watson looked horrible today.

He did not want to play in this game.

Wills is fine. Not perfect but fine. He's part of the solution, not the problem.

Steelers going to get lit up for that next to last sack when one Steeler started doing chest compressions on the guy who made the sack. Too soon, bro.

It's hard to be a good OL when your QB is holding, holding, holding the ball ...... banghead

19/29 2 TDs 2 INTs 7 sacks and he ran around scared all day.

Somehow he has an 84 rtg.

Barf!

The only difference between Watson and Baker is Watson is more athletic. Baker had no idea what he was doing post snap. Watson has no idea what he is doing post snap.

Add in the fact the Browns have one of the bottom five coaches in the league and there is really no hope.

Kinda disagree. This was a high first rounder and he’s about the worst of the “top tier” LTs in that draft.

At some point, this front office and this ownership needs to answer some hard questions.

It boils down to us, the fans. We continue to put up with this UNACCEPTABLE crap year after year after year.

It’s on us.

Can't wait to read Eotab last "what I saw thread " of the year

Wills is so far from being a problem it's not even funny.

You're number one problem is the head coach.

Your number two problem is the structure of Depo, Berry, Stefanski, and Haslam.

Fix the structure...jettison Depo, Berry, and Stefanski...bring in Harbuagh and the GM of his choosing, and you've got a start.

They don't make leaders much weaker than Stefanski.

None. We are as far away from competing in this division as we have ever been. Add in that we have traded away our ability to build (not that anyone would expect them to draft anyone good).

We have solidified our sewer level division rank for several years.

Go Browns.

Nothing more to add. Just deeply disappointed with our leadership and some of our coaches.
