With less than a week away... This is how I'd like to see things pan out for the Browns... of course it probably won't happen b/c I'm sure we will be apart of some trade activity. Quote:
1-Eric Berry – S - Tennessee The Best of the Best here @ #7. Berry can cover and also lay the lumber.
2- Colt McCoy – QB - Texas This guy is gonna quiet the critics. Cleveland finally gets a successful QB. Rocket arm's are not needed to win games. Accuracy is key.
3a- Reshad Jones – S - Georgia Really didn't want Jones here, but the guy is talented. He and Berry will be a QB's nightmare.
3b- Jacoby Ford – WR - Clemson Speedster. The next Steve Smith.
3c- Perrish Cox – CB – Ok St. To get the kind of talent Cox possesses in the 3rd round is a steal. Cox sticks to WR's like fly's on sticky paper.
5a- Torrell Troup – DE/NT – Central Florida NT's fall. Troup will be no different. He can also play DE. We need a big ugly. Our's are getting old.
5b- Tony Moeaki – TE - Iowa Great talented TE with lots of miles left. Hopefully the injury bug won't hit him like it did in college.
5c- Sam Young – T – Norte Dame Let him compete with Pashos for the starting RT position.
6a- Zane Beadles – T/G - Utah Can move to Guard, and help solidify the right side of the o-line. Can play different positions.
6b- Kade Weston – DT – Georgia Another big ugly. Weston at NT. His size is rare. Big Plug in the middle of the line. Eat'm up!

Although the chances of that happening as it's printed is about 3,000,000:1, I'd be pretty darn happy with it!

I would take that draft in a second. As you both have said, it is doubtful it will happen exactly that way. Also, I'm not quite as high on McCoy as you are (but I DO think he is a much smarter choice than Tebow/Clausen and what it would take to get Bradford).
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I have no mock, but I have one prediction in this draft...
We will walk away with more than one 2nd round pick. Maybe even more than two, depending on how the draft goes (if we trade down).
I've said it before: I wouldn't mind trading out of the first completely if Berry's gone, then use all the picks we've obtained to trade up into the 2nd as many times as possible.

You can forget Parrish Cox. Character issues.
There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

That's one of my problems with Mangini. I'm all for drafting high character guys, but sooner or later you're going to have to take a talented player who has character issues. Some of these high character guys have good attitudes but are lacking in overall talent.
Nice mock HotB. Most fans would be pretty happy if it all turned out that way.

it's not just mangini,,, it's a whole lotta clubs that are thinking in terms of high character being important,, or should I say, More important..
And now, with the possibility of the league talking about a fine for teams as well as players, the cost of taking that risk could become way out of line..

I guess since the other thread must be dead... and because if I want people to read my mock, what better place to put it then in the HotBYoungTurk's Pre-Draft Mock thread. As thousands or maybe even millions will come to read this... jk
We've got a pretty similar idea as for the positions and even the same people. I have Troupe and Beedles going in the 3rd to us though... and your getting them in the 5th and 6th. If that happens then so be it... your the better man than I.
Round 1, Number 7
FS– Eric Berry
By all accounts if he's there... I think we'll take him. I'm thinking he'll be there.
Round 2, Number 38
QB– Tim Tebow
Think we'd like to wait until the 3rd to get him but he won't last. Seems to have everything Holmgren preaches about in a QB. Great leader, great work habits, great feet, good accuracy, intelligent, etc.
Round 3, Number 71
RB/WR - Dexter McCluster
Just a playmaker... Probably the guy I really don't want to miss in this draft. More quick than fast. But is very, very explosive and plays bigger than he is.
Round 3, Number 85
OG - Zane Beedles
Projects as a replacement for the "little light in the pants" Steinbach... Strong, big kid, who played LT in college.
Round 3, Number 92
DT – Torrell Troup
Can't honestly say I've never noticed him playing. But from all accounts we are very interested in him. Bringing him in for two visits. Said to be a strong guy who was a four year starter for a good program.
Round 5, Number 134
OLB - Jason Worilds
Athletic DE in college who projects to OLB... could fit in right away as a pass rushing specialist. Only 6'1" so he could be a terror for the taller tackles in the NFL with his speed and low center of gravity.
Round 5, Number 146
OLB - O'Brien Schofield
Got hurt at the senior bowl.. Will probably red shirt his first season in the nfl. But would be a steal this late in the draft.
Round 5, Number 160
?? - Jameson Konz
Not sure where he'll play in the NFL.. another athletic freak who should at least be a special teams ace.
Round 6, Number 177
CB - Walter McFadden
Never noticed him when watching Auburn... has good numbers and measurables though. And is projected to go somewhere in the 6-7th round. So I'm taking him. Good thing our new FO doesn't draft players with my logic eh?
Round 6, Number 186
C - Jeff Byers
Can play guard too.. he's projected to go in the 6th... fills a possible need and looks the part
"I'm a mog. Half man, half dog. I'm my own best friend."
