John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
Edge Adrian Clayborn, Atlanta Falcons I touched on Beasley earlier as one of the players who might be overvalued by his sack numbers. His running mate at edge, Clayborn, falls in the other camp. He only had four sacks on the season, but very few edge rushers won a higher rate of their pass-rushing snaps. The top-five edge defenders with 200 or more pass-rushing snaps in pass-rush win rate were J.J. Watt (25.3%), Myles Garrett (25.0%), Joey Bosa (22.9%), Za’Darius Smith (21.2%) and Clayborn (21.1%).
Clayborn has shown flashes in games – who can forget the Chaz Green game – and seasons (2017) where he has looked dominant, but he has been unable to string together multiple seasons at that level. With his last three seasons being his three best seasons in PFF overall grade, it makes sense for a team to capitalize on his low sack total from 2019 and bring him in on a team-friendly deal in 2020.

Yeah, I'm okay w/this signing. I'm surprised, but if he can still play, he can serve a purpose. Especially in passing situations.
I didn't watch a ton of Atlanta while they were on D last year. Hard for me to say if the dropped off or not. I know he used to be a pretty damn good pass rusher.
I think it a pretty good signing. I live 110 miles from Atlanta. I get all their games on local TV. I don't watch them all, but when I do, this cat gets around the QB on a regular basis. He doesn't get many sacks, but he is there slapping his hand on a pad, or rushing the QB's thought process.
Good signing.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
Good depth DE, something we missed last year obviously. He’s experienced and a decent pass rusher
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
I agree. I should have been more clear. I meant as a back-up. He did some really nice things in regards to setting the edge and providing outside containment. Those are things I look for in a DE/Edge player.
I feel the average fan or even the common athlete doesn't expect great play out of a injured player. I'm happy I'm a fan and don't have to put my body in the physical abuse athletes have to.

The money would be nice, bro.
As most of you know I was a RB. I don't think people really appreciate how much abuse a RB takes. Blocking pass rushers who weigh over 100-150 lbs more than you. Blocking speed freaks w/iron bodies. Getting crunched by those same dudes when you run the ball. Gang-tackled. Catching a short pass and getting lit up by a safety or LBer because your back is turned and the qb throws it high or in front of you or behind you.
The hits take a toll on a man's body. Trust me on that one.
J/C Holy Crap I was just on Spotrac looking at F/A DE's. I clicked over here and Bang!. He is a good player, love it for depth and 3rd down packages. I always remember he really hustles his rear off, dont always get the sack, but puts pressure on. Nice FA signing at this point and allows us not to have to take an Edge guy in the early rounds of the draft.
I like this move a lot. He should be a perfect rotational piece outside.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
Clayborn should not be the starter. I think you have things backwards.
Anyway, here is an excerpt from an article about the Falcons that preceded the Brown's signing of Clayborn.
Quote:
Adrian Clayborn: BUY
It feels like every offseason the Falcons ink Adrian Clayborn to a one year deal. Hey, let’s do it again. After spending four of his last five seasons in Atlanta, Clayborn has become a rotational body. However, he knows this system & team well and has given the Falcons plenty every year at his price point. He managed to pick up four sacks last season (more than Takk McKinley), so he has some gas left in the tank. I would not be surprised at all if the Falcons inked him after 4:00 today.
Yes. I think this is a good signing. Think about this:
Passing downs:
Bring in Clayborn at one edge, keep Vernon at the other edge, move Myles inside and have Ogunjobi as the other DT. Those are some guys who can get after the passer, dawg!
Everything the team has done has altered my ideas about the draft. I was very much inclined to target one of the top Safeties in round 2. I would wait until round 3 if a particular d-lineman is available at pick 41. Marlon Davidson, DT/DE Auburn. Long-term he'll be and DT but he's got experience and real production from the edge. Add Clayborn and this kid's abilities to our front and keep Vernon until his contract expires.
We obviously needed a 3rd end...we obviously need some veteran leadership in our locker room as well.
From what I remember about Claybourne is he came out in 2011, and a lot of people were pumping him here. I remember wanting Ryan Kerrigan that year, and I think we ended up with Jabaal Sheard that year. He has been or had been injury riddled then I remember one year he produced a monster stat year a few years ago. Good high effort player...I was hoping for Everson Griffin, but Claybourne is a solid-good signing considering we have little to nothing behind Myles and Vernon.
Once again, hopefully it keeps us from reaching for need.
I could be wrong but hasn't Claybourne also played snaps inside? Then again I may be thinking of Allen Bailey whom I wanted us to sign last year.
Having Claybourne also means we will be able to keep Richardson at Tackle and not be forced to move him to DE in case of injury, something we had to do lat year.
The Cleveland Browns - WE KNOW QUARTERBACKS ( Look at how many we've had ... )

I know that is one way to look at it, but I don't look at position targets in the draft, at least early. Let the draft come to you then see who is there and take the best player. I can see doing that starting maybe around the 5th or 6th round if you need a punter or long snapper.
OK, maybe you cross some players/positions off the board...I am not looking for a QB or a RB or whatever but I would never think, ok, in the 2nd we are going to draft a safety, in the 3rd a backer, in the 4th a guard.
Why handcuff yourself? You know what you hope to find. Think of it as money. Why pass over $10 when you are looking for $5?
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
Reports are saying this morning that it is a vet minimum deal with incentives.
I really like how this signing encapsulates our free agency so far. Make a couple big signings to boost the starters, then go after some depth/short-term starters without paying crazy contracts. THEN....wait for the market to soften and get someone like Clayborn on a very cheap deal with a record of productivity.
Good to know the smart guys are back making these type of decisions.
