BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns were rewarded by the NFL for their performance in last weeks 49-38 win over the Dallas Cowboys as a team. Individually, one of their top players was rewarded with an individual honor as defensive end Myles Garrett was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance.

Garrett was honored for games played Oct. 1-5 (Week 4), the NFL announced Wednesday.

Garrett had a game-changing play when he strip-sacked quarterback Dak Prescott in the second quarter and the Browns capitalized on the turnover at the Cowboys' 34 yard line to take the lead, for good on their way to the win.

Besides the strip-sack, Garrett sacked Prescott earlier in the game, as well.

Garrett had three tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble. He helped the Browns improve to 3-1, their best start to a season since 2001. Garrett has recorded at least one sack and one forced fumble in three consecutive games.

Garrett has five sacks on the season and is tied for the NFL lead in sacks with Green Bay's Za'Darius Smith.

The Browns are leading the NFL with 10 takeaways and a +6 turnover margin this season. Garrett is tied for the NFL lead in sacks (five), forced fumbles (three) and fumble recoveries (two).

Garrett is the first Browns player to win AFC Defensive Player of the Week since LB Joe Schobert in Week 12 last year and the first Browns defensive end to win the award since Kenard Lang in Week 1 of 2004. This is the first league award in Garrett’s career.
Congrats Miles! thumbsup

Now if we’ll stop giving up 38 points, I’ll be even happier.
Congrats Miles!!
That's great for him. I'm shocked that Beckham somehow didn't make the offensive player of the week.
Myles is THE Best Defensive player in the NFL in 2020!

He didn't just start, so, reading this is his first league award is surprising. Myles changed so many games so far these last 3+ years,

the Browns 34 unanswered points in Texas Stadium, was reinforced and the Route started at 14-14, with his strip sack, fumble causing, turnover.
Way to go Myles ... he’s really impacted the 3 wins greatly

j/c...

Hopefully after this season players will start WANTING to come here..stud players the best Safeties, LBs and DLman, where in years past we have had them say NO to the Browns and then go with Ravens or other Teams on contention. We should be the place to land for guys who want to WIN!

jmho...keep it up Browns one game at a time, this is a real tester as actually each game has been of course once we beat them the pundits act as if it was a fluke and the opponent stinks. Cowboys btw will win their division!
