I got the humor. I just added my own observation sans any humor as I felt like being a little serious. It's something I've been thinking about as I've watched Teddy through two games this year. I know all the things you were going to say, and I don't think they would sound insulting...although sounding insulting seems to be a gift you possess. Would our QB situation be resolved with Teddy? I agree it would certainly be nice going into the draft with the situation resolved. I'm just wondering how resolved most in the fanbase and media would feel the situation really is. Teddy is a bit underwhelming.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Why are you hoping Weeden will play well for the Cowboys?
Actually I hope he plays well...not as a haha against some posters that's not me. I'd like to go haha to a lot of So Called MEDIA EXPERTS...and my sons are a Cowboy fan and a Giant fan. Always hope they both do well. They route for the Browns all the time!
Johnny vs. Bridgewater. Not so sure he would have started last year. Most definitely he would have been ready to start this year.
Homer aside...I really really like the prospects of Manziel. He gets the little things down, plus his big play ability...we actually could have a GREAT offense not just a serviceable one. I just wish him to stay on this NEW MANTRA of his and the inevitable will happen!

i like the thought of an ex brown doin well. maybe not alot of ex browns have shown us we were wrong. im ok with a player showing something of an upside.
im happy with manziel after last game. he should be good to go if we give him a shot.
im guessing the vets had a meeting and said they wanted the vet to play. we might need to keep them from doin that?
I`m good with Baker... Playoffs is good enough for me.

If Dallas can't find a way to run the ball, then it's ouchy time for them today with Weeden behind center.

IIRC, last time I checked Weeden was something like 18/20.

... for Matt Cassel As much as people want to laugh at Weeden .... look at what the Cowboys have at WR. People wanted to laugh at our WR corps, but man, the Cowboys have 3's across the board without Bryant in the game. It will be interesting to see if Cassell can do anything with the skill players they have. I realize that they have talent at RB and TE with Witten ... But their WRs are really bad without Bryant. Guys who looked like they could be 2's with Bryant taking double coverage now look liek 3's at best. I don't really care what happens to the Cowboys, but it will be interesting to see what happens.

Weeden also has been playing with the best offensive line in football. He's just terrible. It's that simple. My guess is that Cassel does bad as well, but it's because he's terrible as well.

Weeden being benched proves that Chud shouldn't have been fired tbqh. If Weeden were to play the entire year for the Cowboys then their players would quit on Garrett as well. Just saying.

It proves that the Cowboys can't win without Romo. It is really everybody on the team's fault. Can't make Brandon the scapegoat.

Of course Chud shouldn't have been fired. You don't fire a coach after a year unless things turn out to be an unmitigated disaster and there's a major scandal or something. He was doing some good things. He had good coordinators. Heck the team's last winning season was heavily influenced by his work as an OC. He was one of the few NFL coaches who understood that teams should be more aggressive on 4th downs. Many successful coaches don't have success with a team until their 2nd or 3rd year.

Was Weeden really that bad? He has a passer rating of 92.2. I haven't watched any Cowboys games this year though and obviously stats can be misleading.

His numbers look harmless enough because he has turned into captain checkdown. All you need to know is that he has lost 10 straight games as a starter.

He inflates is numbers by checking down for a couple of yards to the running back every play. He does that because even he knows he sucks. Weeden will finally be out of the NFL after this year.

Plus, a lot of those checkdown yards are in the 2nd half when the opposing team with a big lead is giving Weeden the underneath completions to keep the clock moving. He did that last week and he completed 19 of 20...but they were losing by a ton.

I heard on a website that Belicheck had 14 days to prepare for Brandon Weedon on Sunday and the speaker was wondering what Belicheck did with the remaining 13 days. Thought that was funny.
And the next head coach is ......

I'm not really sure we could consider it a check down as the Cowboys were literally only running shallow passes so Weeden could complete them. Anything past 5 yards will be incomplete because Weeden sucks.

If that's the case, you are going to lose anyway, so why not let him throw downfield? Also, if he is that bad why is he on your team?

Because he has starting experience and a big arm. Doesn't have a QB brain however. Which is a problem.

Yeah, I saw his response to Cassel coming in to start. As little as I think of Weeden as a QB, I am OK w him being pissed. Even if he thought it was deserved I would not want my QB being OK with getting benched.

Brandon Weeden completed 72.4 percent of his passes in three-plus games for the Cowboys since Tony Romo broke his collarbone, but that wasn’t enough for him to keep his job. Matt Cassel will be starting at quarterback for the Cowboys when they return from their bye for a Week Seven date with the Giants and Weeden’s response to hearing the news was pretty much what you’d imagine. “How do you think I took it? Obviously I’m pissed,” Weeden said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “But, you know, nature of this business.” Weeden relayed a comment from Norv Turner about having the “worst luck of any player I’ve been around” earlier this week, wouldn’t get into whether he felt he was a scapegoat for a defense that’s given up 95 points during the team’s three-game losing streak. “You guys can dictate however you want to perceive it,” Weeden said. “I’m not going to comment on it. I don’t want to bring the attention to me. I don’t want to say something I shouldn’t say. I’ve got my feelings, I’m going to keep them to myself and go from there. I’m going to handle it the right way, I’m going to go about it the right way. I’m not going to make excuses, I’m not going to throw a pity party for myself. I’m a pro. I’m going to handle it the right way, and go back to business as usual.” Coach Jason Garrett said that he hoped to spark the offense by making the move to Cassel, although Cassel’s history makes it hard to think that things will catch fire as long as Dez Bryant remains sidelined.

Well you have to enjoy the thread title if simply for the irony alone.

I listened to the end of the Cowboys game on the radio Sunday night in the car. It was the Dallas announcers on XM and I think they summed it up... Weeden isn't losing these games, but he's not doing enough to win them either.
All previous prejudices and bias toward Mr. Weeden aside, I don't think he's played that poorly for what you should expect out of your back-up... but he's not getting a lot of help.

There is our QB of the future. Gotta get him. I know you're joking, but Weeden's career is probably over. The Cowboys only signed him because he would take the minimum (because we were still paying him). We drafted him in 2012 and he is already out of the league. We blow through first round picks like it's going out of style. This run we've had is going to make us long for the days of Massaquoi, Robiskie, and Veikune.

I don't think his career is over. As desperate as teams are for quality QBs some one will give him another chance to at least come in and be a backup, there are guys in the league who are worse then Weeden still bouncing around from team to team and drawing a paycheck.
