Browns re-sign DL Dylan Wynn to practice squad
The Cleveland Browns on Monday re-signed DL Dylan Wynn to the practice squad. To make room on the roster, the team released DL Ray Drew from the practice squad.
Wynn originally signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent on May 8, 2015. A 6-2, 283-pound DL out of Oregon State, he spent training camp with the Browns and was on Cleveland’s practice squad for the first four weeks of the season. Wynn is a native of Concord, Calif. where he attended De La Salle High School. Wynn’s full bio can be found on page 243 of the 2015 Cleveland Browns media guide.

This is a PS signing that I actually like. I hope they figure out a way to get him on the field, because he looked good in camp.

The only people as popular in Cleveland as the backup QB are the guys on the Practice Squad.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

The Browns opened two roster spots Monday by waiving linebacker Jayson DiManche and defensive back De’Ante Saunders.
Saunders was promoted from the practice squad last week and played in last Thursday’s loss at Cincinnati. His release presumably means rookie defensive back Charles Gaines will be activated this week after the team used its injured reserve/designated for return spot on Gaines at the end of the preseason.
DiManche played in one game for the Browns after being signed as an injury replacement. He was waived-injured by the Bengals at the end of the preseason.
The release of DiManche means the Browns could activate running back Glenn Winston from the non-football injury list but the Browns already have three running backs on the roster and only used two running backs, Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson, last week. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...partner=ya5nbcsKind of practice squad related. Also, we signed Garth Gerhart to the practice squad. http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/arti...e5-c289465aacea

vague memory on Gerhart...but wasn't he a Center?
Can't we cut Johnson? I know we liked him for his pass catching skills at FB too bad he sucks at blocking and I would say at least 25% of our worse running plays were due to his ISO blocking skills or lack of.
jmho There are so many Freaking TRUE FBs out there out of the 60 get the best blocking and hands! Heck I betcha if they had an open Tryout from just amateurs in Northern OHIO you would get a true FB much much better than Johnson...I get it...good hands. Wrong thought process, fix it! jmho
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

Good move. I like Miller. Not a guy I would want to risk getting signed away at this point in the season. Especially to keep Turbin.

Wow, that's a surprising move to me. I like Miller as a LT but as a LT only (which makes him not a good candidate to be a backup.) Would have expected this move to happen before the trade deadline, but now that they can't trade Thomas, I wonder what is going on. Must be like 'Peen is saying, they want to make sure to keep him long-term and not have him signed away.
Maybe Denver tried to sign him and he let the team know? A guy like that wouldn't necessarily pick a team like Cleveland over Denver, but a guy making minimum salary / bottom of the roster probably would prefer to not to spend money moving.

I said this in another thread, but why get rid of the one guy who seemed to be an every down back? Now we don't have a constant RB on the squad. Maybe I'm wrong about this?

Well... my guess is that this will allow Farmer to put his favorite RB Glenn Winston back on the 53.
If you're a RB, you just can't fumble.

This franchise is so weird.

The dude has one big gain. Other than that he had 15 carries for 28 yards.

What a strange move.
This franchise is so weird. I don't see it as a strange move at all. This is the point in the season where teams start plucking other teams practice players. What does it hurt to give them a slot for 7 games? I am glad we made the move. Let someone else have Turbine for 7 games.

You have to be injured to be placed on IR. He wasn't.
I don't know all the rules, maybe we couldn't claim him and then place him on IR. We deemed him good enough to pick up.

Not the same. That guy was placed on waivers designated for IR. I think there is a big difference. I don't think we could have claimed Turbine and placed him directly to IR.

Charles Johnson. I think because we claimed Turbin off of waivers he had to be on the roster a certain amount of time before we could put him on waivers. When we claimed Charles Johnson we found out he had a torn ACL and then weren't able to IR him right away.
